It was a beautiful summer day, the low hanging blaze along distant mountains casting the skies in beautiful shades of red and orange. One particular mare was content in admiration, of both that and the scene which played from below the rolling hill of the meadow. She could see the families of fellow soquili and their youth, running and playing in the balmy breeze. Of the families she noticed it was mixed, she could see unicorns, regulars and the sorts yet one of which caught her eye. It was a little halfbreed, much like herself yet this one was a Alicorn. She could not see a winged father around but could see the doting uni mother encourage and watch her pride and joy try to hover in the air with untrained wings.
This brought such a stunning smile on her face as she remembered when she too was a fledgeling trying to take off for her first time.
While her time was mostly spent wandering, she took her role as a guardian very seriously; even though she knew she would never be a tried and true angeni with her own realm...this was more her specialty anyways. To help others was a passion, an unshakable desire straight to her very core as she could not stand to see anyone in pain and suffering. It often was a lonely life, but often the gratitude of the ones she help lead to temporary companionship and able to see lifestyles of all kinds. If this was life, she was pleased and would continue out without a second thought. Besides, her life had been blessed since the day she was born in her eyes; so she was the last person who needed any kind of attention.
Chucking softly she moved her body to continue down towards the south to give the herd their privacy back when she heard a gasp when she was about a few steps into her journey. Turning her head back around she could see the little alicorn quite high in the air with his mother pleading him to come down, yet as most foals wouldn't listen. Maybe it was bad timing, or another test of her resolution from above did a gust sweep across as the foal was well above the treetops thrusting his wings as hard as he could to gain altitude; knocking him off balance as he began to fall head first.
Without a thought she burst into gallop towards them, her golden wings spreading to thrust her off the ground; her speed doubling with all four wings in powerful synchronization. She was but a gust of wind which passed right through the mobile herd who scrambled to try and catch the colt, but she scouted her route before she was at their side and was but a large ghost amidst the chaos. With one down flap she shot up at the colt, colliding with him mid air so he impacted with her back and winced as his horn had sliced her feathered appendage before she folded a set of wings against him to keep him stable. With only two left, she doubled her flapping speed as she slowly lowered them both back to the ground and amongst his family and friends.
As his mother approached in a emotional mess the mare only smiled sympathetically, co-operating with the other mares and stallion to take the crying and frightened colt from her back.
"Its nothing...really. Its the least I can do..." She urged modestly, shaking her head to their praises and offered but a sheepish smile. She did spend a few short minutes to make sure the little fellow was alright, before she said her goodbye's and moved on. Bindi's life was indeed blessed, with the ability to help others granted to her along with health and contentment. However, she did notice the lingering pain of her wing which had been scathed in the rescue; so as she walked along the meadow and the herd dissipated from sight she began her search for a body of water to clean her wing off in.

The stallion could smell the fragrant scent of water heavy in the air. Picking his way through the lush, foliage of the woods, his wings folded against his sides, Xocoyolcoatl honestly had no idea where he was. Granted, that wasn't entirely true; the Angeni of Knowledge understood better than anyone else exactly where his hooves lingered. He knew when the river had been created, the last time its had flooded, the alkalinity of its waters, and the type of creatures that might live in its waters. He knew too much about this very spot, and unfortunately, it tended to leave him in a daze.
His domain was both a blessing, and a bit of a curse, if only because it often left him spacy, and terribly unsure of his surroundings. Oh, there were many things Xocoyolcoatl didn't know, but the amount of information he had gathered over his time in the Kawani was vast. It was part of the reason the stallion hesitate to continue on his journey; every passing day, he was reminded of something new, something different. And learning brought only new knowledge, and with that knowledge, he . . . became terribly overwhelmed. It was often difficult to truly focus, so it left him somewhat poor company. But at least if he stayed in a familiar area, he could meditate, and could find a sense of peace of mind. He could control his thoughts, his ideas, all the information that he possessed, and tuck it away.
Unfortunately though, as much as he desired to linger by the river, he knew he could not. He had his own task at hoof, his own story. He had come to find his brother. . . . but. . . where? The stallion hadn't seen his sibling in ages, and had no idea where he might be. The most he could figure was that Cuah was somewhere in this lands. But until he was able to shuffle through, until he was able to meet someone who might grant him more information, until he was able to focus, he had . . . no . . . idea.
So it was, the stallion found himself at the edge of the waters. Lowering his head, he closed his eyes and drank. He was trying to silence, settle the quiet and information within his head. Just a little peace. . . That was what he desired. Just a little quiet, a way to anchor his thoughts. Right now, he was mulling over water. That was a start.

Coming from the meadow Bindi made her way slowly into the brush, while she was by no means a large mare like her brethren Angeni could be; it was still cramped for her thanks to the dense growing underbrush snagging at her long and often unruly hair. The curls would snag on branches, fray when combed against the bark of trees....it was just unsightly.
Sighing gently Bindi thought of when her father would turn human simply to comb her hair; it was such a special moment in time when she could admire his ability and he could narrate to her stories of old. While she would never have the ability to transform like her peers, he would tell her perhaps in a sense of sympathy she would be able to do great things too. Like any humble filly she believed every word from his lips with the entirely of her being, dreaming of the day she too could be everything he imagined her to be.
"Mom would have loved this too..." The mare smiled to herself, knowing how much her unicorn mother who could not access the worlds available to those with wings enjoyed her time on the ground. Especially the dense forests where she could breathe in the smell of the world around her. Bindi was pleased that her father could guide her spirit back to its realm when she passed, although saddening she was truly blessed to have such a kind hearted mare as her mother and the time they'd spent together.
Yet! There were more pressing matters at hoof, the wing was starting to ache and swell; able to feel the few droplets of blood dripping onto her side.
Able to smell the water from her location she pressed forward, using her uninjured secondary pair to try and scoop up her hair and keep it from ensnaring in her surroundings. Luckily for her she had breached the forest line and emerged in the small beach clearing of the river twisting through the forest. Relieved and greatful she was able to come across it she was stopped in her tracks when she noticed someone was already at the shore enjoying the water.
Oh dear. She was going to bother the poor thing if she went over there to make use of the cool moving waters.
Looking a little distressed and worried at her choices she looked north, then south...wondering if she went a little further away she wouldn't bother him...although on closer inspection she did notice he too was an Angeni, a much larger one than she at that. Surely someone as important as a pure one wouldn't desire bothering.
Oh dear.

Perhaps the stallion would have missed Bindi's approach completely, had instinct not been accustomed to taking hold of his movements. The large, dual-winged, stallion was often so lost in his own thoughts and considerations that he sometimes neglected to be . . . quite as on-top of things as one might expect an Angeni to be. Xocoyolcoatl honestly just had too much on his mind, and struggling to find the balance of the moment, and all the small details, was still a bit of a challenge. So it was, when the pale mare appeared from the thicket, the stallions ears swiveled, and he did lift his head to look.
Trouble? No. Another's presence? Definitely.
The bells that hung loosely from his golden headpiece jangled, while his amber eyes fell upon Bindi. His expression was neutral, though a small, almost shy smile did cross his own features. His mind, like a great database, began to pour through everything he knew about mares, attempting to categorize the female. She was . . . new. A uni-angeni, that much was easily found, with golden wings, and a cream base. Her mane and tail washed down her like cool waters, the softest, a pale blue that was almost, almost, akin to white. While he knew much about angeni and mares in general, it was the specifics of Bindi he lacked.
Manners, this time, instead of instinct told him he was staring. That wasn't right either.
Almost wincing, the stallion quickly forced himself to focus on the present moment. "Uh. . . . " He started, trying to find his words. How long had it been since he had last communicated with another? He knew exactly how long, how many minutes, seconds, miliseconds, and how that clock had now completely reset itself. No. Don't get distracted, focus. FOCUS. "Forgive me, m'lady. . . I . . . meant not to stare. I am . . . a bit rusty with social interaction." He found the words, although it was almost a struggle. His voice was deep, but not unkind; rusty from disuse, but the gentleness of angeni nature rang true. It did appear as if he spoke from some sort of daydream, as if he was . . . . just a little far away, but that was unable to be helped at this time.
He couldn't help it. There was such a thing as too much information, and the Angeni of Knowledge was absolutely inundated with such a thing. The catalog was ever growing, and for some reason, it wasn't quite as easy to manage in this physical form. Before he had come down to seek out his sibling, he had been a master of knowledge. . . . but here? In this body? It often left him as if in a dream. It would take some time yet before he found peace of mind. . . . that was, perhaps, part of the reason he was seeking out his brother. There was much his sibling could learn from him, but a familiar presence might help organize his constant stream of knowledge.

Flicking her ears back when the others had rose to look her way, she wasn't sure what to say. There was no instinct like there was when she jumped into the fray of chaos to rescue someone, to draw them from harm's path. That interaction came easily, albeit her humble behavior didn't allow her to linger long. Besides, it wasn't her place amongst the preexisting bonds of love and trust, she was a fleeting outsider; there to restore the bond and then to vanish as easily as she came.
This was different though, he looked like he was in no distress, and she had stumbled into his life by pure accident of needing the fellow amenities. He was a pure one at that, and by the look of him an impressive sort albeit not knowing anything about them. Bindi was blessed with an abnormally keen instinct on fellow soquili, and it wasn't leading her astray this time.
The staring didn't register until he spoke that she too realized she was doing no better, offering her own smile to match the one given to her but on her face it seemed to light up her features no matter how small. "Please heed no need, it was I who barged in on you." Besides, she'd learned from experience Angeni did often search for anything labeling her from being a pure one...which just happened to be smack dab on her forehead and also swaying from her backside. "I was just looking for some water to ease an injury...I wasn't aware this spot would be taken."
In retrospect, it might have not been the best reason for her intruding; but she wasn't being dishonest. Even if one couldn't claim a spot she had the notion others didn't like to be bothered unless it was in necessary to their health. Naive, but she knew no better since her trekking off on her own with a single goal and task in mind. The stallion was being so kind about it too, Bindi continued to count her blessings and remembering something let out a quick yelp and bowed her head deep as pools of hair cascaded on either side to the ground at her hooves.
"I apologize, it was rude not to at least introduce myself. My name is Bindi, daughter of Dritan, previous Angeni of Courage and Akilai." Not that she was sure it made a difference, both were dead after all but she still felt obligated to say such to fellow Angeni.
"I...can go use the water elsewhere. I did not mean to intrude..." Bindi breathed, looking up from her bowed head. He did look lost in thought when he first raised his head. Must have been something grand on his mind for him to act they way he was.

Xocoyolcoatl kept his gaze gently upon the female before him. He didn't wish to stare, but he also knew it polite to look others in the eyes, so they might know his intentions. Eyes so very often portrayed mood and feeling, and it also allowed the stranger to know that she had his direct attention. He only hoped he didn't appear too strange with his thoughts constantly drifting in and out of his stream of consciousness, as if in a dream.
Thankfully though, he could focus when he put forth the effort. The angeni female before him was a good distraction, and gave him something to settle on, something to think about and consider. The way she moved, every little motion was something he could absorb and consider; with how she dipped her head and bowed, with how she apologized for being rude (or what she believed to be rude) to her name and the names of her parents. All of it was information to the stallion, something he was able to absorb and keep in mind should he ever need such information.
To some, it might seem pointless. But Xocoyolcoatl couldn't help the fact that his domain demanded he keep up with the changes. One small word could just as easily change the world, after all; it was best he continued to gain knowledge of even the most mundane. When the cream coated female suddenly seemed to wish to retreat, Xocoyolcoatl had to wonder why? Not only was she a focus point for him, someone he could consider without being drown in the information of the world around him, but she had done nothing wrong to need to leave.
Hadn't she said she had come to the river to heal herself? To clean her wounds?
"Please, m'lady . . . There is no need to retreat on my account. This stream is to be shared, and if you are wounded, I . . . beg of you to reconsider." The large stallion actually took a few steps back, as if to retreat himself. He wanted to give her room, wanted her to see that he meant not harm. If any should leave the waters edge, it was him, but he did worry some -- he knew not where to go.
For being an Angeni of Knowledge, he was far from being omnipresent. There was still much he did not know, or at least much eh was consciously aware of. Dipping his own head, the bells against his head-dress jingling softly with the movement, Xocoyolcoatl could only be a bit of a gentleman. "It is good to meet you . . . .Bindi." He tested her name, and found it good. He also realized the name of Dritan sounded most familiar.. He was certain he had heard of it before, but . . . . now was not the time or place for such considerations. "I'm Xocoyolcoatl, Angeni of Knowledge. It is a pleasure to meet another this day," he spoke kindly, lifting his heads to let his gaze. "It is an honor."

As she watched him, and how beautiful he was on his hooves which was a given grace of the purebreds, Bindi couldn't help that sense of awe lingering on each stolen glance she gave him. Normally she wasn't this awestruck, but there was something about meeting fellow Angeni which gave her that taste of the old days she missed so dearly. As he spoke up she could feel her cheeks tint with ruby hue, lifting her head once more as he spoke in kindness; having for a brief moment forgotten about her injured wing. It may not have meant much to anyone else, but she was sincerely touched to the bottom of her heart and back that he was caring enough to offer to share the amenity with her.
"Xocoyolcoatl...please." She urged, emotion flooding into her tones as she took a gentle step forward. "Pleasure and honor is all mine...to meet such a kind soul as you." She smiled, the chimes on his headdress were simply wonderful; she wondered if he enjoyed its sweet sound when he moved as much as she had in this moment.
"How about, I at least go but a few steps down from you so that I do not contaminate the current." Bindi offered, flicking her tail as she walked over to the stream with her own light steps along the river rocks; passing him by and only moved a step or two away from his current position. "It is not every day I get to meet someone like you..." She began, looking over to him with a smile as she stepped into the current. Shivering slightly as the water nipped at her legs she pressed on, enough to touch the water with her belly as her long tail floated above the water; swirling and moving with the current. Dipping her wings into the water she winced at the momentary pain while the water began to wash away the blood.
"I meet many half-breeds along my travels, but its rare to meet one blessed with ancient soul and a domain of their own." She spoke softly, using her other wing to brush the debris away from the wound site.
"What business, if you don't mind, do you have in the Kawanii lands? Sorry I speak so out of hoof. I would not lie to say this is rather exciting for me to be in the presence of one such as yourself, Xocoyolcoatl..." Bindi turned her head away a bit, finding herself blushing once more. Perhaps she was being a little too embarrassing, pestering such a high being with her questions. Her father had business down here once, which lead to him meeting her mother. Yet with a domain of Knowledge...well the possibilities could be endless on why he tread the soil.
Wincing once more she looked down to her wing, noticing that she indeed had a considerable wound; wondering momentarily to herself how much time she would be grounded for at this rate. A few feathers had been torn from the flesh, but nothing that would hinder her flight once it had healed properly.
Oh bother.

The stallion's ears pricked and turned to focus on the pale mare when she spoke, trying to sort out the emotion that colored her words. She truly seemed grateful to him that he encouraged her to step to the river, as if it were some honor that he treated her in such a manner. Peculiar, really, for why would anyone treat another so differently? The stream was not his own, and Bindi appeared to be completely harmless and non-aggressive. . . .
Still, the stallions thoughts drifted as quickly as they came. He decided that if she felt more comfortable stepping away to clean her wounds, than such was her perogitive. He did not wish to make her uncomfortable, especially as he was doing little but loitering. "You are far too kind," he assured, glancing away as she entered the water. It wouldn't be right to watch her clean her wounds, or make her more self-conscious. Turning to the side, trying to keep his thoughts focused on the mare, to not slip back in to his fluid frame of mind, the stallion grasped at her words.
. . . someone like him? Ah. His breed, his species.
Peculiar really, as she came from angeni blood and stock. Did she not spend much time in the company of others like herself? Half-breeds. . .travels. . . . so she was a wanderer? Ancient soul. Domains. His thoughts were colored with ideas and considerations, but he quickly fished through and gave a small shake of his head. ". . . . I do not believe my soul to be too ancient," he assured her with a small smile. ". . . but you are one of the first I have met since my arrival." He explained honestly. It was the truth. There had been a small handful of others whom had crossed his path, but they did not stay long or did not speak to him.
Perhaps it was just as well.
When the mare questioned -- and then apologized for asking -- his business in the Kawani, that was something he knew and could speak of strongly. It was his first mission, his first task, really. . . . and the entire reason for his coming to the lands in the first place! "I am glad that my company is not . ..tiring to you." Tiring, like the sleep of night, like that knowledge that most animals slept when bored, that there were not quite 24 hours in a day. . . that there were - - no no. Focus. "Er. . " Another slight shake of his head. "I came here in search of my brother, the Angeni of Learning. Perhaps you have heard of him?" Xocoyolcoatl almost had a hint of wistfulness in his words. He knew the answer without her speaking such, but it felt right to ask. . . . There was much knowledge he did not have, but he was quite doubtful that she knew of her brother.
Even he knew not where he roamed, or where he might be. He knew exactly how far the Kawani stretched, and it was substantially large. . . but he did not know where one particular soquili might have taken up home. He would be not be reunited anytime soon.
Ah, but here he was considering his younger sibling while in the company of such a gentle mare. One that was wounded, of all things! Injured, bleeding, in need of aid, and he was doing nothing but being a fool. ". . . is your wing all right? Might there be something I can do to aid your recovery?" Medicinal plants. . .herbs. . . . ways to keep down inflammation . . . . ways to encourage healing. . . how to avoid infection. . . . The ideas whirled through his head, with the knowledge not quite out of reach. He did not have much power when it came to being an angeni, but he could offer an arsenal of information to those who asked the right questions.

Flicking her ears over to the stallion on the bank, a warm look drew over her face to see he had turned to give her privacy, or that was what she was under the impression of anyways. She thought it to be a very kind gesture, although it wasn't like she was birthing or anything out of the ordinary, yet for Bindi it was something which warmed her heart. It was what made every day to be better than the last, and how she had never been truly angry in her life...there was so much joy to be found in life and those who made each day simply divine.
Laughing merrily for a moment on those light and airy tones, she closed her eyes for but a moment. "Well I do not believe that either...you are very refreshing, and not dusty at all. Besides," Bindi mused, only momentarily as she noticed in his demeanor that they had come onto a serious subject. "You are one of the first who I have spent so much time with as well. Although I have been here for quite some time." Perhaps a depressing detail, but that was life and Bindi did encounter many others...but more so those who were repaying her kindness. Bindi treasured these kind souls, but she knew they did not categorize into that elusive friendship folder in her life.
Needless to say, she was a mare of very few social folders.
"I hope I have made a decent impression for you then." Bindi folded her wings back against her side and shifted in the water, moving back to the shore but still remained knee deep.
As the mare listened as Xocoyol began to speak more, her eyes lit up like none other at the mention of his brother. So this wonderful fellow had family, down here in the lands no less!! It was exciting, for at least someone to have family and none the less was in search of him. Bindi could only wish she knew his location to help him out in his quest...but alas he was the only purebred she knew of in these lands.
"I'm sorry...I'm afraid I don't." Her face faltered, genuinely saddened she could not have been more helpful. However, she did recall something, but was momentarily distracted by his concern over her well being as once more her cheeks heated up and burned under the attention.
It simply was something she wasn't used to.
"Oh!" She looked down to her sore appendage, smiling sheepishly as she stepped closer to the shore to his proximity. Holding out her wing for them both to see she looked a little more solemn. "I'm not sure...I've had yet to get an injury on my wing before...does it look bad? Usually I try and clean them with water...but my other wounds have left scars each time..." Turning a little to the side she lifted her wings and revealed an awful looking scar marring along her backside where it looked like something had attempted to rip off her very wings. "I didn't know what else to do, and never really learned much before heading out to the real world." The mare shook her head and turned to face him once more before continuing where she had originally left off.
"I will say this though, I know of another Angeni who may be able to help. She has been around longer than I, and has a fairly...well...idea of others in these lands. Or at least her family does." She said merrily, tossing her mane to the side once more. "I can point you in her direction, I would take you but I fear I would only slow you down with my flight hindered." Bindi would be excited to aid him in any way she could, after all, he had been oh so kind to her. It was the very least she could do!

Xocoyolcoatl listened to the mare as she spoke, considering her words, and doing his best to focus on her and not the eternal clutter of information which swirled through his mind. As time wore on within his presence in the Kawani, he thought he was learning better focus and control, but it was still not easy. There was still much which caused distraction, which pulled him in a million different directions all at once and left him somewhat overwhelmed.
It was not easy being master of his domain, but it was his task, and a burden he wore happily. It was his duty to inform, his duty to know; and while there was much out there he did not yet know, he hoped he might someday learn. Which was, in part, why he did wish to seek out his beloved brother. Together, there was much good they could do in the world, much they could offer.
It greatly surprised the stallion to find out the goodhearted angeni before him had not a plethora of friends and companions. While he understood the roaming lifestyle could be difficult in keeping companions, he might have thought others would still dally with her while she was around. "Ah, you. . . have indeed made a good impression. I am only sorry that you do not have more support or acquaintances." Such a shame that the spirits would deny her such things. . . . But he was certain they had their reasons, as confusing and confounding as they might be at the time. "Perhaps we might. . . change one another's records of acquaintanceship?"
He was not surprised when the mare admitted her lack of knowledge on the subject. He was certain she knew not of her brother, as unfortunately, many appeared quite ignorant on the subject. He did not blame them, though, for finding one particular stallion out of the entire Kawani was not easy or simple. Perhaps though, it was the journey he was meant to learn from and live for, and not the end result.
When the mare moved closer to shore, and spoke of her wing, he turned back to face her. He studied the wound on the wing, flashes of information telling him what part of the wing had been wounded, general heal times, knowledge of unicorn's and the aid they might provide. But Bindi was a unicorn. When she showed him the scars that raked the rest of her body, the stallion could not help but wince, his brows knitting together in concern. "My good lady, Bindi. . . I am sorry you have needed to suffer so. Please forgive my impertinence but. . . does your healing ability do little upon such wounds?" He questioned gently. He did not wish to call her out on the spot, but he was concerned, and unsure whether her magic was simply too weak to heal herself, or if she were unaware of such a thing.
"The wound will need good cleaning. If we can find a healer, perhaps they can. . . . help assist. I think with time though, your wing should heal well, provided it does not. . . get infected." Hmm. Perhaps seeking out a unicorn would not be an unwise course. He would need keep an eye out for one on his journey, especially if the good lady might wish to continue to aid him.
She could not fly and was thus in need of someone to keep the darkness -- and there was darkness within the Kawani -- at bay. Besides which, he was wise enough not to trust himself with her directions alone. All he needed was a flash of inspiration, a new rush of information to intrigue him, and her directions might very well get lost in a sea of knowledge. "If. . . . If you might walk with me to this other, I could use . . . . your aid." He had not enough pride to feel shame in his innocent request -- he knew how he worked, and he did often need help from others in keeping him focused. "I am not well versed in these lands, and fear I might forget your directions as I . . . .tend to lose much without an anchor to focus on. If it is not much of a burden, that is; I would hate to further take up more of your time, or pull you away from your desires."
Usually, such anchors came in the form of other soquili. When he might reunite with his brother, then he could shift such a burden from strangers to family. It would be better, once reunited-- and perhaps by then, he might have conquered his lack of focus.

Tenderly drawing her graze up to him as she listened to him speak, she found herself drawn to his every word; as if she would be waiting on some grand new secret about the stallion. Of course, his secrets were everything about him to the mare...and as the sole one who'd been in her company for the longest; she was eager to learn about her dear....acquaintance. Surely it was much to early for full blown friendship!
"It makes me relieved then!" She said in a chipper tone, nothing dampening her mood now. "Its alright though, it would be tough to leave friends when I am off helping. I'm sure it would break my heart to have to say goodbye to someone I care about - even if it wasn't forever." It was truth, perhaps it really was her keeping her from solid friendships; that slowly, with each goodbye it would eat away at her heart time after time.
Woe was such strong feelings.
Yet as his offer, her eyes widened a little as she felt her stomach churn uncomfortably. Change the record? It looked as if he may have stated something along the line of change the stars or make night into day by the way the news sunk into her; and made her joyous beyond belief. He would do that for her? Of course he would...this stallion was so kind, she was sure he could do no wrong even if he tried really really hard. With cheeks ablaze with her delight at such a offer, she felt if it was any cooler she would have been steaming off her face...but luckily the tint was all there was.
"I...I would really like that! Very much!" She blurted out, quickly covering her mouth with one of her wings. "I mean...." Oops....well that didn't look desperate at all! She only hoped he didn't think ill of her after that.
As he inspected her wing she too looked down as if trying to see what he was thinking in his mind; by the way his eyes studied the marred appendage she knew he was deep in thought. "It would have been worse suffrage on others if I didn't step in. They tell tales of those who had been spared greater tradegy..." Even if it was to the opposite effect for the mare, while saving those from injury or worse she took on the brunt of the situation; resulting in wounds and scars like the ones riddling her. "Well..." His question caught her a little off guard, and she felt the memories of the past well in her mind's eye. "My dad was so courageous...he would jump into any fray without hesitation to do what was right. He was a pure angeni, so naturally he had some of his own healing properties. However he was not a healer, he was a protector and so he never gave much thought or time into learning the art. My mother....well she was a great healer; but thanks to my wings my dad insisted I remain with him with the other Angeni. There was no one who was willing to spend the time to train me when I was younger; as the art of summoning the magic of healing comes differently between Unicorns and Angeni - despite the magic doing the same thing." She smiled, albeit a bit sadly. "My body naturally heals itself faster than if I was any other species...but that's it. I have no control over it, especially to heal myself." She was useless with her unicorn blood, just as she was too muddied for any Angeni abilities other than her ability to sense evil scarcely.
"I am no strangers to infection....yet flesh is different than wings, I'd fear to reap the reprocussions." She admitted, especially something so vital to her very being.
Folding her ears back she felt that overwhelming sense rise up again, accompany him....perhaps it was too good to be true. Not only would she have the opportunity at friendship, she could help him in his quest to find his brother! Besides, he said he needed her help, and that was what she did - help others! "Of course I can!" She blurted again, wincing as she cursed her lack of a filter for such abrupt emotions. "I mean...It would be my pleasure. If she can help, it may cut your travels in half instead of wandering around hoping by chance to catch some information. It would be no burden at all...I mean...this is what I do. Doesn't make any difference fending off an attacker, or helping a....friend...." she tested the word, not wanting to upset him in case that was too bold a statement, "find his brother! Plus...I am little good with this wing right now....at least I can feel useful with the information I have handy."
Chuckling softly as the wind found her plethora of pale waved locks and pushed the tips to dance around her face and hooves the mare smiled, genuine through and through. "Its been a while since I'd been on what could be called an adventure."

Xocoyolcoatl didn't seem at all bothered by the mare's enthusiasm. The stallion was far too relaxed to easily be offended, and was certainly a little bit too spacey to have noticed any social faux pas. He was not a judgmental angeni, and outside of a legitimate threat, it was difficult for him to comprehend what might be strange, peculiar, or a little off beat. As far as he were concerned, Bindi seemed to be a perfectly kind mare, and one whom was far too generous with her time! To help a strange stallion like himself, to go on a journey with him that might not end anytime soon was amazingly charming. It was very sweet of her to offer, though he did have hope that he might one day be reunited with his beloved and lost brother.
For all that he was the Angeni of Knowledge, there was much he did not know.
So it was, the stallion did look up and away from her wing, giving himself a genuinely happy smile. He tried hard to tuck Bindi's name and features away, to keep them close to the forefront of his mind -- he wanted to make sure he remembered that he would be with her now, that he should follow her, should protect her, should they run into unsavory sorts. "You are far too kind," he condoned, giving a dip of his head in appreciation. "Far too . . .generous. Though I . . . certainly would appreciate the aid." And that was exactly what she was giving him. Though he knew not where their path might lead, he would be most glad for the company. "An adventure. . . . is a good way to put it. Feel no obligation to . . .stay," he spoke in his usual lethargic manner. "But I will . . . appreciate your company for however long you . . .choose to remain."
And that was the truth!
So it was, the stallion let his gaze slide back down to the mare's wing. It took him a moment to recall her previous explanation, the knowledge that she did not know how to use her abilities. He pondered uni-angeni and the unicorns he met, and while the knowledge of how a unicorn might use their horn tickled his thoughts, he possessed no unicorn blood. Still, he might meet a unicorn along the way, might be able to convince them to heal the mare's wing. "Well, we shall . . . take care of your wing as we . . . go. And should we meet a healer . . . we might. . . . tend to it." Perhaps, he thought to himself, once settled, they might find someone who could teach the mare how to utulize her powers. . . but only if she wished to learn! His brother might help with that, too. . .

From a day which had all inclination to be another lonely and nomadic stretch, it was amazing that a chance encounter had completely changed that and from the sounds of it the next several weeks. It felt nice to have purpose again, helping the slightly estranged stallion find his brother. All in all, Bindi felt an air of excitement to meet someone who was like Xocoyolcoatl; for this colorful stallion had been ever so nice to her.
She was more than eager to repay such kindness, no matter the length of time it took to find his brother. Besides, if she came across others who were in trouble she was sure she'd be able to keep doing her self proclaimed duty in the meantime.
"Nonsense. Its a part of who I am, I would be betraying my heart and soul to not aid someone in their need - no matter how small or large the situation. As i've said....its not like I have any ties here to worry about; my time is limitless to finding someone else who could use some help." And really...that didn't happen too often - or at least ones which required her assistance in the long haul. Some of them boiled down to just asking directions, or where some food or drink were in relevance to their location. It was rather simple for her to fly up and scout quickly; yet the job was over in just a quick amount it time from there too. Smiling broadly, Bindi added, "I'll stay as long as you need me, Xocoyol....oh.....do you like to be called that? Or do you have another nickname you'd prefer?"
Or...maybe he didn't want a nickname.
"I could just as well use your full name...if that's what you'd like." Bindi offered, although he was an amazingly kind soul, she still wanted to appease him the best she could. Glancing down at her wing she nodded eagerly, although it still pained her, in the excitement of her company she was slowly forgetting the fact she'd hurt it...a good sign that she could focus on the task at hand till they maybe found some help. "I'd like that. Hopefully we'll come across someone, but how about we head off? The ladies who you'll be meeting are also in a way uniangeni's....perhaps they may have a little knowledge on healing in case we don't find anyone en route?" She turned, looking out into the lands to try and remember the direction. Once she spotted familiar mountains in the distance she turned and offered a kind smile to Xocoyol. "It's this way....ready to start this journey?"
Who knew, maybe she'd be able to learn how to heal properly and not only help others, but help herself too!
Uta Shall we do come kind of time skip? :3 Have them meet someone along the way possibly unicorn until they reach Nimue?

Tirokio Time skip away! Any prefs on unicorns you'd like them to meet? I've got a ton. . . o.o We can also wrap this RP and start a new one, too, if you'd like. So it was, the stallion had inadvertantly found himself a companion. He didn't object to the idea, though he did regret that he had no idea how long or how far he would take the mare. He had no idea where his brother could be, much less what he might have gotten up to in these lands. Everything was rather foreign to Xocoyolcoatl, and he knew enough to know finding a single stallion in the Kawni might be easier said than done. Still, his pale companion seemed good of heart and spirit. She wanted to help him, had said as much, and this particular angeni wasn't going to fight her if that was her preference.
Besides, it would be good for him, he knew. It had been some time since he'd traveled with another, and she would be something to focus on, to ground him. She could help draw him back through conversation or a kind word, and he could attempt to scare off anything overly hostile or aggressive. It wasn't that he was some grand fighter, but he was big, and he could hold his own if worse came to worse.
Additionally, the mare might find her own calling along the way, or perhaps, find someone to teach her how to utilize her unicorn skills. Their future was open, the possibilities endless, and it would be the start of a very great journey. "I have no nickname," he finally spoke with a smile, pondering the idea. "You might call me what you wish. . . for my name is a bit . . . long." And a bit of a mouthful. His entire family seemed to come from quite the exotic background, but he was not fussed over pronunciation. If Bindi wished to shorten it, she could readily do so. "Well then, we shall . . be off. And we might see where our hooves . . .take us."
They could wind up anywhere, though he new they were going to find some. . some other mare. Another uniangeni? At least the Kawani had a healthy population. Perhaps it might not take so long to find Cuah as he first imagined. Then again, he knew the spirits liked a good game and mischief. . Who knew what tomorrow would bring?.

Three days later
It had been a wonderous three days, and it was hard to at times contain her excitement about the whole ordeal. Three days of company, three days she found herself laughing, smiling non stop and three glorious days of seeing the world around her not looking for anyone in trouble but instead enjoying a slower pace.
They were heading in the general direction of the estranged mare Nimue, one of whom had been here in the lands for some time. It wasn't exactly her help they needed but that of her daughter Airlia or Minuet - whomever might be keeping their mother company. The three of them were on the lookout for Sapphire, Airlia's daughter who had gone missing some time prior. As a fellow angeni she said she would be on the lookout the last time she spoke to Nimue; it wouldn't be too hard to find thanks to their very unique spiked tails but she'd seen no trace of the mare to date. Between the three of them she was sure someone had seen someone who looked as unique as Xocoyolcoatl.
Upon their many conversations, even if Xocoyo seemed a little lost in his own little world from time to time...Bindi didn't mind. He was too sweet a soul not to mind his little quirks from here and there...she was sure she had her own to match as well.
"So, Xocoyo...what is your family like back in the spirit worlds? Were you and your brother really close?" She knew that he was in a quest to find him, obviously...but she'd never had siblings...at least her father had never found anyone aside from her mother and vice versa so she was fairly positive she had no other living relatives. She'd met so many acquaintances that she bashfully was hesitant to admit she remembered so little out there in the world unless they held some kind of very distinguishing trait or meeting they drifted into the grey area of her mind. So really, her only true friend status soquili in the lands was walking right beside her....and she dearly hoped she wouldn't be able to forget someone like him once he found his brother.
Bindi's wing still ached, and it still was decently swollen in her joints from lack of use and the gentle swaying of her body as they moved across the land. She'd said nothing of it though, it wasn't nearly as painful as it was the day she ran into him - just an ache when she stepped perhaps a little too roughly on the ground.
Yet they hadn't run into any healing type Soquili yet, so she trudged on as she always did. Still optimistic they would but in the same time not holding her breath by any means. "Also...what is it like holding such a wealth of knowledge? I couldn't fathom knowing as much as you seem to know." She asked idly, a passing thought really that she was curious to learn of the warm stallion.
Uta Feel free to add any of your unicorns or otherwise healers. XD Whomever has a good muse or maybe even needs stats? <3
