Day 1 in Norway ~ It's all about getting there!

Passed a reindeer right before the Norweigan border, he's looking at me like "take a picture, it'll last longer" and I remembered to do so! xd
It's a good thing it was just that one... getting stuck behind a herd of hundreds of reindeers isn't ideal when trying to get somewere, they don't run of the road when cars come driving, they run down the road until they find a spot they like before leaving the road. This one found that good spot after only a minute though. ^^

First picture after the border...nothing special about it and taken fron inside the car so the road is a bit blurry.

Still in the car taking pointless pictures... xp

Mountains with snow, not something I'm used to seing since I live so far south. These are right by the Swedish border and the further in to Norway we got the wilder the mountains got. In sweden we call our mountains "fjäll", they're pretty smooth and most of them look much like this one, not many cliffs and not so steep. The farther in to Norway we got the more pointy the mountains got. mrgreen

The first town we got to after 2 hours driving, it's not exactly overly populated in northern Norway. A nice little harbour town with odd people in it...

Finally by the house, this is were we stayed the week!
...It's a joke, the next pic is the house! rofl

Alright, this is the house we stayed in for real now. It's actually diveded into 4 apartments and my fairly large faimly group stayed in two of them. The entire area is owned by relatives and this house atand were my fiance's grandfathers family barn once stood and the house behind it (barely visible on the left) is were he grew up.

This is taken behind the house by the lake were we took baths almost every day despite it being around 50-60 degrees farenheit in both water and air. The mountain is called the Hamsun Mountain and is named after Knut Hamsun who won the nobleprize in literature in 1920. The whole region is more or less devoted to him.
