Staying out so late was arguably both a very good and very bad idea. On the plus side, Mjolnir had been spared wandering lost in the night. On the negative, Jett was ******** exhausted. When he awoke the next morning, one arm hooked around Raven, he was no longer blessed with adrenaline or energy or thoughts to keep him awake.

He cringed when the sun caught his eye and let out an annoyed groan as he rubbed his face and drew his girlfriend closer.

Now, his body ached. He could feel the tenderness of his skin where he had been bruised, and the ache of his arms from where he’d thrown so many punches. His stomach growled, reminding him of another nuisance that came with mornings, but all be damned if he had it in him to get up and make breakfast right now.

He wasn’t one to suffer alone, however, and if he was awake, it meant that Raven ought to be awake, too.

He rolled his head just slightly to look at the girl while she slept, wriggled closer, and nipped playfully at her earlobe before planting kisses down her neck.

Raven had been smart at that big old battle. She hadn’t wanted to get her hands dirty, and therefore, really didn’t walk away with more than a few flecks of blood on her fuku…though none of the flecks were hers. She had slept pretty well though the night and gave Jett a little swat as he kissed her—Oh.

Oh yeah, she had stayed at Jett’s house last night. Well, that was a first. And it wasn’t to terrible either. Yeah, she could get used to this. Spending the night with her boyfriend—like the two were really a couple.

“Morning, a*****e.” She grumbled, rolling over and giving him a look. Her hair was everywhere, all messed up from sleep, and she most likely looked like some sort of monster…but, he could deal with that. He would have to. She couldn’t always look fantastic and amazing, after all.

“Did you sleep okay? Are you feeling any better? I know you were a mess last night.” And she had been worried. How nice, a worried girlfriend. She should get some sort of prize for this—flowers at the very least.

“Not with your sorry a** kicking me all night, I hardly slept a wink,” the male grumbled, rolling his shoulders and stretching a bit.

The truth was, he’d slept pretty damn well after the storm had started—after he’d gotten back home, he’d curled up next to her and been out like a light. He could only hope Ophelia had been as fortunate.

--Oh. Right, Ophelia.

“…Actually,” Jett took on a slightly more serious tone. “I didn’t sleep very well at all. Had to get up and take a walk, try and clear my head a little bit. Ended up running into a girl while I was out,” he said, forcing himself to sit up.

Whereas Remarque’s attire left most of his body covered, the white wife beater he was wearing left far less to the imagination—and contrasted greatly with the dark bruises that speckled a portion of his visible skin. “Dark Mirror girl. New. Pretty shaken.”

Raven had sat up when Jett did, running a hand through her hair. Smirking as he complained about her tossing around in the night. Well, that wasn’t her fault. She had always been a terrible sleeper, half the nights she woke up with her sheets crumpled in a ball on the floor.

Not her fault at all.

She raised a brow when Jett mentioned going out and leaving her alone. “Oh, so that’s why I ended up getting so cold last night. You did leave me.” The blonde laughed, though the sound was cut off a moment later. He had run into a girl? Well…that news coupled with that tone of voice…that didn’t bode well to her, and she found herself growing a little guarded.

“A girl, huh…and what did you do with this…” Dark mirror girl? New? Well…that didn’t matter much. “What did you end up doing with this new girl, hm? And why do you sound so serious. Is there something you need to tell me?”
If there was, she wasn’t sure she really wanted to hear it.

Jett shrugged. “It’s not anything you have to worry about. Nothing bad, I mean. Well. For her, yeah.”

He reached for a hair tie on his nightstand and tied up his hair. Even with bed head he managed to look decent. Leaning back against the headboard, he glanced to his girlfriend. “She got converted last night. Came over to our side during the battle. Lost everything, didn’t have anywhere to go. Guess I felt bad for her, so, unless she’s decided to rob me blind while we slept, I think she’s still crashing in the guest room.”

He didn’t seem too upset by the whole idea, though he figured now was a better time to tell Raven there was another girl in the house this morning. It would have been awkward if he’d been out cooking breakfast and some strange girl had just wandered in.

The blonde’s arms folded over her chest and she pursed her lips, not looking very happy in the slightest. “So…you had two girls spending the night here, hm?” Her voice was cold, and she glanced towards the bedroom door. “That’s all good, you know. New recruits and all. But.”

Raven got up out of the bed and shook her head. “Is she going to be staying here? I swear, if this turns into anything, Jett.” She walked over to the door and put a hand on it, shaking her head in disgust. “I’m going to talk to this girl. You stay here until I get back, got it?”

Raven looked back at her boyfriend and gave a look that could freeze anything. “I mean it, Jett. Don’t you dare move a muscle.”

She wasn’t happy. Not one bit. But, what could she do. The girl was already in the house, Now all she could really do was lay out some ground rules. Or, introduce herself, if you would. No harm in introductions. Not really any harm, at least.

Jett was not one to be bossed around. He did not like taking orders—especially in his own home.

…Bur Raven had a very unique way of making him think twice about pressing his luck. One brow remained arched as she proceeded to demand he stay put, though that didn’t stop an amused grin from twitching onto his face.

“How about we compromise, that fair? You do whatever you have to do, just don’t scare her away.” He nodded towards the bathroom door in his room. “I’ll jump in the shower and give you some time to talk with her. Just…take it easy on her. I figure she had a rough enough time last night. She seemed scared. She could probably do with a strong, beautiful female role model like you in her life.”

Sure, maybe he was laying it on thick for chit-chat this early in the morning, but the last thing he wanted Raven to think was that something was going on between him and this girl he picked off the streets last night.

The grin only served to build her rage even more, and the blonde left the room, slamming the door behind her. Damn him. Damn him and all of his ******** cockyness. If this was just some joke to him, if this was all some game.

Well, then he might be lucky that the girl lived past the next few minutes, ally or not. Raven was not in a very tolerant mood. Not one little bit.
