 She had been feeling rather bored that day, laying sprawled out with her sister and watching anything from leaves falling off the trees to a bug crawling along the ground. Evening Storm was feeling restless. Or maybe it was adventurous? She wasn't sure which fit her current mood, but napping definitely wasn't it. So Evie nibbled on Clear Sky's ear before rolling to her feet and shaking her coat. With ears erect and tail wagging, the she wolf bounded off through the trees, racing after birds and growling at moths that flew in front of her face.
Now this was more like it! She was able to waste some energy and explore at the same time! Evie howled a soft melody of glee before deciding to tackle a large mound of rocks. Maybe she could spot something interesting from the top? It took some grunts and grumbles, but the she wolf made it to the top. Where she promptly sat on her behind and looked around. Ooooh was there someone else lurking about? Her nose sniffed at the air, eyes brightening. Yes! Yes there was another wolf nearby. She just had to find them.

 Paws flying over grass and moss alike, River Shadow raced along the forest floor. He leaped over logs and streams as he ran. Flowing over the terain, he paused on hearing another wolf.
Maybe they would like to race with him? He sniffed the air and looked around, trying to spot where the other wolf was.
Oh lets play a guessing game! Is this wolf upwind of me? Lets run that way. Is it friendly? We'll see when we get there. Is the other wolf going to hunt with me? Doubtful, but River Shadow was used to hunting his own food.

Ears alert and tail erect, Evening Storm trotted along, pausing every few seconds to sniff the air. Yes, she was going the right way, she thought. And there was another sound. Was the other wolf coming towards her? Ooooh she could have fun with this! Giggling, Evie dashed into the brush and found a particularly thick section to wiggle under and hide. Yes, she would jump out and scare the new wolf! That would make things fun! And then maybe they could play tag. Or go exploring? Or-
She froze, belly flattened to the ground and chin resting against her paws. Her eyes caught the flicker of movement and it was difficult not to start wagging her tail again. Evie waited until the other wolf was closer....closer...just a little more...
And she leaped out of the brush with a high pitched yip of glee. "Hi there!"

River stepped back, somewhat startled. Well, he's found the other wolf... now what? He'd forgotten what he was going to ask while confronted with those eyes. Quick, gotta say something back. "...Morning?" Good job fuzzbrain, that's going to get her to be rriends with you for sure. "How are you?" Oh please no, you have to shut your jaws River Shadow, or nobody will be your friend.

Where the new wolf was startled, Evie was giggling, tail a-waggin away. She stood up and shook her coat, as if some of her extra energy would be thrown off with the gesture. But alas, she was still as hyper and devious as usual. And this male was amusing her. "Morning!" She said with a grin, ears perked up happily and green eyes bright. "Just fine. Very fine. How are you?" Evie paused, head tilted as she stepped forward, extending her neck to sniff at the male. "Never met you before. What's your name?" She danced away a few steps and looked around them before returning her gaze to the strange wolf. "Wanna go explorin' with me?" She knew there was a small herd of deer nearby. Perfect for spooking and chasing!

"My name is River," he replied as he watched her bounding about. "And you must be...?"
He sat down, might as well get to know a bit about who you'll be hunting with, right?
