Minutes seemed to drift by like lazy clouds. Her feet felt as though they could walk among the clouds. Was it only a couple days ago that she'd agreed to be N'Seka's mate? Malaya wondered if this heady feeling was what it was like to be love. She laughed softly at herself. Look at her mooning away the day, when she'd promised to bring back some fresh game. The large lioness moved with a graceful ease that tension usually held back. She found she didn't mind spending time with the sick nearly as much.
The black lioness shook her head again. Focus. Daydreaming won't catch the prey. She lifted her head and scanned the area with her deep red eyes. The prey didn't seem to be stirring and she knew she'd need to travel far to find something suitable. Malaya sighed softly. It was going to be a long hot day. She headed closer to the pride border on the hopes that something might have wandered in from the outside lands.

Ayashi had been wandering for a while now looking for prey that seemed to be scares today. He had been traveling for over an hour now and the terrain had recently changed quite a bit. Ayashi looked around and couldn't seen anything, but he smelt a lion. At first he was going to attack it, since he had the upper hand of suprise, but since he needed to find out where he was figured it best to ask for directions instead. "Hello there!" he yelled in the general direction of the lion, hoping to make his presence known "I mean no harm! I'm just a little lost!" He wanted to make sure he would not be attacked especially since it seemed like he may had stepped onto a pride's land. Ayashi looked around again, trying but unable to catch sight of the lion that he knew was around Ugh...I knew I should have just settled for that half dead bird back there... Now I've stepped into a pride's lands and may get attacked... There isn't even a hyena around from the smell of it... he thought to himself. Ayashi desided to take a seat in the middle of a clearing, that way he could hopefully see the lion before it attacked him if it were to be hostile.

Malaya was startled to hear a voice. What the....?! She looked around and carefully sniffed the wind. This is what lolly-gagging got her. More importantly was if the voice belonged to a lion or lion-hybrid. As a scout she'd warned those about to enter the pride lands about the disease that ran rampent here. Her ears twitched as she listened closely as the voice called out a second time. Pinpointing the location she bounded up the small hill to look down onto a clearly.
The larger than average lioness breathed an easier sigh when she saw it was a hyena. There was several that belonged to the pride, and luckily they couldn't catch the disease. She approached slowly, so he wouldn't become alarmed.
"Welcome to the Kitwana'antara lands. I'm Scout Malaya. It'd be a pleasure to help you if I can." Malaya stopped several body lengths from the hyena and gave a polite smile.

Ayashi smiled lightly as the lioness walked into the clearing, trying his best to appear kind. He gave a light bow of his head, once more in attempts to be kind "My humblest appologys, I did not mean to intrude. I am Ayashi, a simple rouge, I was just hunting. I mean no offence by stepping onto your land, I was unaware of my surroundings. As I said earlier, I mean you no harm." Ayashi hoped that would pass for a polite introduction and an appology, as he was no good at appologys or being polite. The hyena had heard of the Kitwana'antara pride before, according to the rumors he had heard the Kitwana'antara pride was infected with a horribly deadly desese that killed quiet offten. He wondered if this lioness, Malaya, was infected by this desese. Regardless of his thoughts Ayashi simply sat where he was and awaited the lioness' evaluation of his appology. Ayashi managed to keep a light smile on his face that made him look friendly and kind, at least he hoped, he was not eager to get into a fight today.

"Quite alright Ayashi." She dipped her head accepting his apology. "We really don't mind rogues, except there is a disease here. You needn't worry that you'll catch it." Malaya smiled encouragingly. Some were worried about catching it and being confined, she knew.
"Are you passing through, or might hap you stay?" She inquired curiously. From what he had said, she didn't think he was interested in the pride. Still it didn't hurt to ask. Malaya remembered that he mentioned he'd been hunting aswell. "Prey is being rather shy today isn't it? I think it might be the heat. Are there no signs further out?" Maybe he could tell her if something was heading in.

Ayashi was glad the lioness had bought his act, he had been some what worried as some took offence to words those who acted "fake" but he had pulled through with his act and the lioness did not seem suspicious of him. What reason would she have to be anyway? It was not like he was hiding anything, he was just not acting like his normal self. Ayashi bowed his head once more in thanks "Thank you Malaya. I am sorry for stepping onto your pride's lands, even of it was an acsident." he bowed his head once more appologeticly. Ayashi was a little suprised at the lioness' first statement, he was unaware that nonlions could stay with the pride, regardless it did not change his answer. "No, I am sorry, I am just passing through." Ayashi was careful to keep a light smile on his face so he still seemed friendly. "As for prey, I saw some large game tracks going in that direction." he pionted in the direction he was speaking of, witch was further in the pride's lands "I had not seen many signs of small prey so I figured it was my best bet at a good meal, even if it was a long shot." he bowed his head yet again "I am sorry, I believe it is now your prey. I have no right to hunt on your lands. I am sorry." Ayashi wasn't sure why he bothered to appologize so much, but he figured he was better safe than sorry.

She wondered why the male kept apologizing for entering the pride lands. It wasn't like she minded a whole lot. He hadn't hunted anything, and she enjoyed meeting new faces. It gave her a chance to talk to someone unaffected by the disease. "Honestly don't worry about it."
Malaya nodded understandingly. This wasn't the place for any weak of heart. She felt it required a certain temperment to stay here. "That's quite alright. If you don't mind my asking. Where are you from? Where do you plan on going?" Even if he didn't know where he was headed, at least he could tell her where he'd been. She couldn't leave the pride though she patrolled the borders.
When he mentioned the prey, she turned her head to look in the direction. Direction determined, she faced him again. With any luck she'd be able to catch up and maybe bring something back. "Yes I believe they are. Thank you for telling me. I offered to do some hunting today." She chuckled softly. "I'm sure you'll be able to find something further out from our lands Ayashi."

Ayashi noted that the lioness appeared to be to getting irritated by his constant oppologys, so he decided to take his act down a notch. "Well, ever since I was a young pup I have been a nomad traveling wherever the prey gose, so I am not from anywhere in particular, neither am I going anywhere in particular. I just go where the prey gose, I must say, it has been quite a while since I have followed prey into a pride's lands. Just gose to show how sparse it has been I suppose." The hyena was tempted to ask Malaya if she had lived her whole life in the pride, but desided it was unwise since she may have been infected in some tragic way to be living among the infected pride. Ayashi realized his smile had fallen slightly when she looked away, but he was able to quickly smile again before she looked back at him. Ayashi dropped his paw to sit normally again. "Yes, I hope so. Has the hunting been well lately for your pride? In the rogue lands it hadn't been too bad until recently." Ayashi thought it would be a good idea to gather information since he was on the pride lands already.

She sighed and smiled to herself. Wouldn't it be nice to travel? Going where she wanted. Just like her mother. Except then she wouldn't have N'Seka. No she was happy where she was. Which was a good thing since she wouldn't have been allowed to leave. With a quick glance at the sun, she decided that she'd better end their meeting if she wanted a chance to catch up to the prey.
"I see. It must be very exciting. No I'm sure there is other prey around. It's just being sneaky today. Here I'll take you back to the border where you'll have better luck." Confidently Malaya headed toward the border. Being sure the hyena came with her. When she got close she looked for a landmark that was in the area. "There. You see that outcropping of rocks? Circle around the other side of it to the right and that'll keep you out of the lands claimed by us."
Malaya gave a smile. "Well enough. There is usually enough to go around. It was nice meeting you Ayashi. Safe travels." The black lioness stood watching him.

Ayashi bowed one last time to the lioness "Thank you, I will not cross into your territory again unless I am saying hello or something to that effect..." the hyena gave a laugh at the lack of words he could think of. "It was a pleasure to meet you Malaya, may the hunt be well for you." The hyena said before quickly walking out to the rogue lands, glad to be alone again and even happier to drop his happy act.
