Personality: Xolani is a complex individual. He is almost always all smiles, and yet has no qualms with crushing your hopes of making it out of an impossible situation by stating that it is in fact, more than likely, impossible. He does not do it to be cruel, though at times it seems that way, but he just doesn’t see the point of lying to make someone feel better. s**t happens, the world sucks, and he is a strong believer in facing whatever life throws at him with a grin and a handshake. He has a fondness of animals, and while always willing to chat and assist anyone who does not wish to stab him on sight, often prefers their company over the humanoid variety. He is also fond of play on words humor (puns) and will utilize them whenever possible
Description: Leaf ears, eye color (a sort of sage green), and pink gems (in sizes, locations and shapes of the artist’s choosing) Shifter skin (again artist choice) hair(style is also artist choice)
Clothing: (Artist’s choice. I really do like surprises)
Accessories: With his fondness of animals of all sorts, he’s often seen with such things as feathers, claws, teeth, and other such things on his person
History: Xolani was born of a Shifter father and a Leaf mother. Neither tribe was very happy with his parent’s union or his birth, nor did either want anything to do with them until at least the other half was out of the picture. For most of his life, Xolani and his family were nomads, living off the land and seeking shelter in the oddest of places, which made him learn quickly that life wasn’t fair. Still, they were happy, and slowly Xo learned about animals and plants from his mother, and how to fight from his father. About a year ago, his mother became ill and passed on, and while saddened, he and his father returned to the Shifter tribe to ask for entry, and they were permitted to stay so long as they remained on the edge of the settlement on a trial run basis to see of Xolani was worth keeping around.

=D First off, Xolani and Aminah can be best friends!
They’re the only two Shifter/Leaf mixes. X3
Just a few questions for you~~
So, what is that encourages Xolani to be so happy? His intense realism (and rough history) makes it seem as though an ultra-optimistic attitude would be unlikely, especially when mixed with his preference for animals to humans. Does he smile more when he’s not around people? Is the smile genuine, or a façade put on to get through those encounters that he’s less inclined to?
You say that Xolani was re-established into the Shifter tribe on only a trial basis. Was his father re-welcomed, or is he also on trial? What is Xolani’s relationship with his father? Was he alright with the decision to return to the Shifters; does he have any sort of pull towards or interest in the Leaf Tribe?

Yay for lovely critique first off!
Xolani's father was, overall, an optimist, and has always lived by the term 'kill them with kindness' which won the affections of a usually pessimistic leaf tribe lady and made for Xolani's birth. Just because he'd rather hang with a beasty then a person doesn't mean he dislikes them, and being nice over all helps out with not getting stabbed.
Realist isn't probably the best term for it now that I think about it. Direct perhaps, such as blunt is a characteristic that has been taken. He'll let you know that dress makes you look fat, or that your beloved pet did in fact get eaten and didn't just 'run away', not because he's mean per-say, but that he really doesn't like sugar coating things in order to make things seem less bad. Overly truthful, if that makes any semblance of sense.
His father is more on a semi-trial. Less watching and restrictions and such, but more then your average Shifter. After the death of his mother, Xolani's father lost his usual optimism, and plunged into a horrible depression, so it was Xolani's suggestion to return to the Shifters so his father could have more people around him. While still sorrowed, Xolani's father has been perking up from where he was before. Xolani's just worried about his father right now, but overall their relationship is a good one.

=D That all makes plenty of sense~
So, what is Xolani's opinion of his mother's Tribe?
Would he have gone to live with them if he didn't have to worry about his father, or does he feel pretty similarly about both the Shifters and Leaf Tribe?

As soon as I hit send I realized I didn't answer that question prior. My apologies ^^
Xolani thinks of the Leaf tribe the same as he thinks of the Shifter tribe. Still, he probably would have joined the Shifters, as while he sticks out in either tribe, it's easier for him to blend in with the shifter's skin coloration. Blue skin in a tan word makes for easy target if something goes wrong within the hierarchy, or so he assumes.
