Phoenix found himself wandering through the land. He was still looking for an exact purpose, his father was a pure unicorn, and while he had unicorn blood that aided his own healing he had no power to help those around him... except with herbs, something he had been learning but still not mastered. Perhaps he wasn't cut out for this? Finding a nice spot he settled down and looked up at the stars. They were so beautiful tonight, like lovely little firewalls that sparkled and twinkled like fireflies in the sky. "My, my." He said with a chuckle. "It seems my destiny is going to change...."

Zaniah crept away from her family and into the night. Soon one day she was convinced she'd be up there with the stars, she was determine to make it happen. Skipping around in the grass not looking where she was going she stumbled over a small rock and soon met the floor with a thud, "…my bad.."
She picked herself up and dusted her self off, looking up she saw a stranger just within her ear shot, maybe it was someone in her herd and she might just be being silly! She wasn't sure.
She took a few steps close,"What is the change? Do you know?" She knew it was a little rude but still looked up at the stars confused,"How do you know?"

Phoenix heard a noise, his ears flickering slightly as he tried to locate it... it was gone. He had returned his gaze to the stars when a female voice, the same one he was sure, rang out again, this time much closer. His glowing gold eyes looked from the sky to the owner of it. Only to pause. An Angeni... his eyes fell upon her horn... no, an Angenicorn. Rare and magnificent creatures, it took a physical shake of his head, his long golden hair shimmering around him like a waterfall. "Excuse my rudeness Angel." He said, a soft smile upon his lips, "I did not mean to stare." Phoenix had often found himself being stared at, and while he was used to it now it sometimes made him feel uncomfortable.... perhaps it was simply down to who was staring. As his mind thought on her chirped questions he looked up at the stars. "They told me." He said matter-of-factly. Like his father he believed that the stars could offer guidance and wisdom, unlike his father he did not live his life as strickly by their words.

Zaniah had never been called Angel before, nothing other than her real name and a few names given to her by her parents and sisters, mostly it was just Zaniah. It made her smile a little inside although she tried not to crack too much on the outside,"do not apologise for staring at the skies, it is a beautiful thing and everyone should enjoy it, should they not?"
Zaniah was now faced with a soft smile and a soft glow from the stranger,"ah, yes. They do speak, but I'm afraid I'm not always so understanding of them", she exhaled,"you must be very gifted."
His appearance did not scare her, it was just rare she'd talk to those other than her sisters so it was enough to make her nervous.

He smiled at her words, sure that she had misunderstood his apology, not that he would be rude enough to correct. He had been apologising for staring at her, not the skies. Perhaps she was simply used to people looking at her, she was a rare creature after all, and a beauty at that with her midnight coloured wings that seemed to echo the very sky above.
In appearances Phoenix was just a regular stallion, well, with the unusual trait of glowing hooves and eyes, that shone very much like the stars his father held so dearly. "My father," He started, returning his gaze back to her, "taught me. He uses them to find those that need his assistance. A travelling healer."
Deciding it was only polite he nodded to the empty grass beside him. "Join me. I shall see what they say about you. If you want that is." Phoenix was far from demanding, willing to go with the flow, and never one to force another to do anything they didn't want to... unless it was to save their life, only then would he take action into his own hooves.

Zaniah really did smile properly this time. The stallion's gentle eyes did seem to wander, but she didn't mind too much, she didn't really say much about the staring because sometimes it was hard for her to focus her eyes herself in the dark and she'd put it down to that.
Her eyes wandered slowly along his pelt and down hits long mane. 'A phoenix', she thought. "Ah interesting. Do you wish to do that same? Or are is your path to be decided by yourself?"
She wasn't so sure if he would entirely be the one to follow, but he looked like the type who could, healers were aways the most useful folk, but never thanked enough.
Zaniah hesitated for a moment,'no tricks, she thought to herself.' Her daddy told her about strange folk in the dark, but she agreed anyway,"that'd be interesting to hear, for I do not actually know where I am going." She was soon at his side.
She didn't know if he cared to know her name but she introduced herself to be kind and polite anyway,"my name's Zaniah. Who might you be stranger?" She didn't like calling him this but right now that's all be was, a traveling stranger, but not as strange as some strangers could be!

He wrinkled his nose up for a moment then laughed softly, "I do not have the same skills as my father, he is a pure unicorn...." He flicked his tail, causing the beads to jingle a little and send little glistening rainbows scattering across the floor until they settled again. "...not that you could tell that from looking at me." Perhaps it explained his personality, unicorns were known for the gentleness after all.
As she sat down he nodded a little, a gentle smile upon his face even as he made no move to get closer or scare her. Not that Phoenix had such intention, no, he was simply thinking to offer what he had said. No more or less. When she offered her name he bowed his head, his chin touching the ground and he closed his eyes, removing some of the light that had illuminate him as he did so, at least until he opened them again. "A pleasure. I was just about to ask for you name... it will help in my reading." He stopped his rambling a little and got to the point, "My pleasure Angel Zaniah, my name is Phoenix." Ever since the Phoenix had appeared on his basket his mother had seen him as a good luck charm, as was her faith. "Now... to the stars."
He looked up at them, falling silent for a moment. "I see... trouble a head, or turbulance at least. Things will change, decisions like none you have had to make before unfolding before you." He frowned a little, "Two paths lie ahead."

"That doesn't matter to me, I'm none too sure about my healing properties…I think I count still as half angeni corn because both of my parents were both half angenicorn too but they turned out to be Agenicorn in appearance. I'm not so sure of my powers or if I really have any for sure. I think if I do have any they're weak. It's a skill to be able to do it without magic." Zaniah knew she was rambling he hoped he wouldn't mind,"some people just look more like one parent than the other. Your mother a regular then? Just like my grandma and granddad." She grinned, although she was technically not a full angenicorn, she still appeared as such, although she'd gladly admit her mixed heritage.
After revealing her name the stranger put out the light in his eyes by closing them, and as he did her ears perked up, she was going to ask him if he was okay, but it seems his calmness was just an attribute of his,"Phoenix. It is very nice to meet you Phoenix." She had many questions to ask but decided she wouldn't for now, she just waited in peace because the stars only wanted the silence.
She tried not to gawp, at him when he read and just looked up too,"you can tell my sign?"
Maybe it was vibe he got, or maybe he was special,"hmmm…I see… I know the stars are never so clear but I will have to think about this."

"I see." He said softly, "Lineage doesn't change your heart." he was no ashamed of his lineage, no, he was proud of it. He did miss his mother though, hadn't seen her since he, Sin and their father had left to continued his fathers work. His brother was a strange one, more fascinated in poison than healing, but again Phoenix loved him all the same. "Yes, she is a beautiful creature. Blessed." He didn't go into too much, the memories of her, the image in his head, almost too fragile to speak out loud.
Phoenix looked back up at the stars. "You are a virgo." He looked back at her and chuckled, "Am I right?" He tilted his head a little to the left as he simply looked over at her.

She couldn't deny that he was right, Phoenix spoke honest words. She'd never herd someone speak so fondly on their mother in that way, he spoke much more formal than her and she felt a little inadequate around him.
"Yes you are", she just wanted to say to him oh you're just too good but she kept that one in for herself,"that fascinates me. Tell me, what pray is your sign Phoenix?"

Phoenix couldn't help but chuckle a little as she told him he was right. It had taken many evenings learning to read them, and he wasn't always right... in fact, he had nearly not said Virgo, had nearly said Libra instead. What had called to him was not just the stars but her eyes of Sapphire.
"Do you believe in the stars?" He found himself asking, more than aware that not everyone did, not everyone saw them the same. Then again, most slept at this time of night... yet here Zaniah was, awake and not at all appearing sleepy. "You are a night dweller?" He found himself asking curiously, before answering her question. "I am an Aquarius." He chuckled a little to himself at her choice of words, while there was nothing wrong with them he had a feeling she didn't usually use them. It was rude to laugh though, so he stifled the sound before it got too much. In the hopes of offering a distraction, and removing any hurt his laugh may have caused he found himself asking, "Would you like to learn?" He looked up at the sky again, "To read them I mean."

Zaniah nodded,"very much so, they hold a great significance to my herd, or I atleast like to think so." Usually around this time she was being ushered back into bed by the protectors who were still awake, but now she was older it was more of a suggestion than a rule.
Zaniah smiled,"not as such, I don't wait for the sun to rise but I do sleep longer than my sisters during day light hours because I enjoy it out here. Like this." She'd wondered the same about him but thought it rude to ask back,"ah, water carrier."
Zaniah hadn't really noticed what was funny, unless it was herself, she tried to keep the same expression but always felt silly around strangers,"ha! Do you think I could?"

"Ah. You have a herd." He could see that, Angeni's were rare but he could easily imagine them sticking together. Especially since there were strange creatures that hunted their kind, almost believing them to be myths, or that by taking their life would somehow enhance their own. Phoenix didn't believe any of that. He simply believed that they were fallen Angels, or rather Angels walking upon the earth. Beautiful charms for the world. Gifts. "You are all night dwellers then?" He asked a little curiously, though he wouldn't have blamed her for not answering.
As she spoke of herself a little, and her sisters, he couldn't help but wonder what his own sister was doing right now, liking sleeping since she was a day dweller mostly. "I see. I must admit I agree with you, the night, with the stars and Moon are treasures that should be appreciated more. So many ignore them, sleeping through their quiet beauty." He blushed a little at his words, thankful that it was too dark to see.
As she asked if she could Phoenix nodded. "Of course, I can not teach you much in one eve, but I can show you a little if you so wish it?" To help an Angel read the stars? The irony was not lost upon him.

Zaniah looked at the glowing stallion again, she could not see any iris nor pupil, they were all one, but still they were calming, perhaps another colour might've been a little more alarming.
"No we are not. I'm just the odd ball. It's just me out here, although the protectors take it in turns to do night and day. I'm surprised you've managed to get past them, if they arrive I'll tell them you're with me. Things are more guarded during the night." Angeni mainly wandered during day and their enemies at night, usually.
"I know this may be a silly question because you read stars! But, are you a night dweller?" Zaniah had really no idea of how to deal with strangers but he seemed okay, not so sure of himself, but very nice to her. "It is a fact that the sun does bring happiness, maybe they only appreciate that star because it appears to be bigger and more clear." Zaniah laughed,"although it's the only star you must not look at!"
"I would be very grateful for your help Phoenix." She spoke his name so as not to forget it in her memories. For a moment she thought that maybe he was more deserving to be with the stars than herself, one day it would happen.
