Name:
Hans
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Craft/Rank: Wherhandler
History: Han's was pretty much born to be a Wherhandler..his father was a Wherhandler as was his grandfather - and having grown up near Whers and in the presence of Handlers well, it just seemed natural that he would learn the craft himself. As soon as he was old enough he began training and once that training had reached an approved point began trying for an egg.

It took three tries before a queen accepted him and he was able to get his hands on an egg - that egg hatched into the blue Hansk, a good loyal beast who stood with him through thick and thin as they worked as watchwhers around Trine Weyr. They were quite happy in their jobs, despite the ridicule they received from some of the more haughty dragonriders and when the revolution rose up he saw no reason to turn against his fellow wherhandlers - even if he didn't have a personal beef with the riders.

Of course he has a personal beef now...blue Hansk was slain during the fighting at Trine by a vicious green dragon after bravely trying to defend himself from three other's. Weeping Hans was taken from the field of battle by Zorn a good friend of his and managed to find transport to Malvren where although heartbroken by the loss of Hansk he'd decided to put in a hand for one of the eggs. Whats a Handler without a wher after all ?

Description: Hans is fairly small in stature, being both short and thin - traits that are not often stereotyped as a traditional wherhandler. He's got curly reddish brown hair and a face that seems to be perpetually cheerful..being round and soft of feature. While he's not typically defined as 'attractive' he could be seen as such by those who find baby faces attractive.

Because of his soft features Hans looks younger then he is a trait he considers good - means he'll 'age well'.

Personality:

If Hans is small of stature he is certainly not small of mind - quick to think his way through problems and swift in enacting said fixes (Sometimes a bit too quick - say before getting proper authority to do so) Hans is a fairly intelligent individual. So he might not be the strongest guy in the hold...does that really matter so much if he can get the job done anyways? Heck he'll probably do a better job then some lackwit brute wouldn't you say? Perhaps because he is so smart Hans is generally pretty good at talking others into doing things - be that having a good time or just getting the job done in the manner HE see's best.

Hans would probably be a better person if he didn't know that he was as smart as he was - as it is the knowledge of his high intelligence does little but make him feel smarter then everyone else around him and while he doesn't mean to treat others in that fashion he still does. He's rather oblivious to the feelings of those around him once in a while.

He dosen't really mean to be a p***k however - everything he does in completely unintentional and if you really really need something Hans is as likely to give you the shirt off his back even as he tells you why your in the predicament you are and that it wouldn't have happened if you had just come to ask for his help first. Perhaps because he doesn't understand the way he comes across to other people Hans can take it fairly personally when someone indicates that he's done them wrong in some fashion - or even gets snappish with him and to be honest when he's upset Hans is a little bit overly emotional - granted loosing your Wher is a pretty good reason to sit in a field and weep but some of the handlers during the revolution thought he took it a bit over the top..I mean there was still fighting going on you know ?
