Rodimus wasn't sure how he'd ended up in this frozen place. He'd been wandering for so long just trying to survive the chaos. Now the sun had begun to warm the frozen landscape and he'd had to grow used to the sound of cracking as the ice melted. He was grateful for the layers of clothing, clothing that many other ulaya had laughed at. Well no one would be laughing now. If there was anyone even remotely near...

For a moment he thought the brightness of the sun on the ice was playing tricks with his vision, because was that a rainbow flying by? But it zoomed by again and in behavior that couldn't be the result of reflection danced circles around him. He shook himself as he separated and dashed away. "What in the world?" he muttered, but before he could even think he was following the speeding rainbow. Whatever it was it was certainly more interesting than aimlessly wandering and it felt so very good to stretch his legs. As muscles loosened up he picked up his pace and the wingflaps on his jacket spread allowing him to turn jumps into glides increasing his speed as he chased the rainbow...

Any sense of time and speed were lost to the ulaya as he chased the rainbow. He did slow a bit as they entered a cavern and he dodged obstacles. Everything brightened when they reached a place where a hole had opened in the roof of the cavern. Roddy came to a stop and blinked to adjust to the change in the light. The rainbow had come to a stop of sorts, circling a spot right under the opening. The ulaya approached slowly and soon noticed that the rainbow was circling around something... or was that someone?

"Oh whoa... Hello?" he said cautiously approaching and trying to see past the blur of color in motion.

The rainbow was moving about so fast it was hard to tell at first just what it was so intent on. When he finally realized it was another ulaya he stopped inching and leaped the few feet to her side. He nuzzled her gently and realized how very very cold she was and how strained her breathing.
"Hey there," he said soothingly even as he shrugged out of his jacket. "My names Roddy, I don't know if you can hear me, but I'm here to help you." He drapped his jacket around her and nudged her to her side, trying to wrap her up to reduce the contact with the cold ground.

That accomplished to some extent, in spite of her lifeless state and the hard wing flaps in the jacket, he curled around her. "Come on now, lets get you warm....Your rainbow friend here went through a lot to get me here." In hopes of getting her circulation going, he began to groom her face and paws, the spots he could reach that weren't covered by the jacket.

Time stretched on and on and finally Roddy found himself dozing off. He was awakened when she started shivering. Yes, movement, that was a good sign right? He stayed beside her holding her tighter to try to counteract the violence of her waking body.
"It's going to be ok..." he said as much trying to reassure himself as trying to get this lovely rainbow haired lady to awaken. He wondered what had happened to her that she'd ended up in this frozen place and then of course there was the strange rainbow...
Then the motions of the rainbow-haired ulaya grew more violent and the rainbow moved in what could only be described as an excited fashion.

Life was returning but Rodimus worried that she would hurt herself in the process. He unwrapped himself from around her but still remained close to support her as wheezing breaths turned into a cough. Water.. could she need water? They were surrounded by melting ice, he picked up an icicle and held it close so that water dripped onto her mouth. "Comwon a cowuple wicks, some mice wawa to sooth your roat...." he said, speech slurred from talking around the icicle.

((translation "Come on a couple licks, some nice water to sooth your throat." wink ))

"You really should thank your little rainbow friend here, it let me to you." He'd actually been surprised by her first words of accusation, there was a story there but it was the most life she'd shown yet and he was taking that as the best possible sign. "And yes, getting out of here sounds like a good plan," he winced at the sounds of her joints. "You definitely need some more warmth and the sun just isn't penetrating enough down here to do the job."

In her convulsing and efforts to stand she'd knocked away the jacket he'd draped around her. "Can you move enough to help me get this on you. I don't want to hurt you, but I think this will help keep in what little body heat you're producing. Then, like it or not, I'm going to carry you out of here. Got that?"

He positioned the jacket ready to fit one paw through, "My name's Rodimus, but you can call me Roddy if you'd like."

Roddy decided not to get into an argument about the rainbow. He wouldn't be there and who knows what condition she would have been here without the rainbow. They could talk about it later. It was a painful process to get the jacket on her but they managed it. He smiled at her reaction. "See it helps hold in the warmth," then she tried to walk again, "but its not going to work any miracles."

He grinned at her name. "It's a pleasure to meet you Rainbow Dash, now lets get out of here." Roddy made sure the jacket was secure on her and the wingflaps folded down as small as he could get them. "Ok just lift your front leg up a bit if you can and i'll just scoot on under. This probably isn't going to be comfortable but try to just relax it'll make it a lot easier on both of us if you play the ragdoll. I'll do my best not to jostle you around too much." With a little leverage, a lot of squirming he managed to get her draped over his back.

He looked around and finally set off determined in the direction he'd come, she was thankfully light, probably from being a flyer, but this still was going to take all his strength. He looked back to see that the rainbow was following. "Let me know if I take a wrong turn, we were moving really fast along the way here."

Roddy was surprised at how fast he was able to move with his burden; all that wandering around must have made him stronger than he thought. With the rainbow leading he was able to move with more confidence until finally they were beneath the clear sky... He slowed breathing deeply of the fresh open air but let it out in a huff and curse as he noticed with Dash that the sky was already darkening.
He was already contemplating where they could possibly go from here when Dash asked him the same...
Roddy wasn't sure how far he'd traveled following the rainbow, but there was a place he'd been staying. It was a rocky den on the smallish side no ice and a bit warmer especially with 2 sharing their warmth. "I think I know a place... it's just a little hard to tell direction with everything melting and changing around here," he admitted. He looked around trying to get his bearings. The minutes ticked by until, "Ahh yes," he said finally finding a landmark in a pair of ridges that from the distance looked like rabbit ears. "Hold on Dash!"

As soon as he felt her respond he began to move gaining speed with every step until he settled into a rhythm. The closer they grew to the "ears" the clearer it was that one was far distant than the other and between them was a small grouping of evergreen trees and assorted boulders. It was among these boulders and a fallen tree that Roddy had made his den. Then they ran into a slight problem... the entrance was too small for them to fit through together. "Dash do you think you could try crawling through if I get you really close to the entrance. I could go in first and help pull you along too... " It was the only solution he could think of other than digging and that would take forever...
