( Quest for an eventual custom char)

Name: Tahira
Race: Alkidike/ earthling: wind
Gender: Female
Base Traits: Obsessive, Thrill seeker, Dedicated.
Class: Possibly sacred heart but I don't wanna be pinned down just yet as I'm also contemplating the earthling sorcerer or mystic routes. It's hard finding a specific thing that fits to her just yet, everything feels a little not quite right.
Personality:

Tahira is an energetic young woman who’s going headfirst into whatever the future holds. Daring and determined she’ll try anything not obviously fatal at least once just for the sake of it. Failure is certainly an option but failing to even try is not and she’s not too fond of people who shy away from a challenge. Fear and pain are rarely factors for Tahira and she often seeks out new things to test herself against. I.E the knowledge that she may get bit will not stop her from sticking her hand in the mouth of a sharp toothed fish to retrieve a hook.

Tahira has a habit of butting in when she thinks she sees trouble and with her “Let me help you” can mean “let me do this for you” or “I think you’re doing that wrong.” While lending a hand to your comrades and tribemates can be a good thing sometimes Tahira refuses to acknowledge when her assistance is not required or wanted. She can’t even claim to always mean well because sometimes Tahira meddles simply because she thinks something is wrong the way it is happening and she should of course fix it. She’s not above trying to correct others or nudge them into doing something a certain way if she’s sure she’s in the right. Tahira can sometimes be baited into doing another's work just so it gets done right.

Very much a people person, Tahira tries to get along well with others. She may hold strong opinions on things but she’s reasonably good about allowing others to defend their own stances, though she fully reserves the right to disagree.

In group tasks Tahira tends to take direction from superiors well and throws herself thoroughly into whatever job she’s given making sure her share gets done.
She tries to be fair when given any sort of authority position and in truth is more comfortable not being the one allocating roles, though she will butt in with suggestions. Tahira is much more comfortable in the role of supervisor than she in in the one of all around boss.

Tahira’s not the sort to hold grudges if she feels wronged and she’s not the sort to be passive aggressive about her feelings. She is much more likely to state her grievance up front and then argue or fight until it gets resolved.

In regards to actual socializing Tahira is fairly chatty although she’s prone more to storytelling than gossip and she speaks pretty informally. She favors interacting those who can wield magic regardless of tribe, after that she tends to be biased towards other Alkidike and then members of the wind tribe.

Tahira has an obsessive personality and at times she can cling to things beyond all reasonable need to. Adrenaline is one of these things and as a dangerous double edge to her daring Tahira will sometimes seek out things that bring her newer and stronger feelings of thrill. She’s jumped from the high branches of trees ( well as high as she could reach then) to the forest floor, and off ledges into the sea in her younger years just to feel that surge of sweet, exciting, terror. These days she attempts more practical things that give her the same thrill, like holding her breath underwater till her lungs burn , trying to outrun a Radaku and similar things that make her heart race. Still, Tahira can on occasion put herself in danger by pushing her boundaries to get a taste of adrenaline.

Tahira's obsessiveness is not focused on that alone and can range from long amounts of time researching something to prove herself right , finding the description of a word she only half remembers, to writing and rewriting the same message or tying and untying the same knot until she feels the urge to do it again fade. These aspects of her personality are accompanied by a strong sense of compulsion and it takes a great deal of effort for Tahira to break out of an obsessive state. Time and energy wasted obsessing on things is something that becomes a greater issue as Tahira ages and new responsibilities require greater time management.
.
* With regards to being a hybrid
Tahira doesn't care at all about her mixed parentage, she is still a child of Aisha and in her own mind she is extra special because her parents had to prove she deserved to exist. When confronted about her heritage Tahira points this out and stands firmly on the argument that she would not be here if it was not meant to be. Those who push the issue get the message beaten into them.

Virtues: bold, tries everything once, works well with others.
Flaws: obsessive, meddlesome, somewhat pushy.

Description: Tahira is an interesting mixture of her parents features. Physically she most resembles an alkidike, having their general larger body structure including antenna as well as smaller if still pointed ears. Tahira's skin too is like that of an Alkidike for the most part with regards to coloring and markings however it does bare traits of her wind tribe heritage. On each shoulder are three spiky pink jewel accents forming triangles. Under her collar bone on each side is a small flat oval jewel with a third sitting just above the collar bone in the center forming another triangle. Three small circular gems of decreasing size follow the curves of each hip. Tahira's eyes are a light grey and her hair a very pale gold kept in a braided bun like this

Clothing: Umbra is terrible at this and leaves it completely up to kana
Accessories: Tahira is fond of visiting the seaside so maybe a necklace of seashells and a pearl bracelet or something.
History:
Tahira is the offspring of an Alkidike and wind tribe woman. Her ma as she calls her had been one of the settlement dwelling wind earthlings and gone on a pilgrimage to the top of the tallest mountain in Sauti. Unused to such rigorous climbing and unfamiliar with the hazards of such an endeavor she attempted to go too high too quickly and contracted altitude sickness. She was rescued and nursed back to health by an Alkidike warrior who had been climbing the mountain to prove that she could conquer any part of the vast lands her people had claimed.

Tahira is unsure of the exact details of how her parents fell in love after that as both seems to have a different version of the events that followed. She knows only that it did in fact happen and it is why she is here today.

Tahira's childhood was fairly typical, she took lessons on all manner of subjects, learned to swim and found every way imaginable to get slightly hurt doing something risky but fun. Growing up was all trial and error for Tahira but she finds herself all the wiser for the mistakes she has made.

Though her family was mostly settled in Jauhar, on occasion she was able to visit her kin in Sauti as well and has good relations with them. She is primarily a child of the rainforest though and most of her memories and experiences have taken place there amongst her fellow Alkidike and the nearby shifters.

While she considers herself more Alkidike than earthling with regards to beliefs and culture Tahira has been perpetually fascinated by magic which is more common amongst earthlings including her ma who was trained in defensive magics. Tahira's sensitive antennae seem uniquely attuned to the presence of magic as opposed to simply sensing life vibrations like most Alkidike.

Tahira knows she wants to travel, explore and protect the lands of Tendaji in the name of Aisha but she wishes to do it not purely through brute force but also with the more elegant ( and thrilling) way of magic. While the path of the sacred heart is open to her it does not feel quiet right as it lacks the early heavily tutelage in magic that she craves. Tahira wants to be as strong and capable as the rest of her sisters, to fight righteously beside them but she cannot commit herself to something that does not feel right. At the same time she is hesitant to follow one of the earthling's magic paths as it would mean seeking training outside her tribe and their weapons seem weak if their magic fails.

For someone so eager to plunge headfirst into life Tahira is at a crossroads with no idea which path to take.

* Just a base background, will be filled out better if I ever get her as history often ends up in solos

Random plots and plans.

Crazy cat lady: Tahira is going to end up with a whole host of critters to care for, since for reasons she doesn't understand they seem to like her. Attempts to train them as battle companions will have varying success rates depending on the species ( lol spitorog). * Obviously none of them will be used in official battles since we can't stat them and whatnot.

Pilgrimage: at some point, in honour of her parents Tahira will attempt to climb Sauti's tallest mountain.

water/sailing: With permission it'd be nice to do some stuff with Tahira related to the ocean.

Just a few, short questions for you~

You say that failure, to her, is an option. How does she cope with these moments of failure? Does she simply shrug it off and move on, does she feel embittered at all, or have a need to try again in the hopes of succeeding; how hard-headed can she be?

Tahira takes directions well from leaders, but also has a clearly defined need to fix things if she thinks they aren’t correct. What would happen if she were to disagree with a leader’s decision?

She seems incredibly well thought out and I’m sure excited to hear your responses! =D

It really depends on the task at hand and what Tahira is trying to prove. She might try and wrestle a beast or weird bug a couples of times just to prove you could could take them down with no weapons, by the fourth failure though Tahira gets ready to give up rather than risk doing serious injury to herself. In moments like these she gets a bit sulky while coping with the fact that not only was she wrong but she was wrong a lot.

Situations where it's less about proving an idea and just seeing if she physically can do something are tried multiple times depending on their risk factor and how the first attempt panned out. I.E Tahira tried only once to see if she could mind over matter herself past the effects of menzuri poison, the result was predictably really bad and she's not going to do it again but she can at least say she tried. On the other hand she's tried to swim the gap between the chibale islands and Jauhar multiple times.

In the case of being certain that a leader is wrong Tahira turns into one of those terrible people that plays authority figures against each other. She'd seek out another elder or someone else of equal rank and explain to them why they have to tell x that they're wrong. Mind you this is in a sort of everyday situation thing, if it was an emergency and she was sure only she had the right answer she'd be speaking up and trying to take control or at least convince her leader that she knew what needed to be done.

Naturally she would respond pretty poorly to being told the leaders are where they are for a reason and their word is law but what would happen from there is really situational.
