As she stirred, all she could remember was the pain.

The most horrible, excruciating, unimaginable pain coursing it's way through her body. Her nerves were firing at full capacity, transmitting agony to every part of her body in thick and fast waves, engulfing her completely to the point where she couldn't even tell if she was screaming or sobbing or just silent. It was like a monster was tearing it's way into her chest and rotting there, infecting and infesting her with some terrible disease.

And then it had stopped, and she remembered falling.

Blue eyes blinked open, groggy at first, a pale, slender hand reaching up to brush sleep from the corners. Her back groaned as she tried to find a position more typical of a regular person rather than an acrobatic monkey, her limbs pushing her up into a sitting position on the old wooden, somewhat uncomfortable chair.

Where was she? Eos brushed a few ridiculously long - had her hair always been that long? - strands of blonde hair from her face, eyes wide as she surveyed her surroundings. She was sat at a large, somewhat grand table in the centre of a room, various papers and figures scattered across its grainy surface. There was an air of gloom about the place, with just enough light to allow you to see. And at the head of the table, not that far away from her, sat a hunched-over figure furiously studying something that must have been important.

She was scared. Where was she? Who was she? Unable to herself herself, Eos let out a petrified sob, beginning to shake as she become overwhelmed by the situation set before her.

The man at the table looked up at the sound of the sob, his face was haggard, and that was really the only word for it. Tired to the bone but still pushing, still driving himself onward on some task that needed completed. As soon as he realized you were well, and truly looking back at him, even if you were terrified he sat up straighter, pushing back the indigo hair from his face.

“Good morning.” He said after a moment, letting a wry smile creep into the corners of his mouth. He stood slowly, easy to read the tired ache in his movement though he was at the same time, determined to be dignified, stately. “Eos” he said the name, sliding a paper across the table towards him to give it a brief glance before turning his gaze back towards you.

“How are you feeling?”

He stood, standing taller and getting more intimidating. Stuck in her chair Eos could only cower back into the wood, wide blue eyes regarding the somewhat tired expression on his face with a mixture of fear and awe. He wasn't actually all that tall - far from it, really - but the way he held himself and his obvious authority was enough to force Eos to swallow the sizeable lump that had formed in her throat.

It was morning? How could he tell? She watched his lips stretch into a smile before he spoke again, a name that despite being hers sounded foreign. Was she still Eos? She didn't know, she was so confused and so tired and so scared. Still, he seemed concerned, and she didn't want to be rude.

"I...I don't know." There was a considerable pause before she found her voice, Eos suddenly finding her mouth dry. "Where am I? What happened?"

He nodded as though he understood, it was the same as had happened with Lyra, though she had been in a strange way willing, because she thought she was saving him, the civilian, never knowing that he was the same as the General who had taken her.

“Your name as a Senshi is Eos, you were part of a battle, you fought against me and mine, rather than kill you, I changed you. It’s something our side has proved more willing to even –consider, the side of the war you once sided with, will probably opt to kill you now though I fear. They would simply kill all of us if they had the chance.”

He crouched before you, looking up at your face but leaning away from the tears that ran down your cheeks. “According to my notes, you were ‘Senshi of the Senses’, I know you will have lost your memories, it’s an unfortunate effect of what it took to… bring you to our side. Your old life is, in effect…gone. You will need to choose a name, we will find you a place to live, find you work as well. You are currently within what we call the Rift, the once great kingdom of Earth. My name is Zinkenite, I am General-King.”

There was so much information to process, and the blonde merely stared at the General-King with wide eyes as he listed off the answers to her questions in a rather matter-of-fact way. Eos...yes, that sounded right, she already knew that. The mention of battles and sides was nothing more than a blur in her mind, though it felt familiar, as if she'd been there but couldn't remember.

She'd been changed - well, that much made sense. Her body felt foreign to her, though in a strange way still familiar, as if she'd finally been truly awoken. The dark-haired boy - he wasn't much older than her, but he spoke with the voice of a wise, tired old man - didn't betray any emotion, even though she wanted some sympathy. She presumed he'd done what was right, but this confusion and aching was his fault. "Why do they want to hurt me? ...Hurt us?" Was this what she was now, part of an army? Was that what she had been before?

Senshi of the Senses, that seemed obvious too. Sailor Eos, Senshi of the Senses. It struck a note deep inside her chest, ringing true with her inner workings. Lost memories, old life gone...in all honesty, she didn't know what he was talking about. She was scared, was there an old life? Eos remembered nothing right now, she could simply have been born right here in this chair a few moments ago. Another tear rolled down her cheek. It felt as if she'd lost control, like everything was unravelling around her. "Naomi," she choked through her tears, barely more than a whisper. "I like the name Naomi."

She sniffed, trying to pull herself together. What she wanted more than anything was a hug, for someone to wrap their arms around her and ruffle her hair and whisper into her ear, telling her everything would be okay. Zinkenite didn't exactly look like the type, however. "D-Do I answer to you, then?" General-King sounded pretty fancy, after all, and she briefly wondered if she should have added a 'sir'.

“Because they see you as a traitor, I’m afraid I gave you little choice but to date, it has made VERY little difference in how they respond to this.” He hesitated, edgy about the tears and the sobbing. He really SHOULD do something about this, he really should, just…tears.

“Would you like some Tea Naomi?” He offered, really that was so much better than hugs. Hugs tended to make people cry even more; he was sure enough of –that- little fact. Perhaps he could call in Azurite and make HER do some hugging. He was fairly sure she’d do so without too many questions.

“Ultimately, yes, you would report to me and any other General-King or General-Queen, though I advise you not stray too close to Tanzanite if you can avoid it. The Order senshi have done her a great deal of wrong, likewise their ‘Knights’.

“I will find you someone to live with though, no one who once knew you should know you now. Hence needing a new name, it’s a fresh start. For so many people it is a very good thing to have, though I understand it must be terrifying.”

A traitor? Was that what she was? Lip wobbled dangerously and tears rose in her eyes again, but she managed to compose herself enough to avoid the waterworks. "So...why? I mean, why me?" She didn't understand why he'd done this. To be honest, she didn't really understand what he'd done.

Tea? Her eyes softened, and Eos gave a small nod. There were more of Zinkenite? He threw some names out that she didn't recognize, but she did make a mental note to try and remember that Tanzanite wasn't very friendly. Order senshi, Knights? Again, nothing but but vague recollections stirred inside her head, and it occured to Eos that she had a lot to learn. Or re-learn. "Zinkenite?" She wanted to make sure she had his attention, and swallowed the lump in her throat before she continued, "What...what am I, now?" She was different, she could feel it.

No-one would know who she was? Eos began to panic, but her fears eased as she realized she didn't really remember...anything. Or anyone. She was a new person, and like Zinkenite said, this was a new start. Should she be grateful? Terrifying was an understatement, but Eos wanted to be brave. She was scared she was making a fool of herself. "Will you help me? I...I don't know where to go. I don't know what to do."

Did she have a job? A family?

He slipped around the question of ‘Why’, he was not ready to answer that question, and perhaps he would never be unless it was to push away insults towards her nature. “You are still Senshi, you always will be, that means you were, are bound to another world, you may be forever such, or… if you are fully, totally loyal to us, there have been those who have… ascended, like Alkaid, senshi of Guidance. She holds the rank of General by right due to her loyalty; however, I know that is not the path for everyone though. We still have need of the magic that senshi poses.”

He fetched a thermos and a paper cup from beside the enormous old table he’d been sitting at, refreshing a cup of his own and then pouring a fresh cup for you. It smelled of honey, oranges and a touch of clove and cinnamon.

“I will help you, we will help you, not all of us will be pleased with you, but enough shall. Respect the officers, know that many of them have lost to senshi, or lost friends to them. Some were even tortured by senshi so be patient, as I hope they will be patient with you.”

He took a deep breath and a sip of tea. “I’ll see to it that you are given new ID, we will see about a place to stay and someone to stay with. We will look into getting you a job as well.” He nodded thoughtfully. “We’ll find your skills, in all areas and put them to use. I’ll arrange for some tests as well, determine if you should be attending a school or not.”

Another world? His words stirred something inside of her, a long-forgotten memory, and the feeling was odd enough to cause her to drop the terrified expression she'd been gripped by in order to frown. She could...remember. But she couldn't. The knowledge that there was something beside emptiness was reassuring, but his continuing speech forced her back to the present as she regarded the General-King with wide blue eyes.

She shyly reached out, nervously taking the tea that was poured from her and allowed the aroma to waft around her nostrils before she took a small sip. It was delicious, and she took another, the warm liquid noticeably relaxing her tensed muscles. The way Zinkenite spoke, there was a long journey before her, and Eos slowly began to panic again. "I'm not sure I'm strong enough," she whispered, afraid of those that might dislike her. She didn't think she could handle it, didn't want to handle it.

The mention of a job, an ID, a home, it was refreshing to have the conversation turn to normality. She nodded wearily, taking another sip of her tea. There was a long pause after he spoke, before a timid voice finally left the blonde's lips, "Thank you, Zinkenite."

“You are stronger than you think, and you will become stronger still. Besides, the point is not that we are strong only alone, the point is that we are strongest together. That is something it seems that Order has yet to learn, they are too focused on being the one that stands the tallest, the bravest, the most… unique.” He shrugged.

“You are strong enough.” He said after a pause. “Do not panic, find it within yourself because this IS your home now, it is a hard life but it is a better life.”

His reassurances did make her feel a little better, and being told that she was stronger than she thought gave the blonde the slight flutter of an ego boost. Her lips twitched in the barest hint of a smile as she watched the General King, still somewhat lost with these mentions of Order and Chaos, all of these we's and they's.

Hard but better. Eos had to think about it for a few moments before she realized that that was possible, and did make sense. You didn't get anything good in life without working for it, and perhaps the same logic applied here. She swallowed, dragging a gloved hand across her face to remove the last of the tears. "What happens now?"

“Now I find you someone to help guide you through the civilian world, make sure that we can set you up with a room, with schooling if you need it, potentially a job.” He blinked owlishly watching your face as though searching for some hint of recognition , or at the least some sliver of a reaction towards any of those words. Not memories per say, but something more like a reflex. It was a theory he had, but it was hardly as though he had much opportunity to study it.

He picked up a sheet of paper and started skimming it over, looking for Officers that might have had contact with her in the past, preferably ones that wouldn’t want to kill her out of hand.

“And I will try and answer questions if you can pose specifics, or try to. It’s hard to replenish what is gone if I have no idea where to start, perhaps food?”

To guide her? Eos nodded warily, swallowing another lump. That sounded...that sounded good. She wanted someone to hold her hand, to hold her close and tell her everything was alright. Someone to tell her what she knew, what she didn't know, tell her what she did now. Schooling was brought up again, and she frowned - she wasn't entirely sure what she thought of that, but she supposed it was something she could think about later. When her head wasn't so, y'know, upside down and back to front.

His words were so natural, so friendly, and she wanted to shuffled closer. She wanted contact, a hug, and pat on the head, anything. But instead Eos remained where she was, trying to rack her brain for specifics as the General King had asked. "Food?" she repeated, not entirely sure where he was going. She somehow knew that her favourite food was strawberries, even though she couldn't really remember eating them. "I like strawberries," she offered, hoping that would answer him. "And books. B-But...not to eat." Her voice disappeared to a whisper, embarrassment turning her cheeks pink.
