He had missed his chance at the meeting to investigate the Senshi’s notebook. He would not miss a second time. He waited, patrolling everywhere that he had found a reported sighting of her, making a grid across the roof tops as he searched by cross referencing between the points where she had been seen and a map of the city.

He considered himself quiet patient, but in truth the frustration of the search was growing on him before he finally saw her. There was something that rankled him more than normal to know that she had a notebook of her own. He wanted it, and he would HAVE it by god.

He teleported to her, summoning one of his smoke bombs as a preamble though he did not yet throw it. “I’ve been searching for you since the meeting Senshi, rather rude of you to run away before we’ve made introductions to be sure.”

Oh no no no this was the last damn thing that Albali needed! It was hard enough to dodge Dark Moon senshi, normal senshi, and then the Negaverse officers that she had no conflict with. Well if they were just willy-nilly hurting people then she tended to stop them and yes, she was killing their youma but they were nothing more than brainless monsters. They weren't people in any stretch of the imagination so Albali did not have to feel horribly guilty about eliminating them with a ruthless sort of energy.

Holding up both of her hands in the universal halting gesture she yelled perhaps a bit too loudly. "Stop! Stop right there. You've done that to me more than once already and it's not necessary. I'll just turn around and go my own way and you can do whatever the hell it is you're doing over here. I won't interfere." It wasn't cowardly, it was damn common sense. Then it hit her what exactly the General-King had said and she eased up on her flight stance for just a minute, frowning slightly.

"Looking for me? Why?"

He laughed quietly as the realization crept into her face and body language. Curiosity overtaking the wise caution and attempted negotiation of neutrality she had offered up moments before.

“I couldn’t help but notice the last time we met, that you had something of particular interest to me. You had a notebook; I’d very much like to have that… if you give it to me I will leave you in peace. If I must I can offer up violence in exchange for it.”

His tone was serious, and to be fair he had not said ‘kill’, only ‘violence’ though given the unnatural strength he possessed as a General King the threats were not mutually exclusive, only potentially more lingering if he were not careful with what he did.

Oh of course he wanted her notebooks, who the hell didn't? Albali was everywhere all the time at those damn meetings, scribbling on a clipboard or inside a thick notebook with her thoughts, impressions, and important things that could later be used as potential blackmail or usefulness if they ever plotted against her queen. Snorting at the threat, eyes rolled. "Don't you think you're being a little typical, General-King? You could bargain for it a bit easier than getting it away from me if you kill me. If you kill me then you'll never get what you want." Thinking it a little more as she backed up slowly, Albali shook her head.

"Yeah you could hurt me very badly instead of killing me but that also wouldn't get you what you want. But you have something I want and I'd be willing to trade it for something you want if you're willing to put that big bad Negaverse prince thing on a shelf long enough to listen to my offer." The senshi did not want to live in a world of pain but if she didn't talk fast he would probably do something ridiculously trite and useless to both of them. Zinkenite would beat the hell out of her, she'd refuse to give him what he wanted, he'd kill her, she'd never join Ares.

Useless all around as he would not then get her notebooks either. Not that he could read them as they were written entirely in Welsh (thank you grandmother) but that was a moot point right now. He'd asked for the book. He didn't ask for a translation. Yet.

“Oh yes? And what do you want in exchange?” He arched an eyebrow. “Aside from that… if you’re so willing to barter how do I know that’s not some blank copy?” He quirked an eyebrow at her, watching her closely, something had her convinced that simply taking it would not benefit him, that either meant she didn’t have the one he was interested in, or she had coded it. If she’d coded it as –he- had with at best sporadic use of vowels to make the translation that much harder, then it could take years to decrypt if not longer.

He LIKED this senshi, his eyes glittered at the idea of taking her to their own ranks. He’d do it in a heartbeat if it meant getting his hands on not only that information but the chance at someone who might qualify as a peer in his own area of study.

He was taking the bait, good. Having a General-King that thought you were useful meant that he might not let his underlings kill you out of hand, might actually be decent protection if she would trade information. Yes it was betraying the senshi to their enemies but what did she care for that? The meeting had told Sailor Albali that Princess Ares and her court were allies of the Negaverse now for whatever reason that was. Selling information to the Negaverse was just as good as giving it to the Dark Mirror queen herself, though there were going to be tidbits that the ribboned senshi kept solely for her queen.

You never gave your best stuff away.

Pulling out a thick notebook that was crowded edge to edge with writing in a fluid hand in an unintelligible language she fanned the pages out so that Zinkenite could see that he would be getting more than he bargained for before it vanished back into her hammerspace. "You lead the Negaverse which means that you know Princess Ares. I want you to tell her that it would be good for everybody if she brought me through a mirror to serve her. Just tell her that Albali would be useful, support me when you speak with her, and I'll give you some of my information." Her lips curved knowing that though he could hurt her very badly, this guy was in prime position to help her for almost scraps.

"I have some very good information."

He tipped his head back and laughed. She was dangling this bit before him like a scrap to a starving dog, and by god he was interested. “I have indeed spoken directly to Ares.” He nodded and pulled his mask down looking at you with the amusement someone might have for a new toy or pet. “But why should I recommend someone who clearly shows more in common with my line of thinking… to her? If it’s corruption you want, I can bring you to our side easily. What could you have to offer the queen of the Dark Mirrors? Trivia? I am not given to the impression that she’d care.”

Surprise registered in Albali's face as he offered her corruption into the Negaverse, something that the violet-haired senshi hadn't ever considered in the scheme of...well, her scheme. He would take her information, disseminate it, realize it was useful and then would tell Ares that her former right-hand was still incredibly useful. It could backfire in that Ares would keep her as a spy in the White Moon Court yet the Echoes senshi was hoping her usefulness as a lieutenant would outweigh that.

Apparently her usefulness appealed to someone else. Blinking and processing the offer she pushed out a smile to answer his question. "I swore an oath to Ares that I would follow where she led. My loyalty is to her and no one idea or faction or army but for reasons unknown she has refused so far to bring me over. I have no desire to serve your queen, only my own and this offer is only valid in the terms I've requested." Her emotions could not be brought to bear on the issue because this General-King did not know her, did not seem to know Ares very well, but any little support that the Senshi of Echoes could get was good support.

"Are you not allies? Any information that I would garner as a member of her court would be shared, wouldn't it?" Probably not all of it but enough. Enough to make it worthwhile, she hoped.

“You would follow to Chaos, who Ares now serves as well, hardly a betrayal of your oath, simply not the division that you might otherwise have found yourself.” He countered. “Though our alliance is not easy, If I simply sent you to her, or whispered in her ear that I find you potentially useful for a few notebooks found on earth, that may only confirm what I have written, who’s to say that she will even take another look at you? Who’s to say that you won’t simply be kept so that she can attempt to do what you’re doing, dangling information in front of me in hopes of drawing favors out of me?”

He folded his arms. “Nevermind, that I don’t seem to see anything I recognize in the pages you just flashed at me.”

So many what-ifs! To an ordered mind the threat of so many open possibilities was quite horrifying and almost incapacitating had it not been that Albali had thought of several of those before, especially when it came to her usefulness in the new Dark Moon Court. Something that ZInkenite did not entirely seem to realize in his long list of what-if scenarios is that the Senshi of Echoes didn't much care what her role was below Ares whether it was a simple foot soldier or bait dangled on a hook; she simply wanted to serve in a desperate, blind way that was probably going to get her killed before anything else might occur.

To not try and achieve her goal, however, was worse than failing at it. To never try was to fail before you even began and was something that only true idiots and cowards indulged in! Albali was neither an idiot nor a coward so she faced the General-King down squarely and only gave him another placid smile. "That is only because you don't speak my language. I'm sure you'd figure out pretty quickly which language I've been scribbling in; I promise it's translatable. You can make your case all you want, sir, but it remains that I only want to serve Princess Ares from inside her court and not your own. I know how your kind feel about senshi and I'm not keen to put myself beneath that opinion. Respectfully." Really she wanted to tell him that there was no way in hell she was going to be under the thumb of someone that loathed everything she was (even though she loathed herself), but you just weren't rude to someone whom you were asking a favor from.

Eilian's mother would have just died to know she was considering it!

"I'm afraid though, that without some kind of reassurance on your part you won't even get to look any closer at what I've written. You'll simply have to have faith that my desire for your goodwill outweighs my desire to trick you into a deal. Though I think you're smart enough to realize that this is a win/win situation for you, whichever way you turn."

“My Kind…” he laughed, a flash of irritation flickering though his eyes at the turn of phrase. “I, at least do not hate senshi as a ‘species’, I believe some of you are capable of being saved.”

He narrowed his eyes and studied you. “So what you truly need, since you seem to have utterly failed to impress the Queen of Mirrors and Smoke herself… is to have someone speak on your behalf. Someone who understands the value of what you at least say you have to offer. If I could, and I can… speak to Ares on your behalf, thus extoling your virtues… you would then be beholden to me. Understand that if she turns you down again, I’ll either kill or corrupt you the next time we speak, I will not stand and banter over the divisions of Chaos and the allegiances within.”

That had her raising a dubious eyebrow. "Do you really? Well that perhaps that makes you of a different mind than every other officer of your queen that I've met." Of course she'd also met them while witnessing and transcribing their torture so that would perhaps put a bit of a strain on the intergroup relationship. Not something that was going to be mentioned out loud, however. "Still, your personal feelings aside I doubt I would be attached to your hip for the duration of my stay in the Negaverse and I really have no desire to work with anyone that sees me as something less than human. Even if I weren't a senshi." Not that the wealthy, white-skinned Eilian would have ever known about discrimination or hardship otherwise; she was the poster child for privilege.

His offer, though rife with the potential to explode in her face, was fair. Besides, he wasn't going to learn much more than there was dissent amongst the senshi as to what should be done with the forces of Chaos. If they were considered worth saving or if they ought to be killed, things that she thought were general knowledge to anyone with half of a brain. Zinkenite seemed to have almost a whole brain and perhaps might be able to decipher some more cryptic comments about the fact that most first-rank senshi these days weren't able to access a lot of the information that made the veterans so very dangerous.

Considering the offer for a long moment the senshi grasped her notebook, flinging it like a frisbee towards the General King. The pages fluttered with her crisp handwriting as she spoke. "Fair enough. It would be an insult to your position for you to chase at Princess Ares' heels on my behalf and I'm not sure I could possess any information worthwhile enough for you to do such a thing. If you can convince her then I will be doubly beholden to you and if your wishes did not conflict with the wishes and orders of my queen, I would be willing to help you if you requested me." Alliances were forged in stranger ways, to be sure.

It never hurt to have a General King on your side.

“It’s been a pleasure having this talk with you… Blood Moon Senshi.” He said after catching the notebook, glancing at the cover of it and tucking it inside the long coat he wore. “I hope you join your true queen soon…” He turned and, without another word, vanished into the heart of Chaos from whence he came.
