The beach was quiet today. At least where Aquitaine was. In the distance she could hear her brother playing, her parents talking, but where she stood it was quiet. Only the waves lapping up on the sand and the occasional cry of a gull overhead interrupted the quiet. She loved times like this, where she could think and explore and not be bothered by distracting noises. At firsts he spend some time looking at the shells that had washed up onto the sand over night. They were pretty but she had plenty of others like them back home. What she wanted to find was something unique, something she or her brothers hadn't seen before.

Casting her gaze out over the water the filly watched the waves for a minute. They were small, only the gentlest of breezes moved along the water. It was perfect for taking a bit of a swim. Aquitaine loved to swim, but swimming made her curious about what was under the water. She knew there were breeds of Soquili that lived in these waters, ones that could not come out onto land. Wading into the water until it was up to her chest Aquitaine took a deep breath and then plunged her head under the water. She opened her eyes but it was hard to see under the water, the salt stung her eyes and so she was forced to abandon her underwater search right after it started. Giving her head a shake Aquitaine stepped further into the ocean until her hooves could no longer touch the sandy bottom and began swimming about, humming lightly to herself as she enjoyed the water and dreamed about what it was like underneath the waves.

Cyllene swam around, belly-upwards in a style that was unusual for her species. Her eyes were closed, content to soak up some sun near the surface of the water. Catching a quiet moment was unusual for her, but today was such a nice day she couldn't help but want to relax for just a few moments. The water was calm, the sun's rays warm and the shore abandoned. Her belly was full full after a breakfast spent feasting on clams, adding to her languor.

"Ahh, this is the life." She mumbled quietly, a few bubbles escaping from the corners of her mouth, slowly spiralling to burst on the surface. Her tail swished from side to side, moving her about slowly, and though she kept far enough away from the sea floor to avoid hitting her head on rocks, she didn't give much thought as to where she was going.

So calm and tranquil was her state, that she started to doze off. Her brain lulled into a slowler mode, thoughts drifting off into the tendrils of a dream. But her tail kept propelling her, and little did she know that she was heading right for the legs of a nearby filly.

"ARGHMFFFFF, what?" She exclaimed as she collided head-first into Aquitaine's hind leg, jarring her suddenly awake.

This was great. The waves were small still so Aquitaine was free to stay out swimming for a while longer, though she would be sure to keep an eye out for any changes in the water to tell her the swimming conditions were no longer safe. It was important to keep her attention on the water since father and mother had warned her how quickly the ocean could change from calm to wavy and if she didn't react fast enough to those changes there was a chance of getting swept out too far to made land again. This was also the reason why Aquitaine always let her parents know that she was going swimming, so that they too would be watching her and the water for any signs of danger.

With that thought in mind Aquitaine nearly screamed when something bumped into her leg. What was that?! She tried hard not to panic but remembering her fathers stories about Kelpi and other creatures that lived in the ocean made her fearful. She finally gave into her fear and let out a small scream before craning her head to see what it was, all the while keeping her legs going so she could escape if necessary. Something orange was under the water...and it looked sort of like a Soquili but also sort of like a fish. And it was small. Calm down, she told herself, something this small shouldn't be dangerous. But she did make sure to be pointed towards the beach just in case.

"Hello?" She said to the small orange Soquili fish, though honestly Aquitaine wasn't sure if it would be able to hear her being under the water.
