Kaly had only recently left her mother and father, and headed out on her own. She'd led a sheltered life up til now, there was a lot of world out there to see, and other Azrein to meet. She'd heard tell of creatures called humans, but she had yet to see one. She had also heard of her kind bonding with these humans, as well as with lesser creatures like Sairys. She hoped that one day, she might find a creature like that to have as a friend. One that would love her, and go wherever she went. But for now, she traveled alone. She kept to the roads, as a safety precaution. Her parents had suggested that to her, and she was heading for the King's castle. For that was where, she was told, she would find the largest settlement of humans. She wondered what they would look like.
