☯Appearance: Zerus is a fairly tall, muscular individual. He looks exactly like you would expect a man of fire nation descent to look, slightly tanned, yellow eyes, short, messy black hair. His face and hands look very smooth, the skin is basically flawless. Aside from that, his body is covered is scars, bruises, and burns from his younger days.
☯Wardrobe: Zerus has a very modern wardrobe. He wears long-sleeve work shirts, loose-fitting pants, and modern athletic shoes. He likes to wear high collars, as well, or something to cover up his bruised neck.
Zerus does still own traditional fire nation clothing from his days in training. He has a vest with very ornate designs and loose-fitting pants, both red in color. He rarely wears this because he doesn't want to mess the outfit up, but he still keeps it around.
☯Markings/Scars/Tattoo's/etc: He has a large burn on his right side, just below his ribs, that wraps around from his abdomen to the middle of his back and a scar diagonally across his chest, as well as one down his right shoulder going half way down his bicep, there is also a large, lasting bruise on the back of his neck, just to name the most notable. He used to have the tattoo of a phoenix, black in color, all across his back, but it is now barely recognizable thanks to the burns and bruises on his back.

☯Personality: Zerus is a known and diagnosed Sociopath; remorseless, doesn't respond well to fear or pain, a careless liar. He is a very angry individual, but does well to hide it. Zerus is a very charming individual, an extension of his ability to lie. He doesn't like to bring up his past, and when confronted by it, has a tendency to lose his cool. Zerus is a fighter, no one would ever say he's slow to act, sometimes, he doesn't even think things through. Zerus does not think about how his actions effect others and simply does not care if he hurts other people. He is not very patient, the main reason he's not an even better fire bender. He is cold and calculating, he likes to pick his mark, but does not like to wait for what he wants.

☯Character Bio: Zerus doesn't remember most of his early childhood. His father was a soldier for the United Forces who was killed. His mother, unable to support Zerus and his brother, gave them up to a local orphanage. Zerus and his brother always hated this lifestyle, being so dependent on others. Zerus's bad attitude often prevented him from being adopted, and his brother refused to leave without Zerus.
The true fateful day was on a field trip. As the group was traveling through town, Zerus observed an act of violence, a brutal mugging by a gang. While most would see this as a horrible act, Zerus saw this as the life he wanted, he saw this as an art, a ritual he wanted to be a part of. After a few weeks of reveling in the thought of being a part of what he had just witnessed. His brother shared in the dream, or at least the dream of having freedom, living on their own.
The two sneaked out one night and left to live on the streets. Zerus and his brother joined in on a street gang and continued committing crimes to live for a few years. They got in trouble with the law many times, but as minors, they were never kept in jail, at least, not more than a few weeks at a time.
After a while, the police realized the two children needed better structure. That was when a kind old man stepped in to change everything. He offered to take the children in and offer them just what they needed. He gave them a home and helped them by giving them a firebending teacher. The man believed the structure of the martial art would teach them discipline. This worked... for Zerus's brother. Zerus never seemed to respond to this. He was a skilled firebender and a good fighter, but he lacked discipline and patience. He treated firebending as nothing but a method to fight, to cause damage. He loved it, he loved the feeling of control that it gave him. Zerus never really learned or respected the spiritual art of firebending. As such, he wasn't as controlled as others. He learned the moves, but not the control or strategy to it.
It wasn't too much longer after he started learning lightning bending that Zerus was kicked out of training for abusing the art. Soon after, he was arrested, and, as an adult, taken to jail. Zerus and his brother, who had turned into a contributing and functional member of society, were split up that day. After his parole, Zerus found a job at an electric plant and started doing other odd jobs, he now lives as a ostensibly normal citizen of the United Republic.

☯Other Information: To go along with his Antisocial Personality Disorder, Zerus appears to have something of a Messiah complex. He believes he hates the things he does because they are bad for society. He has a particularly burning hatred of the Spiritualists, and feels that their existence is detrimental to humanity as a whole.
