After the encounter with Mot, Shun was still making his way back to the dorm, though his pace was rather slow compared to how he usually walked. It felt like he had an even greater pain and weight in his heart. He thought that things couldn't have gotten much worse prior to that but they certainly did. The words of the cowboy were echoing through his mind. Gripping the small bag of food he had, he struggled on what he should do regarding Mitsu exactly. She really did deserve better. So much better. And yet... there was how he felt. As well as his promise to her. But, what was the worth of a promise to someone who may never be the same or even recall such a thing? There was also the matter of the others... As he thought to himself, he had a rather distant look in his good eye. He wasn't watching where he was going for the most part.

Lizzy had wanted to make a trip down to the monster dorms - one, because she felt bad that she hadn't gone to visit Mitsu since she came home, two, because she hadn't spent a lot of time with her soulmate, and three, because she wanted to see if she could pick open the door to Jericho's room... Well, assuming that nobody had already tried that. He had a lot of valuables there, after all, even if his hoard hadn't been great ever since he got infected with insanity...
"Shun...?" She muttered to herself, noticing a figure up ahead, walking in the same direction. After making sure that it wasn't anyone else, she jogged up to him, "Shun!"

While he walked, Shun actually didn't hear Lizzy's first call. But, he soon realized that someone was coming up from behind. And sure enough, he heard the demon's voice calling for him. The reaper paused upon hearing it, but he didn't turn to face her.
"..."
Glancing to the ground, he didn't really move from there, nor was he certain of what to say right now. If anything.

Lizzy smiled when he stopped walking; that made it easier for her to catch up, although she realized that he wasn't walking very fast in the first place. She looked up at him, offering him a smile, "Are you going to-" A pause followed as she studied his face and the atmosphere around him, "Did something... Happen?"

Shun lifted his gaze from the ground to meet with Lizzy's eyes. Though she smiled, it didn't really help with what he was thinking all that much. There was no reply right away, but he eventually did speak up once he could get his thoughts together.
"Lizzy..." he started while hesitating for a moment. He then took in a deep breath, then started to walk again before murmuring, "I don't think you should associate with me any longer."

"What?" Lizzy blinked, frowning at the rather sudden declaration from him; she hadn't expected to hear that from him, especially not out of the blue like this. When she realized that he was walking away, she followed, looking up at the boil as she tried to make sense of what was going on, "What do you mean?"

"I mean what it sounded like. Don't associate yourself with me," Shun said quietly while continuing to walk. Mot was right. He wasn't sure if he could do this with Mitsu but.. he could at least start with his friends.
"People like me are better off without friends."

"BUT WHY?" Lizzy placed stress on the 'why', "We went through this! People like you or anyone else are not better off without friends."

"Mitsu was taken because of what I did. Candace said it herself. You all are in danger for associating with me. And it isn't just hunters that I'll have to worry about in the future I'm sure," Shun said coldly, gritting his teeth as he spoke. One fist was clenched in his pocket. It wasn't easy saying this in the very least.

"That's silly," Lizzy seemed to have decided that for herself, even folding her arms across her chest to show how adamant she was about this, "Mitsu was taken because Candace is a... A..." She seemed to struggle with something before finally completing her sentence, "What some people would call a female dog. Associated with you or not, if she didn't have it in her mind to want to kidnap someone and do something horrible to them, she wouldn't have gone through all that trouble."

"I prefer to call her a ******** whore."
Shun stopped using the term 'b***h' after he got close to Mitsu. It might have been partly due to the fact that when he used the term around her before, she gave him a funny look. Shaking his head, he looked towards her, stopping once more.
"It doesn't change the fact that she targeted her specifically to get to me. She could have gone after me instead. But she didn't."
That said, he murmured more quietly to himself, "And now all this has happened.."

"Yeah, that's because she's W. H. Ore," Lizzy huffed before deflating a little, trying to be empathetic; it's true that she wouldn't be quite as level-headed about this if she was the one with a family background like Shun's, and Mac got hurt because she was a meanie jerk face, but it's just hard to see things from Shun's point of view... Although she did not agree with it.
"Look, you have to stop that," She stopped to grab him on his wrist, giving it a light tug, "That negativity. That how 'someone like you' doesn't deserve to have someone to rely on. I know that your father's probably a powerful man, and it's not going to be easy having to do something you were not used to, but... I grew up in a peaceful neighborhood, being sheltered from a lot of things. I never played video games, and I had to read certain books in secret. My mother taught me a lot of things, but not practical skills. I adapted to school pretty well, and now I'm part of this war that doesn't even belong to us."
She sighed, "People are shaped by circumstances, right? If you want to break away from your old lifestyle... If I can help with that, I will."

At first, Shun just sort of stared at Lizzy when she tried to say whore. Shaking his head, he glanced away, about to keep walking but he soon felt her grabbing onto his wrist. He was trying to figure out what she was getting at here, but that sigh explained it more than enough.
"You all talk like that's something that's possible," he said while looking back at her. Mot had brought that up as well.
"I'm already in poor standings with the Family. I can't just walk away from that. And we are in a war right now. Like it or not, things just got real personal for me," he hissed with annoyance lacing his tone. He was tired. Lack of sleep, food, and the emotions running rampant have not been kind on him.

"And why is that not possible?" Lizzy asked, staring at Shun, "War. It's just an excuse for people to hurt each other..." She muttered, looking away briefly.

"Be honest. Can you see me leading a completely peaceful life?" Shun shot. He looked down at the hand gripped around his wrist and weakly tried to pull back.
"See? That's the thing. People don't need an excuse to hurt someone. War or not, people get hurt."
