The brothers has been travelling together for some time, ever since they were sent out of the pride so that they may survive. Thus far they had managed to do so, though they had lost the company of their sister in an ambush and now knew not where she was. Eos hoped she was alright, however his dark brother was a little less optimistic. The white male did not pay much attention to his brother’s attitude though, and preferred to simply believe her alive. He knew that they would one day find her again, though did not know when.

Erebos padded quickly ahead of his brother, impatience in his steps. He turned to look back over his shoulder, frowning at the white form following slower behind him. “We aren’t going to cover much ground at this pace.” He said, annoyance clearly evident in his voice.

“It isn’t as if we have a destination in mind anyways.” Eos replied, his focus turning to his darker brother for a moment before going back to their surroundings. Since leaving the old pride’s lands they had gone through a change in scenery. It was getting much greener, as well as gold. Quite a big change from the vast expanse of sand he was used to. It was nice though.

The reply was met with a scoff. It was true though, there was no destination they were aiming for. The brothers were simply wandering around aimlessly. Erebos didn’t quite like it. He was so used to being in one place, with some sort of purpose. But now they had nothing but each other, and he wasn’t even sure what they were supposed to do no. His brother was far too laid back for him, and though there was nowhere solid in mind they were trying to get to Erebos still felt as if they were moving at too slow a pace.

“Fine, we’ll just lay under some tree all day, wasting time and getting nowhere. Clearly that is what you would rather be doing.”

With that statement Eos sat down and grinned. “That’s more like it.” Of course he knew his brother was not being serious, but he was enjoying this place. It was such a nice change from the desert that he didn’t want to rush past it all and miss anything exciting. “There is plenty of time to walk around, for now why don’t we just take a break? Relax and enjoy this place.” Eos said, the end of the sentence stretching into a yawn as he lay himself down and stretch out across the grass.

Erebos came to a halt, frowning further at his brother. "Relax? How can I? We don't know how our pride fares and have been separated from our sister. Now we are walk these unknown lands not knowing where to go!" He sat down with a huff, a low growl of annoyance forming in his chest.

Eos turned to look at his brother, sighing deeply. "I know all of this, but worrying about it isn't going to do any good. We'll find Ares again, and word of the pride will surely get to us soon. For now we might as well make the most of our time out here." The white male rolled over on to his back, hind legs stretching out behind him. "Besides, we have been walked enough. My paws could use the rest.

Erebos lay down heavily on the ground, glaring at the grass in front of his face. “Fine. We can rest for a day or two, but after that we should start moving again. Who knows if we have been followed, or if we are even being watched right now.” He said, glancing around quickly after as he did. Someone could have followed them after the ambush, or maybe even some other foe lurking in the shadows. Finally he lay his head back down, only slightly convinced that they were not in immediate danger.

“You worry far too much. We’ll be fine, I doubt anyone followed us this far.” Eos shifted himself, getting more comfortable on the grass. The sun warmed his body and the heat, as well as lying still, was making him tired. A nap sounded quite good at this time as well, and the white male could not help it as he started to drift off. In his half sleep mind his thoughts wandered back to the pride, the ambush, and their missing sister. Everything would work out in the end, surely it would. There was no use dwelling on the bad, as it would do no good anyways. A smile spread across his maw as he rolled on to his other side and stretched out, drifting slowly to sleep in the soft grasses.

Erebos’s mind also wandered towards all they had left behind. They didn’t know what had happened to their home or their family. For all they knew the pride was no longer, taken over by their attackers. If that happened was the rest of the family that stayed behind still alive? Was Ares even? They didn’t know where she was and these lands were strange to them, unknown. Who knew what harm could befall her. Sure she was as tough as any warrior, but who knew what dangers lurked out here. The dark male rolled on to his stomach and looked back towards his brother. “Maybe we should head out after it’s dark, we really shouldn’t linger here too long.” The white male kept silent, side rising and falling. Erebos watched him for a few moments longer, brow furrowing in annoyance. “Asleep. Of course.” Erebos pushed himself up into a sitting position, staring out towards the horizons. He didn’t like it out here in the open. Why couldn't his brother have fallen asleep with more foliage, somewhere more secluded. Instead the white male had fallen asleep out in the open, not even the grass was tall enough to hide their presence. Erebos lay back down, lying his head atop his paws. Sleep did not come easy to the dark male, but eventually even he drifted off to sleep.
