The sun was warm and trees surrounded the stallion as he stretched and rose.
He had slept well, breakfasted, and sunned, and now water was in order, the male moving to the idlely trickling river to take a drink. Large hooves trod slowly-- the others were away - and he stretched and moved, stooping his head to drink from the water cooly, enjoying the breeze ruffling the short thatch of his mane and pelt, and he closed his eye contentedly, snorting. It felt, and smelled, clean; a glorious day for the stallion, and ge wondered if some delicious bits of grain were reaching fruition in the grass, moving, and stooping to graze.

Lyric swam downstream, enjoying watching all the other little water critters scurry away as she got near them. She happened to look up and noticed a familiar face not far off. He was peacefully getting a drink of water, and Lyric thought she would have a bit of fun while saying hello to her favorite new friend.
When she got near him, she popped her head out of the water, and exclaimed in a sing song voice, "Hello! How are you today, Heath?"

Heath jumped in surprise, but beamed seeing Lyric, nodding his head to say Hello. She'd startled him, but it was nothing major.

Lyric stepped up on the shore to join him. She had just got a new necklace made of sea shells, and some beach nath that she wanted to show off. She beamed and said excitedly, "Look at my new shinies. Do you like them?" She asked with a silly grin.

Heath perked, nodding excitedly. Oh, they were lovely, and the male, very faintly, whickered in approval, smiling, and tilted his head, as if asking where they'd been found.

"There's a stand on the beach, not too far from here. There are some people selling items," she explained. "There are lots of other festivities going on as well. Do you want to check it out with me?" She smiled expectantly. This would be a fun date.

Lyric got one long drink of water before turning towards the beach with a smile of excitement on her face. "Okay, let's go! I think this will be fun. I only got to look at some of the things last time I was there, so maybe I can look at more this time." She turned to smile at Heath before going on, "There were other Kelpies there too...so I wasn't the only one, and I wasn't as shy." Lyric usually got shy in large groups of all land soquili, because she was afraid that they might judge her for her Kelpie appearance. Not all Kelpies were friendly, but Lyric sure was. She was only part Kelpie after all.

Heath perked, trotting after, head tilting. Other Kelpies? Oooohhh! He looked a bit excited, beaming.

Lyric was glad that Heath looked as excited as she felt. She hoped this day would prove to be fun, and she was glad that she got to spend it with Heath. She couldn't think of any other soquili she would rather hang out with. She blushed and smiled at Heath and continued to trot along.
Soon, they were approaching the beach, and Hawaiian music could be heard, probably being played by some of the locals. Normally Lyric was hesitant around humans, but these seemed alright, especially since there were so many other soquili around. It was a party for horses and two-leggers alike!
The beach came into view and Lyric nodded towards the trinket stand. "Over there, that's where I got these," she told Heath. "I wonder what else there is to do here."

Heath's ears pricked at the sounds and he moved, sniffing curiously at everything immediately. Oh, so much to see and smell! The stallion looked impressed, and then to Lyric with a horsey grin, before nicking an apple, offering it. After food, a swim! He'd try it, after all!

Everything had such a fun feel to it, Lyric felt so at home by the beach, and so happy with the stalion that was accompanying her. She smiled and bit off half the apple he offered, leaving the other half for him. "Thank you," she said and she gave his cheek a little nuzzle.
Heath seemed to be looking towards the water. "Want to play in the ocean?" she asked him.

Heath nodded, eating his half quickly before breaking into a gallop for the water, grinning stupidly a bit as he rushed in, and seemed to laugh, kicking up water and splashing.

Lyric laughed joyfully at the sight of him, and then galloped in after him. She was much more graceful once she got into the water than he was, but she had her tail to propel her around. She didn't splash up as much water initially, but just for fun, she swished her tail purposefully in Heath's direction, sending a wave of water right over his head. She grinned playfully at him and stood a few feet away, waving her tail tauntingly.

Heath smiled, mutely laughing as he took the cue, running toward her before stopping, spinning to stand, sending a wave to her, and he made another laughing motion... Almost making a sound.
