Every word you're saying is a lie Run away my dear But every sign will say your heart is dead Bury all the memories Cover them with dirt Where's the love we once had? Our destiny's unsure Why can't you see what we had? Let the fire burn the ice Where's the love we once had? Is it all a lie? And I still wonder Why heaven has died The skies are all falling I'm breathing but why? In silence I hold on To you and I Closer to insanity Buries me alive Where's the life we once had? It cannot be denied Why can't you see what we had? Let the fire burn the ice Where's the love we once had? Is it all a lie? And I still wonder Why heaven has died The skies are all falling I'm breathing but why? In silence I hold on To you and I You run away You hide away To the other side of the universe Where you're safe from all that hunts you down But the world has gone Where you belong And it feels to late so you're moving on Can you find your way back home? And I still wonder Why heaven has died The skies are all falling I'm breathing but why? In silence I hold on To you and I Every word you're saying is a lie. - Fire & Ice // Within Temptation This is a private roleplay between x Yuki Bear x & Fea Line. Please do not post. Thank you!

Mist had been both dreading and highly anticipating the events of the last two months. Of all the nights she had spent with males, that one solitary night with Quiet Fog had given her things she never dreamed of having. Feelings for one single male.....and his pups. Curled up in the cave, her body wrapped around three wiggling newborns all fussing to get a seat at the table, Mist let out a content sigh as she rasped a pink tongue over her three gorgeous babies.
Her sky blue eyes blinked to stare out the entrance of the cave, half wondering and half hoping Fog would happen to just saunter by, peer inside to see her and his pups, and start up a family that Mist had always been secretly dreaming of. But deep down she knew that probably was too much to hope for. And still.... she wanted to see him badly. She couldn't exactly go out and look for him right now and that saddened her a bit. But each time she gazed at her pups, they reminded her of him and she dared to stare and day dream lazily.

Fog snapped the neck of the hare mercilessly, devouring it where he stood. He growled and tossed the remains to the side when he was finished. The past two months had been absolute hell.
His love had left him. His Mist. Gone.
Oh he hadn't believed it at first. He had sat there and waited for days, the deer he had caught for them decaying before his eyes, untouched. He had been convinced she would come back. That she had left to do something important and would be back soon.
After the second week his denial faded and he tossed the rotten deer out of his cave. Then he left.
His anger clouded his mind. How could he have trusted her? Everyone he ever got close to either left him or died. She left after their one night of passion. She used him!
But still a small part of him, deep within his heart, said that she had reasons. That she still loved him. That something was keeping her from coming back. Maybe she was in danger?
He banished those thoughts away as he snarled, looking for something else to kill and eat. He had been so hungry ever since she - no don't think about her!
An ever-present gnawing in his stomach caused the constant hunting. Though no matter how much he killed and ate, the pain never left him.
She had done this to him.
This was her fault.
He hated... he HATED.......... no.......
He loved her....
Fog let out a painful howl, smacking his front paws against the ground in anger.
She left him... why couldn't the thoughts of her leave too?
He let out a whine. All he could do was keep moving.
Collecting himself as best he could, Fog shook some of the rabbit's blood from his muzzle and continued to walk.

Hunger was gnawing at her stomach along with the hungry mouths of three pups. She hated leaving them alone and unguarded. It would seem her worst fears felt like reality every time she thought about leaving to get a quick bite to eat. No doubt something all mothers must fear, or so she kept telling herself. And yet the rumble in her core as she swiped a dry tongue across her muzzle made her ache. Just for a few moments... she wouldn't go far. She had done it before successfully a few times already....
With much protest from her little ones, Mist stood, rising on stiff legs as she nosed the pelt of previous prey around her pups, its warmth a temporary acceptable replacement for their missing mother.
She padded over to the mouth of the cave and lifted her nose to the sky. The scent of blood some distance off caught her, having been carried down by the wind. Her stomach gave a leap as she thought she might find quick and easy prey to feed herself so she could feed her young. And then her ears picked up on something else.
A howl.
Not just any howl either. Her stomach gave another jump but this time for a different reason. That howl... that pain filled howl, seemed so familiar. Yes, she was quite certain it was him. And coming this way no doubt, by how the blood scent seemed to grow slowly stronger.
But how would he react? Would he kill her for leaving him? How would she even explain? Should she go to him? Should she howl or make her presence known..... or should she wait?
No. No, she had to wait.... she couldn't leave them that long. She had to hope he would come by this direction.... the father to her pups. The wolf that haunted her dreams, sleeping and awake. That Fog that overtook her that stormy night and yet seemed to make everything else but that moment fade into the distance. The sound of the thunder that night was miles away.... quiet.
Quiet Fog. A name so fitting.....

Why did he continue?
The thought ran through his head as he claimed another hare's life, holding it in his jaws. The ache in his stomach had become too much to bare once more, clawing at his innards. He hungrily ripped apart the rodent, before dumping it unceremoniously on the ground like those before it.
He found himself often pondering the question of his continued existence in his head. His parents and siblings were long dead. His love rejected him and ran off. Away from him.
What did he have? What did he have, but his brief memories of their time together? The hopes and dreams that would never be?
The family he would never have.
A slight smell wafted towards him on the wind, snapping him abruptly from his melancholy musings. That scent! He closed his eyes and breathed it in deeply. Oh that scent. He knew that scent so well. He had memorized it. Stored it deep within his sensory memory. This was his love.
His love. His Mist.
....
The one that had left him...
His thoughts had taken a repetitive turn, often trying to dissuade him from thinking deeper into the problem he was facing. He paused in his brief elation at her scent, coming back to reality with a crash. Was this even real? Had he gone so far under that he was imagining her wherever he went again? It had happened once before, when he saw her eyes on a lake's surface. Those beautiful blue orbs stared back at him, and he had dived in, seeking her. He had nearly drowned, pulled from her gaze only by his lungs screaming for air.
Was this another attempt by his muddled mind to end his suffering?
Her scent wrapped around him, caressing his senses, and he found himself okay with that possibility.
He started to walk towards the smell, his gait unsteady, his eyes wild. Could this really be his Mist? The one he had been longing for?
If this was a cruel trick by his mind... then he'd let it happen. He had... grown tired. Life had a habit of giving him things he loved and then ripping them from him. His parents... his sister... his lover.
He thought back to when he had been hunting that buck those long 2 months ago. As he had been stalking it, he had been debating in his head about mating. Although they hadn't known each other for too long at all... Fog believed that there was such a thing as soul mates. His mother had often talked about her first meeting with his father, gushing about the instant connection. He understood it now. When he caught the impressive buck between his jaws, Fog had decided. He would ask her to become his mate, giving her the buck as a proposal, showing her that he could provide for her for as long as they would live... But when he got back she was gone... and his proposal rotted away along with his hope at happiness.
He let out a whine, staring ahead at the forest. He would follow the scent. Whether it be real, or his mind - it did not matter.
Should he follow her scent off of a cliff, so be it.
At least she would be the last thing on his mind.

She didn't know how long she could wait outside. Her pups were beginning to whine back inside the cave as it didn't take them long to realize the pelt was not their mother. And her stomach still ached with hunger.
She could smell fresh blood being slain and it about drove her mad. Just as mad as she had been trying to sty away from Fog while she was with pups for two months. Probably the most stupidest idea of her life....and yet she couldn't explain why she felt she made the right decision. Why she felt she needed to be alone.... until now.
She had made up her mind..... or so she thought.
With a slight yip, she sprang a few feet forward, like an excited pup seeing her mother. And then she stopped. She paused and glanced back at the cave before turning her head in the direction Fog's scent and howl came from. She suppressed a whine in her throat and stared hard into the distance, willing Fog's figure to come into view.
"M'Lord.... return to me..." she said in a defeated soft tone as she glanced to a bush where a rabbit darted from.
Too upset with herself and her feelings, she let the rabbit slip away as her hunger and pain clawed at the very pit of her core. She stood, watching one direction, taking a few steps forward before taking a few steps backwards, caught in a limbo between the two things she now loved more than ever on this earth.
Her love and her pups.
She thought about howling... telling him she was here so he'd come faster, but part of her didn't want to risk it being another male all together..... one who might kill her pups just because he could to make her his. Another whine threatened to burst from her muzzle and she flattened her ears against her head. Perhaps it was a chance she would have to take?
She stalked back to the entrance of the cave and stared at her little bundles of joy. They grew restless now, almost frightened their mother had been gone so long. She knew she would die for them....but she also felt she would die if she never saw Fog again.
And so she lifted her head to the sky and let out a slow, haunting howl, hoping he would come and find her, wherever he was.

His slow, unsteady steps paused as a howl ripped through his head. His eyes widened, ears standing up to attention. The howl came from the direction his love's scent was leading him to.
Fog stared hard at the ground, scraping it with his claws in agitation. Could it be that it wasn't his mind? That it was really her? If it was her... why did she sound so sad? Was she in trouble? Hurt? The possibilities were endless. His brief hallucinations of Mist had never included sounds - only glimpses of her beautiful figure. This was... this was real!
Mist was somewhere in these woods. She had heard him and was calling for help! She was hurt... she was hurt!!
His eyes grew wild at the thought of his love being wounded, bleeding out somewhere and waiting for him to save her. Reason flew from his mind as he started sprinting towards her scent, letting out a long, strong howl. He was coming for her. His love. He was going to save her! And then they could be together forever!

After she had finished her sorrowful howl, she crept back intot he den to snuggle around her whimpering pups. No second had she curled tight around them than Fog's howl pierced the sky like lightning on that fateful night she was drawn into his cave.
Her ears perked as she gazed at the entrance of the cave, a soft smile spread across her muzzle as she nestled exhausted into the fur of her make shift home. She shifted as the puppies nuzzled up to her to drink from a belly that was empty itself. Her stomach growled louder and churned in pain but it didn't matter. In a few moments it really wouldn't matter.
He was coming. He was really coming. She swore she could already hear his panting drawing around the corner as he sped to reunite the two and their new family. In her mind, nothing could go wrong now and she had not the faintest idea that his return just might not be the glorious reunion she was imagining.

He was panting hard now, strength he hadn't thought he still possessed pumping his legs faster than he thought imaginable. Where was she? He couldn't smell blood, just her. Just her wonderful scent. His Mist. Where was she hiding?
His nails scraped on rock as he trailed her scent, blocking out everything else around him. He skidded to a halt at the mouth of a cave very much like the one he used to dwell in. He allowed a small whine as he thought of the irony of being reunited in a cave like this. He cautiously entered, unsure if he wanted to see a hurt Mist. But seeing Mist at all would be a blessed balm that would sooth his wounded heart at least for now.
His eyes adjusted to the dim light in the cave and there she was... his love. She looked skinnier, malnourished, but there was no sign of blood from what he could see. He couldn't tear his eyes away from her face.
"Mist," he whined, falling to her level on the ground and nuzzling her face. "My Mist,"

At last, he was here. His scent filled the entire cave upon his arrival like an explosion of rain and thunder. As he crept closer she extended her head forward and pressed her nose into his fur to take a deep breath. "Your Mist... yes. And my Fog." she said softly, so as to not startle the pups further.
Had he seen them yet? Did he even care? They were his...surely he could tell.... right? She hadn't been with any other male but he since then. But did he want a family? The fear of him not wanting one was part of what drove her to leave in the first place.... she couldn't bare to see rejection of that kind.
"My prince.... " she began, trying to find the words to best tell him first, but the sheer comfort and touch of his fur was enough to send her into a blissful sleep she had been desiring for a while now. "T...They are yours." she said with a soft smile and drew her tail back for him to see properly. She watches his eyes closely...hopefully.
