Remarque had been taking things relatively easy since the battle, not because he’d been beaten down by it in any way, but because he’d had more important things to think about. Raven and Ophelia had taken up a fair portion of his thought, and though he had healed, he was still taking a slight bit of time to get back into the groove of things.

He had gathered energy, sure, but in terms of boldness he had skirted away from any auras he sensed while out in favor of tending to his own affairs. Tonight was different, though. Tonight, he’d retrieved an abundance of energy, and yet the little pang of want boiled in his stomach. He craved something novel—some sort of interaction or conflict.

Originally, he’d intended to find some knight and either sweet talk them or coerce them into a brawl, though his radar remained entirely devoid of order energy.

Chaos, however, flickered.

And not just any chaos aura—a very special one.

He still wasn’t quite sure what it was. He thought it might have been Nickeline, and even though there was a very difficult language barrier, a friendly face was always good for morale.

Approaching the energy source, he utilized a nearby mirror to as a shortcut, simply mirrorwalking to another mirror closer to his destination. He stepped out, looked around, and noticed a figure in the very near distance.

It was dark enough that he couldn’t immediately identify who it was, though didn’t realized it wasn’t Nickeline until he was near enough to speak without shouting. The shadows might have played tricks on his eyes, though he wasn’t going to let that mistake make this conversation awkward.

“You’re in a pretty empty place out here,” he said to the girl’s back. “If you’re looking to gather energy, this isn’t really a hot spot.”

The park was big enough that any number of people could have been hiding in the shadows of the trees, though in all the months he’d been browsing for energy in the area, this was always the place he came when he wanted a break from it all.

She didn't really know what had possessed her, or why she was standing here. But standing in the park, in the dark, in the silence, was somehow relaxing.

She'd only been planning to go for a short walk. It was late, but Chase and she had been playing some video games when he'd suggested bed. Naomi had reluctantly agreed, but then changed her mind and decided on a short walk first. He hadn't been pleased, but her winning smile (hah!) had managed to convince him otherwise, and she'd promised not to get into trouble. Was this trouble? She hadn't been able to help it, it was something she'd needed to do. Not really paying attention to where she was going, Naomi had wandered upon the abandoned park, and before she'd realized what she was doing she'd called upon her asteroid and henshined up, and so it was now the corrupted Sailor Eos that stood in the grass, skirt blowing gently in the wind.

The blonde felt different here to how she had in the Rift. Less on edge, less scared. She still was scared, but almost like a different type. Now she had a home, and the beginnings of a future, she was less terrified and more accepting of the path that had been carved for her. Labyrinthite had been a godsend, to be perfectly honest, and she was immensely grateful for all he'd done so far. Chaos had saved her, that much was clear.

So busy in her thoughts that she hadn't noticed the approaching power signature or heard the approaching footsteps, Eos practically jumped out of her skin when the voice called out to her, though at the same time something in her head registered a sense of vague deja vu. Geez, this was probably what Chase had meant by trouble, and she quickly turned to face the stranger approaching her. Prepared for fight or flight, her sympathetic nervous system buzzing, everything seem to shut down when blue eyes laid upon the blonde senshi before her. She'd...she'd seen him before.

"Who are you?" she demanded, perhaps a little harshly, caught unaware by the sudden mixture of feelings coursing through her veins. Confusion, fear, relief, all melting into one big mess.

Remarque blinked. From behind, he had realized that the girl wasn’t Nickeline, but now that she was facing him, he was just confused. The outfit might have been different—the hair might have been longer, but he recognized that face.

“Eos?” he prompted, though perhaps had spoken too soon. She didn’t seem to recognize him at all. Which seemed exceptionally out of place given the fact that Eos was a white moon Senshi—and even then when they had been on opposing sides, they had gotten along decently.

…Which meant that either this was a whole mess of confusion or Remarque had the wrong girl. Which was preposterous. He was never wrong.

Shaking his head he decided to brush it aside. “It’s Remarque,” he said, gesturing to himself and speaking as though this were the most obvious thing in the world. “Dark Mirror Senshi of Puppetry. Or doesn’t that ring a bell?”

He knew her name too. This was getting creepy, and her heart skipped a beat before quickening in her chest. Should she be relieved, grateful, scared, annoyed, happy, sad? She took a step back, wary of this stranger - but was he a stranger? Oh, this was so confusing.

Then came the name. Remarque. Eyes downcast, something inside of her clicked, and she somehow knew his sphere was puppetry before he spoke. Any anger in her expression faded quickly, eyebrows furrowing as she tried to piece together the broken pieces that made up any previous memories she'd had. Remarque...she'd met him before. Talked to him. But about what? She growled softly through gritted teeth, frustrated.

Looking up, blue eyes met a similar colour, Eos' expression one of complete and utter awe. "Did I know you? Before?" The memory was just out of her reach, she couldn't quite grasp it. The blonde kept her distance but watched Remarque, eagerly awaiting his answer.

Remarque arched a brow as he looked at the Senshi in front of him. Eos hadn’t responded with hostility—she’d responded to her name. She just didn’t seem to recognize him.

She was different, now—not a Dark Mirror Senshi, but what was she—corrupted?

“Yeah,” he replied, trying not to sound annoyed. Of course he’d known her before—how else would he have known her name? “We ran into each other a few times. We spoke a lot. You always left me with things to think about. You don’t remember?” he prompted, though that much was obvious. “…What happened?”

His confirmation was all she needed as she took a few steps forwards, just about managing to stop herself from jumping him in a hug. She'd known him! She'd known him before! This was like, a missing piece of the puzzle, and she didn't know whether she wanted to burst into tears or grin from ear to ear. So she did a bit of both, the corners of her mouth twisting upwards in a wide smile as tears sprung up in her eyes, threatening to spill over and roll down her cheeks.

She remembered talking. Talking about...about Order and Chaos and wrong and right. The specifics slipped through the sieve that was her mind, but she remembered him being there, blue eyes watching her with amusement one moment then confusion and a mixture and oh-- this was all too much. Her smile widened, the senshi practically grinning like a cheshire cat. "I know," she whispered, as if it were a secret, her whole body practically shaking. She wanted to jump up and down and scream in joy.

What happened? She closed the gap between them with one final step-hop-thing, clasping her hands together, "Zinkenite," she breathed, as if that explained everything. To her, this wasn't important, she just wanted to know who she'd been, "Zinkenite corrupted me. He saved me!" She emphasized her words, as if a little afraid she'd be judged, but then the smile was back. "But I've forgotten things, it was a necessary loss. What did we talk about?"

The change Eos displayed was a bit surprising—but also phenomenally relieving. For a moment Remarque had wondered if he was losing his mind, though her enthusiasm and smile were enough to reassure him that things were still in order. He had been relieved when she smiled; no longer was it the blank look one might give a stranger addressing him, but the expression one might wear when greeting an old friend.

The change the Negaverse had on Eos made him smile; as much as he would have loved to see her join the Dark Mirror Court, she was far closer to doing the right thing now than if she were still trapped under the brand of the White Moon. Remarque might not have known Zinkenite on any sort of personal level, though he had become briefly acquainted with the man during their large-scale attack. It hadn’t been enough time to really judge him, though he was happy for Eos—happy that she had escaped the clutches of the white moon before they could tear her down.

“Congratulations!” he said, even sounding happy for her. While Remarque was one for smirks, her smile was contagious—and he was truly happy for her. “I’ll have to thank him the next time I see him. We,” he paused, wondering if now their topics of conversation might be odd, “We talked of many things. You were one of the few senshi that seemed capable of thinking for themselves. You listened to me when I explained the purpose of our Court—the Dark Mirror Court. We discussed the fallacy of the White Moon. We exchanged ideas and concepts of good and evil, right and wrong. You were wise—and smart. I’m elated to see you looking so well, now.”

He smiled back, and suddenly the world seemed alright again. Before she really realized what she was doing Eos had closed the gap between them with two quick steps and flung her arms out to embrace Remarque in a hug, squeezing his chest and burying her face in his shoulder. She hugged him tightly for a few moments, before finally releasing and taking a step back. Her cheeks were tinged pink, but her grin was wide and her eyes were sparkling with delight. "I've missed you," she spoke, the words seeming natural as she stated them. She had missed him, she'd missed the memories and she'd missed the familiarity. Having something back, even something as small as a previous acquaintance, was massive for the newly corrupted senshi.

His congratulations made her heart swell with pride, and she was somewhat overwhelmed with the different emotions pulsing through her body. Her hands were shaking and she nodded eagerly, almost like a firework waiting to go off. "We were friends," she ascertained, nodding again before he'd even spoken. Okay, so she couldn't exactly remember that fact...but they must have been, right? And why else would he be so happy for her? "I remember...you're allies, but follow Princess Ares." Eos was only stating facts, but she was clearly proud of herself for even remembering in the first place.

"I can't...I can't remember much. But Zinkenite saved me, he enlightened me, and I just know this is right now." She suddenly paused, her smile fading a little as she looked to the floor, "I'm sorry if I ever offended you." Would he be angry, if they'd discussed things during her mistaken devotion to the White Moon Court? She didn't want her only memory to be frustrated.

The hug had surprised Remarque, not because the display made him uncomfortable, but because he hadn't been expecting it. He had attempted not to be awkward in it—lightly wrapped his arms around her to embrace her. When she took a step back, he released her immediately. She seemed to have so much light in her—so much energy. Something he hadn't seen in her when she had been with the White Moon.

There was not a doubt in his mind that Zinkenite had saved her. This pure, unbridled life radiating from her? In their previous meetings, she might have been wary due to their differences in alignment—or maybe that was just how she was—but now, she seemed like a whole other person. And he liked it.

"I won't hold anything you might have done or said back then against you." Not that she had ever been unbearable in any way—she had been a logical, thoughtful girl who had made him think in a way that no one else had. She had given him a moment of doubt that he had quickly buried, but no more. "—But you can't really be accountable for anything back then. You were still under the clutches of the White Moon. Nobody can blame you for the things they put into your head. You're where you belong now, that's all anyone cares for. Are you doing well?" he further prompted, rather interesting about the change she'd undergone. She looked like she was doing fine, but it didn't hurt to gather a little extra information.

He wouldn't hold it against her? It was like a weight was lifted off of her chest, and an audible sigh of relief escaped the blonde as her face was once again graced with a bright, happy smile. He put her mind at rest, and just being here with Remarque everything seemed to disappear - all of the worries over her new identity and her new place in the Negaverse hierarchy. It was refreshing, only Chase had been able to calm her down so far, and right now he was still very shaken. They both were.

"I...I am, yeah," she exhaled, wrapping her arms around herself and squeezing tightly, trying to quell her fidgeting limbs. Where to start? "I don't remember most things. Y'know, from before. But I have an officer, Labyrinthite, and he's helping me. The General-King gave me a new civilian identity too." She swallowed, not sure if she was just word-vomiting and not actually making all that much sense. Eos wasn't even sure if Remarque wanted to know all of this, but he seemed interested and the blonde was feeding off of that, desperate to rekindle a relationship.

Shuffling on the spot, she was unable to stand still, now fiddling with her own fingers as she watched Remarque with a bright, inquisitive expression. "Did I...know you as a civilian, too?" Eos wasn't entirely sure on the etiquette involving civilian identities, but she assumed she wouldn't have since they'd have been on different sides of the war. Now they were on the same side, maybe they could be friends?

Labyrinthite was not a name that Remarque recalled off the top of his head, so it was difficult for him to make a proper assessment of the situation. Eos seemed fine and in one piece, so he could only assume that the officer was treating her properly. He couldn’t tell if it was nervousness or excitement that was making Eos so fidgety—or something else all together—but figured it would be best if he gave her some outlet to let her work it out. Gesturing with his hand, he said, "Let's stretch our legs while we walk, you look like you could use it," he said. Truth be told, he wouldn’t mind a walk either—if it helped him take all this in better. He liked being informed, and corruption was a topic that he lacked proper full knowledge of. He knew there were differences between Dark Mirror Senshi and the Senshi more closely aligned with the Negaverse, and the more he learned, the more he wondered why anyone would choose the Negaverse.

Still, he wasn't going to criticize her decision—it was probably too late to do anything about it. "If I knew you as a civilian, you never told me who you were. Probably wouldn't have been too practical if we were swapping stories about our identities. That information in the wrong hands could be a little more than catastrophic. Though, I suppose that isn't an issue anymore."

He didn't know the civilian identity of too many from the Negaverse, and kept his a well guarded secret. Allies or not, there were few outside the Dark Mirror Court that he would trust so fully.

The offer of a stroll was one the blonde was grateful for, as was made obvious by the wide smile and the hop that lead into her first few steps. There was a noticeably bounce in her step as she looked around briefly, before sea-blue eyes came to rest on Remarque once again, the sparkle still dancing in her eyes and the smile still playing on her lips.

It was as she thought - if she'd been on the side of Order, telling her enemies (as they had been then) who she was wouldn't have been a smart move. But now they were all on the same side, the right side, and so it was like they were one big happy family. And Remarque was part of that family now, right? "Do you want to swap identities now?" she asked, quite openly, watching him carefully incase she was taking a step too far. "If not it's okay, I totally understand!" Oh god, was she making a mess of this? "'Cause, like, we're still not really the same are we? 'Cause you're a Dark Moon Senshi, but I'm a Corrupted Senshi."

She was pretty sure she knew the difference, she just wanted to be sure. And she certainly didn't want to scare her new-old-friend away before they'd even properly gotten to know each other again!

Remarque needed only consider the inquiry for a short omment. On one hand, it wasn't like he went around telling his identity to Negaversers. On the other hand, Eos was a little more than just a Negaverser. She was a corrupt senshi—and the closest thing to a Dark Mirror Senshi he'd yet discovered.

For almost a year now, he'd been working alongside the Negaverse, and for a long while he'd questioned the relationship the Dark Mirror Senshi held with them.

There were few Negaversers that he'd trust with his life—but it was easy to ration that Eos was different. Maybe it was because he'd known her when she was still with the White Moon—or maybe it was because she was Corrupted Senshi, or because she had shown such intuitiveness in all the conversations prior to this one. Maybe it was all three. Either way, he found himself nodding.

He cracked a small grin in typical fashion, like he'd do when introducing himself to any pretty girl. The only difference was that now he was powered up—and taking a little more of a risk. While he didn't dare power down in such a public place, sans himself and Eos there didn't seem to be any more energy signatures in the area, and if there was someone hiding, it was unlikely that they were in earshot.

"Jett Draven," he said, extending a hand to her before he continued with a brief biography, "Out of HITS, back at DCU, antique aficionado, boxing champion." It was a brief bio, but damn, if that didn't cover the basics. "You?"

Though it was only a short moment, it seemed to drag on and on as far as Eos was concerned. She was suddenly gripped by the fear that she'd gone too far - asking to know a fellow agent's civilian identity wasn't a polite question to ask, was it? Obviously she knew Chase's, but that was all at the moment, and she got the horrible feeling that it was a rude, horrible question to ask. Not to mention that she'd just put him massively on the spot. Slender hands wrapped into fists, nails carving small semilunar-shaped indents into her palms - how did she fix this?

Then suddenly he cracked a very charming smile, and all of her worries were gone. Woa, she didn't know people could do that.

Eos didn't recognize the name, but her face lit up in a bright smile none-the-less and she gave an eager nod. HITS was that super-science-y school, right? He liked antiques and boxing - both seemed pretty normal hobbies to have. Nothing there that screamed out about the alter ego she was currently standing before and talking to. It really could be anyone behind the mask - the boy sitting beside her in class, the girl standing behind her in the queue at Starbucks. She had to always be on her guard, henshined up or not.

"I don't remember who I was before my corruption," she began, not sure how much he knew about the process, "But I've been given a new civilian identity, Naomi Watts." The blonde was about to add about Labyrinthite/Chase before stopping herself - that was in no way her secret to tell, she couldn't go giving away such information so freely. Sharing her own secrets was her choice, and Chase's were his. "I'm at DCU too, studying Classical Literature." Eos pondered briefly how else to sum herself up, she didn't want to oversell herself. It was always difficult, putting something so complicated into so few words, especially when you were put on the spot to do so. "I love music, especially the saxophone. Uhh...and I've just started this really cool martial art, capoeira."

The eternal senshi nodded, taking in the information. For as ridiculous as it was, sometimes he forgot how normal people could be behind the crazy outfits. He couldn't help but wonder why on earth anyone would want to corrupt to the Negaverse—why would you want to forget who you were? Mjolnir had to abandon her previous civilian identity, but she still had those memories. She still knew who she was, and how she got here. Sure, forgetting your entire civilian identity might stop you from knowing what you were missing—but wasn't that like killing a part of yourself? You lost everyone you were—everything up to that point.

It seemed unfortunate—but it was a necessary lost. After all—it was the future that mattered, not the past. Right?

He didn't take a terribly long time to mull over his thoughts and process what Eos had chosen to share with him. "Capoeira, hm?" he prompted; he knew very little about martial arts, and that was not a form he'd ever heard of. "Interesting. Good luck with that," he said, honestly meaning it. "Not too many order folks take kindly to our side. Though, perhaps you've got an advantage. Maybe you'll be able to convince some of them how wrong they were in the first place—help get them on the right path. I know that if I was as misguided as them, I'd be more inclined to reconsider my stance if a friend had already made the first step."

Reconsider was not a guarantee, however; Remarque had never been one to follow in the shadows of another, and the decisions he made, he made for him. Very few people had enough influence on him to make him challenge his decisions and choices—but Eos was a sweet girl. He was sure she'd have made some close friends while working with the White Moon—maybe her corruption would inspire them in ways words alone couldn't.
