Taking the henshin pen out of its hiding place to go to first the Jovian meeting and then to Polaris's meeting had spiraled. Super Sailor Pasiphae could not deny this truth. When it had gone untouched for so long, it had been easy to not see any forces of Chaos. It had been easy not to jump into action. An object at rest, afterall, tended to remain at rest. Now?
Now the dutiful girl felt like she had to be ever alert, ever vigilant. She could not put the pen back and just... let the others fight alone. If she had observed anything from the Ambush, it was that the forces of Chaos had seemed to be trying to drive them all apart. She wasn't going to let go of anyone again, to be forced away from anyone again. Whatever little help she could offer, she was going to give. No matter how little or meaningless.
Her patrols had shifted from looking for Chaos to looking for Order, so when she felt a single ally standing alone near a foe, she headed in that direction without a second thought. Her hand shot to her cell phone, as she tried to find another Senshi to contact as she moved towards the area. Backup was generally needed in her battles, backup beyond what she herself could provide. No reason to assume this time would be any different.

Vanadis hadn't really meant to start a fight with the youma; originally she'd just sort of tried to track it on its way across town, but then it'd started heading into the more populated areas of DC and, well, if that wasn't ominous, she didn't know what was. Truthfully there hadn't been much point to her tracking, either. Mostly she'd just been stalling, hoping that another senshi would appear and do something about the youma before she herself had to. But no such luck, and when the youma had meandered into the nightclub district, full of drunken young people who were, Vanadis thought, probably rather easy to attack given their current state of mind, it was time to do something about it. 'Something' being leveling a rather futile kick at the youma to get its attention and then sprinting like hell to get it to a less crowded location. It'd worked, but she wasn't quite sure she was actually happy about that - because seriously, what did she do now? The youma was fast and gaining on her, and the place she'd chosen for their confrontation wasn't anywhere near the other places she'd met senshi. Which meant that she was totally on her own now, she realised with dawning horror as the monster roared and spat goop at her. Oh crap. She narrowly dodged, but a bit managed to get on her arm and it began stinging horribly. How on earth was she going to win this? Quicksilver the Archangel

Pasiphae could hear that she was going in the right direction when a crowd of drunkards began to hoot and to whistle, clamoring over the arrival of a monster and hey wasn't that cool? Some were running in fear, but others were running for beer and trying to snap pics with their cellphones. She only hoped they wouldn't call the police. She forced that thought back from her mind now as the youma came into view. Pasiphae leapt in with a kick that forced the monster to recoil in pain. For now, at least. Some of the same goop dripped from its jaws. Most of it landed on her long stockings, but a few flecks hit the upper part of her leg and made her hiss as she landed beside the Senshi. It stung. Well... at least it wasn't acid, like some youma spit, but she made a note of it as she looked over to the girl beside her. It was no one that she knew--but she was clearly a Senshi, all the same, and that was enough. The Shame Senshi kept a wary eye on the youma, and when it seemed to be rising slowly, she turned her attention to her ally, speaking earnestly, "I came... as quickly as I could, I'm sorry. Are you alright?"

Vanadis gaped. "No, no, don't be s-sorry!" There was absolutely nothing to be sorry about - in her mind, the other senshi had swooped in and saved the day. Even though the day wasn't technically saved yet and the youma was now spitting its goop in their direction. Vanadis dodged, this time completely, before throwing a glance at her fellow senshi. "I'm f-fine, um, just, yeah." She paused. "I, I... I don't know all that much about youma-vanquishing, sorry. What do we do now?" She threw a worried look at the youma who seemed to be working up to another attack. Should she go the physical route like the other senshi had? Only Vanadis wasn't the best fighter, and maybe the senshi in red had some kind of plan. A plan would be good. Would be excellent, Vanadis thought as she tried to dodge another bout of goop but ended up with her left arm nearly entirely covered in it. Despite the fact that the goop didn't seem to be acid, this much of it still hurt enough to bring tears to her eyes. "Oh crap." Quicksilver the Archangel

Pasiphae blinked stupidly whenever she was asked for directions. Where was Kallichore? Or Europa? Or Polaris, or Chaonis? Or... or Ganymede or Valhalla or Nyx or... well, any other Senshi or Knights?! Pasiphae was not the one who should be taking the lead or showing anyone the ropes! Half the time she felt like she was still learning them herself! But, as she dodged the latest goopy onslaught, she knew what she had to do. She was a Super Senshi now. She had been in battles before, and youma were the easiest to fight. Not like actual, human opponents. She sucked in a breath to try and settle her nerves. There was no one else. Even if her message reached another ally, she couldn't just wait for them to show up when the monster was after someone even more inexperienced than herself. The tears on the other girl's face was the last straw that broke through her doubts. "It seems to be vulnerable to physical attacks... so for now, we do what Chaonis said to do. We punch it! Punch it until... until it's nothing but dust!" The Shame Senshi leapt to do just that, her curled fist striking the creature firmly in the face. More of the burning goop fell on her hand, and now with this second soaking she could feel it begin to hurt even through the cloth. But she couldn't stand down. Not now.

"R-right!" Vanadis blinked through her tears, nodding to the other senshi. It was a plan, and a plan was better than nothing in the red-head's opinion - even if she wasn't sure she could punch something to dust, if the other senshi said she had to, she would damn well try. Keeping her good side away from the youma as much as possible, Vanadis crept up on it and, utilizing what little she'd learned from her self-defence classes, gave it the best kick she could. The kick connected with its lower back, and the youma roared (with complimentary spittles of goop flying everywhere) before turning to grab her. It got a hold of her good arm, and Vanadis hissed. "D-damnit!" Quicksilver the Archangel

Pasiphae called forth her shield, not knowing what would happen when it came in contact with the youma but unable to watch her ally get hurt, "Pasiphae Social Pariah*!" The maroon shield settled aroud the red-headed Senshi, forcing the hand grasping her to come into direct contact with the shield. The youma did not like that at all and began to beat against the barrier. That gave Pasiphae the opportunity she needed to give it another strike, and this time the first signs of black dust began to leak free. It was weakening. A couple of more hits and it would be gone. * Upon speaking the name of the attack, the beads of Sailor Pasiphae's mask break off and multiply, creating an energy shield that protects from attack. A more powerful version of Shameful Isolation, Social Pariah allows the energy shield to exist for a longer period of time, anywhere from 30 seconds to 45 seconds depending on the amount and intensity of attacks absorbed. The energy shield can now activate around one ally; if Sailor Pasiphae chooses to do this, she cannot shield herself. Whoever Sailor Pasiphae shields will find their mobility restricted and unable to attack as long as the shield lasts. In addition to shielding Sailor Pasiphae or one companion, whenever the weapon/her attacker comes into physical contact with her shield, it induces a deep sensation of shame which can actively affect the enemy for as long as the shield lasts. NOTE: How each opponent experiences this shame differs based on their personality. For example, a proud warrior might feel shame at attacking a purely defensive opponent, whereas a chivalrous guy might feel shame for attacking a girl. --Drawbacks - Only works on 1 person Only works for a limited amount of time Reduces mobility, making it impossible to attack as long as the shield lasts Can be broken by a powerful enough attack/multiple lesser attacks

The youma was starting to look battered, but there wasn't much Vanadis could do right at the moment to help in vanquishing it. She'd figured, from what the other senshi had called out as she'd made the shield, that it was a senshi ability - or was it senshi magic? She could never tell -, much like she had her own ward. Whatever it was, it was pretty awesome, Vanadis admitted as she watched the youma try to break down the shield in its rage. And the colour was so pretty, but it probably wasn't the time for gushing over that - even though it was really, really pretty. Well. Maybe she'd get a chance to compliment the other senshi on it later. Right, now back to focusing on the life-or-death situation in front of her! The red-headed senshi had used the duration of the shield to take a quick breather, and as soon as the shield went down, she was ready. Fist curled, she went in for the best punch she knew with a high-pitched 'hya!'. It connected to the youma's head and as it roared more black dust started leaking from it. Almost there! She threw a quick grin of premature victory at the other senshi, thrilled that they were doing so well. Quicksilver the Archangel I wasn't sure if it was OK to say the shield went down or if you should be the one to do that - if it's not OK, I'll retcon it right away <33

The red-headed girl's efforts only helped bolster Pasiphae's own, and she ignored the stinging on her arm as she prepared for another strike. She followed up on the other Senshi's hit, and the force of their combined attacks paid off as the youma exploded into the fine, black dust that she knew only too well. The Super Senshi stood in place, panting with exertion. She had never been the best fighter, but now... now she realized that she was just out of shape as well. It would have been embarassing enough to realize had she been alone; when in the presence of another Senshi, it was downright humiliating. Her already flushed face darkened in color as she moved towards the other girl, and she tried not to sound like a fool as she combined a congratulation and a suggestion, "That went... went very well! But, um, we should probably keep moving. If you like... I can walk you home?" She was worried about any potential Chaos agents, of course, but also because of the people of Destiny City she had passed on the way to aid her companion. Chewing thoughtfully on her bottom lip, she stopped long enough to blurt out, "Oh, and um... I didn't have a chance to introduce myself, I'm sorry! I'm Super Sailor Pasiphae, Senshi of Shame, but please, just call me Pasiphae." Ephebe Nope, tis totally fine! Given how how much ANGRY BEATING the youma is doing, I'd say it was due to fall.

Vanadis let out a happy 'whoop!' as the youma was dusted, doing a little dance and totally forgetting about her injuries. Nothing severe, thankfully, but enough that jumping around in mock-dance was definitely a Bad Idea. Okay, so that was obviously one thing she wasn't going to do again right after getting gooped up. "T-that was awesome!" The other senshi was so pro! So pro! It would've been pretty hard for anyone to miss the full on idol admiration playing on Vanadis' face as she turned to regard the other girl. "Oh, um, sure! That'd be cool!" It was probably also a good idea. Her injuries might not be critical, but they and the exhaustion after the battle was enough that she didn't think it wise to take on another agent of Chaos. But then again, when was it ever wise for Vanadis to take on an agent of Chaos? "Y-you're a Super Sailor?" Okay, the adoration just went up a tack. Could Pasiphae get any more fantastic? "I'm Sailor Vanadis, Senshi of Wards! Um, just Senshi, nothing Super or anything." But the other girl could probably have guessed that, from the red-head's lack of fighting experience. "A-and you can call me Vanadis." Her smile turned shy. She wasn't nearly as awesome as Pasiphae and she'd been of much less use in the battle, but still the black-haired senshi was so nice to her! The black-haired Senshi couldn't help but smile softly at her companion's enthusiasm. It was more than she had ever had--her insecurities that still came with her everywhere had been with her from the beginning. She had never thought the fights were awesome, but... well, she had been a lot more naive when she had first started. And still was, but at least she was somewhat aware of it, which had to count for something, right? Vanadis. She committed the name to memory, but she also retrieved her fallen cellphone and used it to scan the new Senshi into her contact list. "It's nice to meet you, even, you know, like this." "There's nothing wrong with just being Sailor, Vanadis! I didn't... I mean, I just sort of powered up one day. I started as a Sailor too." Pasiphae hastened to assure her companion, beginning to walk but at a pace slow enough that Vanadis could take the lead. The attention, which others might have found flattering, she found embarassing. She didn't deserve such admiration! She was nothing special, no more or less than any other Senshi! In an effort to hide some of her nervousness, she clasped her hands together in front of her as she moved. "I'm just glad that you weren't hurt. I mean... you aren't hurt, are you?" The Shame Senshi kicked herself mentally as she tried to keep the conversation from being awkward. She had to try to be the teacher now... and even if she wasn't ready for it, even if she knew there were better teachers out there, she was still going to do the best she could! What would Europa do in a situation like this? Right! The Super Senshi tore off her large, decorative bow as she had learned to do and offered it to the red-head somewhat sheepishly, "Um... you can use this. For bandages, I mean, if you have any scrapes or anything... I don't know if it'll help with the burns at all..."

"Yeah, the circumstances are a bit bad, but it's still nice to meet other senshi." Vanadis smiled at Pasiphae, taking the cue to bring out her own cellphone and add the black-haired senshi to her list of contacts. Which was woefully short, but she was working on it! "Y-you did? I guess that makes sense. So you just sort of powered up." The red-head looked thoughtful before throwing another look of admiration at her companion. "But still, you must have earned it to get to Super. That's what I think, anyway!" Taking the lead in their walk and steering them towards her neighbourhood, Vanadis contemplated. Was she hurt? "I think I'll be fine. The stinging is already going away and everything, so I figure it's probably going to be OK." Watching wide-eyed as Pasiphae tore off her bow and held it out, Vanadis nodded awkwardly and took it. It'd be a shame to just let the sacrifice of such a pretty bow go to waste, so she wrapped it around her arm as best she could. If nothing else, the cool material against her arm eased the stinging a little. She gave a happy little sigh before turning a grateful smile on the other senshi, "Thank you! That actually helped a lot." As they walked, she considered what to ask next. This was, after all, a prime opportunity to learn from a senior senshi and Vanadis was not going to turn it down! But before that, there was something important that she needed to say... "You can c-call me. If you ever, um, need help with anything." She nodded awkwardly, looking serious. "I know I'm not the best senshi out there, but I'm working on it and I'll definitely get better, so if you're ever in trouble, you can just give me a ring! Or a text I guess, either would work. Just... I'd help you. If you need it. For whatever. Er, probably not mugging people, but you don't really seem like the mugging type of person anyway and I should probably stop talking now." "Well, I mean..." Pasiphae rubbed her arm self-conciously after handing off the ribbon, her expression going more distant. There had been some extenuating circumstances involved, but she did not want to bore Vanadis with such details. Or intimidate her. She wasn't sure how much the other Senshi knew about the Surrounding--if at all--or the more recent ambush or... well, anything for that matter. "Y-you're probably right. I needed extra help, from my moon... and it gave it to me. So... so it must've had a reason." No need to mention the nightmares it had given her as well--that would be both uncouth and unproductive. She quieted as she followed the other girl, watching her wrap the material around her burn. A relieved smile crossed her face as she hear that it did, indeed, help some with the injury. At the offer her smile broadened, "Oh, the phone... the phone does accept both calls and texts, so you can use either. So... so feel free to contact me at any time, too. It's important that we stick together. But, well, not mugging. We're not really terrorists, afterall." Then, more quietly, she added, "No matter what anyone says."

"I'm sure it must've. And y'know, you're d-definitely doing a good job, because I'd have been totally toast without you um, coming to rescue me from that youma." Her smile was encouraging and shy all in one, even though she hadn't caught Pasiphae becoming immersed in her thoughts for a moment. "T-thank you for that, by the way." Vanadis nodded as she listened to the other senshi talk about sticking together. That was the spirit, yeah! And maybe, if she found more senshi she could call on for help, she wouldn't get her butt handed to her by every Negaverser she crossed. So that was definitely something to write down on the 'List Of What To Do To Become A Better Senshi'! "Maybe it's better to be known as terrorists, anyway." She awkwardly glanced sideways at Pasiphae. "I mean, i-if people knew we were heroes they'd be butting in all the time, right? Like autographs and stuff, or maybe even p-putting themselves in danger to try and help us out because we're the good guys." She thought for a second. "Now they just sorta run and get out of there as fast as possible. "Well, the people I've met, that is." She amended. People always reacted weirdly to traumatic events, so she figured it was pretty possible that not everyone reacted like that. But for those that did, it definitely made her job as a senshi easier. Pasiphae actively blushed, and she ducked her head at the other Senshi's thanks, and she murmured, "Oh, you don't--I'm happy to help, really! I'm just glad you weren't hurt." Pasiphae listened seriously to what Vanadis had to say in regards to the terrorist label, and her attention was sharper than it might normally appear because it was something that meant a great deal to her. As she listened, she couldn't argue with some of the logic; it was, certainly, better for civilians to get out of an area instead of stick around. However... the cost was too high. If people kept thinking of them as terrorists, then they would not accept their help or their protection when they needed it. No, she refused to change her opinion on the issue, but that didn't mean that she disrespected her companion's views. They didn't have to agree on everything to be friends and allies. Still, she considered her words carefully as she spoke, neither wanting to come across as condscending nor wanting Vanadis to think her opinions had no weight, "I had never thought of it that way, but I just wish they would accept our help rather than fear us. I just... want to protect them." Now she twisted the bracelet around her wrist, eager to move the topic of conversation to anyone, anything, other than herself, "I'm sorry; I'm not the best Senshi either. I'll do anything I can to help, you, though, so... feel free to ask me anything! I've had lots, and lots of help."
