 Tastes Like Summer was carefully picking her way around the trees and over their roots, so very careful even though this wasn't her first clutch. This was her second and it felt, well, not wrong, because she loved Desert and he had been so very kind, but not quite right either. Waltz had given them his blessing and her guilt, her guilt that she couldn't commit to the other kiokote, couldn't say that she would stay with him forever, was lifted momentarily. Now it was sinking back in, which was silly, she wouldn't raise her foals as guilty parent, no she knew as every mother knows that she loved her children, even though they were yet to be born. With that thought, Starburst cast off her guilt and consoled herself with the thought that maybe after this clutch, she would be ready for forever.

 There had been a seeming influx of kin seeking blessings. A bare few had been given a task and as none of them had returned, she thought perhaps she needed to find slightly easier tests for expectant parents or those who thought ahead. That or she would have to resort to dropping hints or using her offspring to spread the word of things she liked. Although that was rather cheating, as she liked to think herself hard to find and harder still to figure out. Oh well, she would think of some happy medium. As it was, she found herself slinking through the mangroves -- over roots and through the water -- half in thought, half in the desire to be difficult. She had a feeling (lately it seemed to never go away) that once more she was wanted. She would be found, surely, but that didn't mean she had to be in plain sight. And with that she faded into the shadows, knowing someone was coming. Very soon.

As Starburst was walking along, she got this strange sense of something, like a chill or maybe a warm breeze running down her spine and she stopped. She wasn't sure, but it seemed if there might be a legendary nearby and that made her realize that she should be seeking a blessing for her clutch. She had gotten one for her last one and the entire clutch had been wonderful, so beautiful and sweet with all the loyalty of Mugwort. Berating herself for her thoughtlessness, Starburst took to looking around trying to see if a mare or stag or a strange creature with glowing kimeti eyes lurked, but alas, she saw nothing. Letting out a soft sigh, Starburst trot over to a nice shadow and settled gently down to rest her hooves, ears high, listening for the approach of a legendary, or Waltz for he too must be nearby. anemosagkelos Tag! And sorry about the sudden change in post style, I automatically go to whisper and I forgot that I don't for Starburst xD

The mare smiled to herself, she had twined with the shadows in the nick of time. Although she was hardly invisible truly but as of yet she had to meet someone with a keen enough eye to pick her out. Still, as far as the Kiokote was aware she wasn't there at all. And it was quite entertaining the the doe made herself comfortable quite nearly at her feet. In fact, she may have giggled a touch.
Placing her humor aside, the mare decided she really should make herself known. She would not dine to wait around if the expectant mother fell asleep. And with that she became visible -- well mostly. It seemed she hadn't quite made up her mind and now both faded mare and owlcat stood. "Looking for something?" she queried.

When the faded mare and owlcat suddenly appeared before her, glowing, yet shadowed like nothing Starburst had ever seen before, the soon-to-be-mother scrambled up to her hooves. She gave a low bow to the mare-owlcat, too in awe to do anything more graceful, she wouldn't even consider risking a curtsy lest she fall over. She spoke with a great deal of respect in her voice and, never one to be able to hide her feelings, surprise in her voice, "Swamp-chosen, I-" Starburst had to pause to gather her thoughts and in that time a sweet, cheerful smile appeared on her face, "I- I am with foal and if it be your will, I would be most honored by a blessing on this clutch. I wish for the best for my foals, and for all that I love and cherish them already, I-, a blessing would put some of my worrying to rest." Stopping with a blush, Starburst shuffled awkwardly, waiting for the legendary's verdict.

Lull in Sunlight had made the briefest movement, intending to move forward, when the doe bolted upright. My, wasn't she fast. A smile had made it's way to her mouth at Starburst's bow -- at least she had that in her favor. And then she was left feeling a bit wide-eyed at the flood of words that rushed from the expectant mother's mouth. Oh, mothefather, why.
Although her mare form did not betray anything, the owlcat's tail quivered as the tip fluffed in annoyance. Still at least she had gotten to the point of the matter. In which there wasn't much to be thought over.
"Your clutch will survive and be much more precise in their spoken words," the latter bit was infused with a gentle teasing.

Starburst let out a sigh, and smiled brightly. She wasn't the most eloquent (she left the precise words and even speech to Waltz), but she always meant well. Gratefully, Starburst did her very best and kept her reply simple, "Thank you, thank you very much." anemosagkelos And thank YOU for the blessing, ane! ♥

Amorpheous You're very welcome, Morphy. The mare inclined her head in a slow nod then faded off, leaving an owlcat to pounce its way across the roots.
