The day had started off with a light drizzle that only succeeded in twisting curls and relieving flowers of the oppressive sun. As it continued, the degree of rain pressure escalated until it was a long, steady downpour. A bit of sun could be visible behind the dark clouds, which was just enough for a little Shaymin to get out by.
She shook her curls into the rain, giving out a little giggle as her toes squished into the mud. Her dress was already ruined, but then, it had been before she'd started puddle jumping. The material was torn, stained, and in one spot burned thanks to an angry Charizard.
Mitsuru hopped from muddle to puddle, squealing out with delight every time a spray of dirty water came up around her legs.

Cupcake had decided he rather liked being humanish..now that he'd sort of adjusted. Oh sure small things still stymied him, but for the most part it was so much easier. Doors for one. Getting food from the fridge when hungry for another...and he loved how fast he could run now!
It was one of those days where it'd been raining most of the day and he'd been stuck inside, but the first break in the clouds had him racing outside, too long pants rolled up, as were his shirt sleeves. He raced out into the yard with a "I'll be back later, BYE!" and took off.
He could feel the coolness in the air on his skin and it was so strange at times, these small simple things. But it felt nice the wind on his skin, through his hair. He flexed his fingers and took another step, some distance now from home...and he managed to finally find some mud.
SQUISH!
He stared down at it, and poked it with his toe, and giggled. It was cold and squishy! He let his foot splat down on it, and he giggled again, and began to dance in the mud puddle a little, he'd never really been out like this after the rain. Kelsie hadn't wanted him to get dirty.
He took off running again kicking at water puddles, splashing and squishing, clothes being covered in mud and water, but he didn't care, this was SO COOL!

Mitsuru couldn't believe how much mud there was! She'd never seen the ground so saturated before, and that was truly saying something. With a gleeful shout, she stomped into yet another puddle. Unfortunately for her, one leg slipped and sent her crashing on her bum. Before she had the chance to realize what had happened she was sliding into thin bushes, past a tree and down a hillside into a large meadow.
At first all she could think to do was scream. Even as she slipped, she managed to flip onto her back side, head facing down, and when she landed all she could see was mud. Now she was truly, truly soaked. "That was...that was AWESOME! Again, again, again, again!" She screamed, kicking her legs into the air before she bounced up to her feet.

Screaming. He could hear it so close to him, but he couldn't tell if it was in terror, enjoyment...or what. So he took off running as quickly as he could eyes wide in worry that someone was hurt, or being attacked, or who knew what!
So when he saw the Shaymin girl flailing in the mud he was sort of puzzled. Was she okay? She...was okay right? ...right? Oh heck he didn't know!
He took off running again skittering and slipping in the mud and crashed down heavily sliding to a stop and spitting the mud from his mouth as he stopped a few feet from her.
"Oh ew, yuck yuck yucky! That's so groooooooooooooooooooss!!!!" He flailed a little and tried to wipe his face clean. Finally he realized he'd coming racing over here for a reason.
"OH! Are you okay? I heard you screaming and I was worried!" he tried to wipe the mud from his face and only succeeded it making it worse.

Before she could even register his concern, Mitsuru just laughed. She pointed and laughed a tear jerking chuckle that had her flopping onto her back in the mud, kicking her legs in the air. "You look so funny!" Of course, she meant the mud, but now that she got to look at him again she started to notice other things as well, like his ears and tail.
"I'm better than okay! That slide was super fun, so fun that you should go with me! Come on!" She shot up, grabbed his hand, and ran around to a side path that wasn't as slick. "If you keep wiping it off you'll be cleaning all day!"

"I'm just trying to get it out of my eyes and mouth. YUCK!" he found his hand snagged and he was running to keep up with this strange girl, wondering who she was. "What slide? I don't see any slides..."
He was thinking playground slide, not a natural one from the mud on a hill. He slipped and slid, barely managing to keep to his feet. "Wow mud is so slippery!" Duh.

"Well, why'd you put it there in the first place?" Mitsuru screwed up her face in an odd look. "It's better if you keep it on your face, goofy, that way you don't eat it. Water's good for you, but not when it's mixed with dirt." After a life lesson well taught, she tugged him along, her feet nimbly stepping onto roots and stones to keep herself upright. It was obvious that she did this a lot.
"Yep, yep yep yep, yep yep!" She squawked, and once at the top, she stood proud in the mud. "Do you want to go down together, since it's your first time? You might eat less mud that way!"

"Wasn't trying to get it into my mouth." Cupcake made another face, shaking his head a little but at least it was finally not in his eyes and mouth anymore.
He couldn't help a laugh at being called goofy running along behind her tripping a few times but not falling any and looked down the slide with a nod. "Together sounds good!" well it could be fun anyhow.
"I didn't know mud could be a slide. Neat!" oh he was a filthy mess, and Kelsie would likely be ticked...and some how he just didn't care.

"Together it is!" Mitsuru flopped down on the ground with a might 'omph!', and smoothed her filthy dress out over her legs. She patted the spot in front of her, the one just at the tip top of the hill.
If anything the Gracidea flowers on her head seemed to glow bright in the dingy atmosphere, much like her smile as she looked up at Cupcake. "Mud is the best kind of slide out there! When it dries, it's still a slide, even if it isn't as fast."

Cupcake watched her with a bright smile on his face, it was different being around someone his age, that was like him! But oh was it ever turning out to be fun...if a bit messy and bad tasting. "Okay!"
He carefully moved to sit down in front of her, his eyes wide as he looked down the hill....whoa that was kinda high up...
"Dirt slide?" how puzzled he sounded. "Now what?" he turned to look back at her with a confused look. He'd never been on a slide before.

She wrapped her hands around his waist and snuggled in as close as she could due to his tail. It was so big and....well, dirty now, but she assumed it was pretty awesome anyway.
Mitsuru very rarely got to meet new friends with human-esque qualities, so when she did it was always fun to guess what kind of Poke'mon they'd been. He had big ears and a big tail, but what could that mean....?
"Now we go!" She scootched forward, and pushed them both down the hill with a squeal of excitement.

He couldn't help but whoop in delight as they slid down the hill a delightful sound coming from him as he did so. With her pressed behind, he couldn't exactly wave his tail in excitement, but once they got to the bottom he was leaping to his feet ears straight up in excitement, his hands held out to help her out.
"Lets go again! That was FUN!"

Once they hit the ground, Mitsuru rolled to her side and flopped back into the mud as if she were a Grimer. With his help, she bounced back up to her feet with a wide grin. "If you want to do it, we'll do it!" She didn't let go of him as she made her way back up the hill.
Mitsuru couldn't imagine a time when anyone had voluntarily spent time with her. Most of the time if she wanted company she would have to trap them, and that just wasn't a very nice way of doing it. Why couldn't they see she just wanted a friend? They were always too angry to see.
This boy, though, was different. Being around him gave her hope of finding others that she could truly call friend. "Do you want to lead again?"

Cupcake was laughing watching her rolling around in the mud, shaking his head in amusement as he flicked an ear getting some mud off of it. "Okay lets go do it!" he ran along with her giggling away as they went back up the hill.
"Sure, I'll go first this time, and then you can be first!" he stood there looking down before he flopped down to sit waiting on her.

It wasn't a second later that Mitsuru had slipped back in behind him, moving his tail over her lips to give her more room. With an excited laugh, she held up her first, and shouted, "Go, go, go!"
Years from now she knew she would remember the stranger in the mud, and think on it fondly. How could she ever forget? Friends came and went in life, and she would be sad to see him go, but for now, she was the happiest she had ever been.
And who knew? Maybe this was the start of a new chapter. A better one, just for her.
