Some days were just terrible, and today was one of them. Moth-Drops couldn't tell you what exactly was wrong with her, but she was having a wretched time. The weather was beautiful, the sun was shining, and today was simply awful. All her friends were busy, she had no idea what her siblings were up to, and she was just... weirdly sad. She hoped that something awesome would happen, but so far, nothing had. So the little pegasus laid on her back in the park, sighing at nothing in particular. She was in a terrible funk and nothing was gonna get her out of it.

Candy Dandy by contrast was having an excellent day. The kind of day that makes you smile just thinking about it. Her mother had made muffins for breakfast. Muffins with strawberries in them. Candy Dandy loved strawberries! When she came outside the sun was shining. Another point for a happy day! Her bouncing gait carried her all over town. She wasn't going anywhere in particular, she just knew that today was a day you don't spend inside. Oh! maybe she would find some pretty flowers to collect! Instead of pretty flowers, she saw a pegasus lying on its back, staring up at the sky. She paused in her prance, then changed her course to intersect with the dark colored pegasus. She bounced around until she stood by her head, and looked over the multihued mane at the gray eyes below it. From Moth-Drops view, it would look like she was upside down. "Well hello!" she said brightly, waving a hoof next to her face. "I think I've met you before. You look familiar!"

The newcomer was somebody she recognized, but even that couldn't shake the cloud that was hovering over the pegasus. Literally. That whole pegasus-cloud connection had come into play and now there was a small gray stormcloud hovering over her head. It only served to push the little phony deeper into the depths of darkest despair. "I know you," the pegasus said with a sad little smile. "You're... Dandy Candy? Something like that? I'm sorry, I'm not good with names. You were there when we did the pies and vegetables and stuff with Mandrake and Lullaby and Knots and all those other foals." She kind of envied the little earth phony; she looked like she was having a glorious time.

The pink haired foal giggled, holding her hoof to her mouth to stifle the laugh. "Close!" she said, poking at the little gray cloud with sparkling eyes. "It's Candy Dandy. Just reverse what you said. She kept poking at the cloud, utterly fascinated.
"Is this a really real cloud? Like, could it rain on you if you wanted it to?" Unicorn magic and the pegasus ability to control the weather was amazing to Candy Dandy. As an earth pony, she wasn't able to do any of those. When she tried to cook, she had to use her mouth for everything. She sighed, a wistful look coming across her face as she thought. Unicorn magic would make baking so much easier!
Curls bounced as she shook her head. "Why is this little cloud gray? Are you having a bad day?" Her blueish eyes took on a momentary look of concern.

"Candy Dandy. I'll be sure to remember it. Mine's Moth-Drops." She stared up at the cloud, contemplating its existence.
"I suppose if I kicked it or something, it would rain. I dunno where it came from; one minute I was just laying here, and then it showed up." She reached out and prodded the cloud experimentally with a hoof. It didn't budge, but it wobbled dangerously. It looked as though it might burst at any minute. "I guess today's a grey day for me in more way than one."

Candy Dandy also pondered its existence, giving it one more good poke. Despite its gloomy color, the cloud felt light and fluffy to the touch. It wibbled and wobbled like jelly, and finally the strange movements lost Candy's attention. Instead she focused on the phony below the cloud. She did look pretty melancholy. But that wasn't right! Today was a lovely day, she should be as happy as...well, Candy herself!
"Aw, why the frowny face?" she asked, longing to push Moth-Drop's cheeks up into a smile, but just barely resisting. Barely. "You know the easiest way for you to feel better is to smile. It's supposed to make you happy!"

Moth almost giggled when Candy Dandy pushed the cloud. Something about it reminded her of Jello, but even Jello wasn't enough to cheer her up. She tried a slow, experimental smile, but it felt... off. Her eyes didn't have that sparkle in them that came with a real smile.
"Well, that... didn't work. But thank you so much for trying," said the pegasus. The cloud over her head rumbled and grumbled threateningly.

"Well, did something happen to make your day sad and gloomy?" She asked, taking a seat by one of Moth Drops outstretched wings. She leaned toward the filly, looking passed the cloud. Her eyes were like a doctors; taking in her 'patient' as if to try and diagnose what was wrong with her. Maybe she just needed something bright to make her feel better!
She jumped to her hooves, saying "Ill be right back!" before galloping off toward the nearest hillside. There she found just what she was looking for; flowers. She picked a few with her teeth. Two white, one blue and two purple. Then she added a pink one just because. She galloped back as fast as her little legs would carry her, and presented the bouquet to Moth Drops, saying "Flowers always make my day, and isn't it nice when someone gives them to you? So these are for you! Think of them as...a new friend present!"
Her nose wiggled, and Candy Dandy's face scrunched up. The flowers were close to her nose, and they had pollen. She inhaled, and suddenly sneezed.
An explosion of flower petals rained down on the two fillies. They coated both in multihued petals. Candy Dandy blinked a couple times and rubbed her nose with a hoof. "Heh, sorry about that."

As the flowers exploded around them, a little smile finally began to play around the pegasus's muzzle. "Naw, don't worry. It was kinda pretty. Like... like a colorful rainstorm!" The cloud above her head shrunk a little, and was it her imagination, or did it get lighter in color. "I think your blues treatment might be starting to work, Dr. Dandy. I can't say that anything specific happened, but... I am starting to feel a little better, I think."

Candy Dandy's eyes lit up with glee. "Oh wonderful!" She would have to keep going, her patient needed to smile! But what else could she do? Hmmmm....
She looked around the two fillies, blowing a stray yellow petal from the curl that brandished itself in front of her eyes. Flowers make phonies smile.....so do jokes!
"Oh! I got it! I have a joke for you!" she said proudly, sifting through her mind for the perfect joke to make Moth Drops laugh. Se largely ignored the ones that her father told. She didn't really understand them anyway. But one that Boho had learned was particularly funny.
"Why did the ants dance on the jam jar?"

Moth-drops tilted her head. A joke, perhaps? She wasn't too good at telling jokes, but they could be pretty funny. "I have no idea! Why did the ants dance on the jam jar?" She liked ants. She liked ants a lot. Not as much as she liked moths and other lepidopterans, but a good ant was as great as a wasp on a slow day for butterflies. The cloud quivered in anticipation of the punchline; a careful observer would notice that it shrunk just a bit!

Candy's smiled widened for a moment. Pause for effect..." Because the lid said TWIST TO OPEN!" she practically shouted the answer, rolling herself onto her back and giggling uncontrollably. Whether or not Moth Drops enjoyed it, Candy Dandy thought herself a regular comedian. Maybe that was her special talent! Making phonies laugh! The all important question of one's purpose in life was pushed away from her mind. Now was not the time to ask questions like that! If laughter didn't make the tiny cloud go away, she would have to think of something else!

The little smile wrenched its way across the pegasus's face, erupting into a giggle. Yeah, the joke was a little corny, but it was super cute and with the mood she'd been in, the joke was more than welcome. As the filly laughed, the grey fog above her head lightened. The cloud shok for a moment, jelly-like, then with a soft popping sound, disappeared into nothing. "Well, what do you know," Moth-drops said with a grin. "Looks like it worked! Thanks, Dr. Candy!" It was true; she was in a much better mood, and still wasn't sure what she'd been so down about in the first place. [[I think we can wrap it up pretty quick!]]

Candy giggled again, seeing the cloud disappear. She waved a hoof over Moth-drops head, saying " Hey you're right! It's gone! Hooray!" She did a little wiggle dance, and said " If you are ever feeling blue again, you gotta come find me. Next time I'll make sure to have some sweets around. Those are always a sure fire way to make a frown turn upside down!"
She waved and started to bounce away, calling over her shoulder as she went. "See you later Moth-drops!" Why shouldn't she leave as suddenly as she came? It lead to a mysterious nature..and being mysterious sure was neat! Who knew that a little kindness could make someone so happy?
Scaramouche Fandango I think we can call it good too!
