The one thing he knew for sure they wouldn't be working on this morning was Capi... Capta... Ca..... @(&#@ING unpronounceable Chuck Norris Dancing.

He didn't know the first thing about Chuck Norris Dancing, other than that he couldn't pronounce it, and that he wasn't sure he wanted to try. If there was in fact such thing as spraining your tongue, that was how it would happen. Trying to pronounce ********/> Nope, this morning was jogging. There wasn't anything seriously complicated about jogging, and he was assuming that being... 'recruited' hadn't scrambled her head so much that putting one foot in front of another was a monumental effort... and Jogging was... healthy. So... Jogging.

He was in civilian form, arms crossed and trying not to look too awkward, though being a 26 year old waiting for a nineteen year old kind of came with a big slice of awkward pie and a dob of whipped embarrassment topping, he just hoped the gossip channels kept it to a minimum. Much as it was frustrating he did like his fall teaching job.

Jeans weren't typical jogging attire, but he was wearing them anyway, as well as a pair of running shoes that looked to be held together by electrical tape, oil, and hope, and topped off the classy, high brow ensamble with an "Born to Ride" shirt that had lost the arms some time six or seven years ago, and likewise been heavily faded in the wash until it was no longer black but a soft dark gray and cracked white print.

When he was mostly sure that he had actually identified her approaching, he raised a hand slightly in greeting, waiting another few steps or so before adding.

"Ready to go for a jog?"

.....Which he was, incidentally, entirely sure everyone else in the park heard as "I am up to no good, please call the police on me for being a creeper."

Naomi was still feeling very...fresh. She felt like she was still screwing her head back on properly, with so many things happening that she didn't really have control over. It was intimidating, being suddenly thrust into such a limelight with no clue over what to say, do or think. She was leaning heavily on Chase at the moment, and had been somewhat reluctant to separate for this outing. However, she was sure he had his own stuff to do, and she didn't want to get in the way - besides, at least she knew she was meeting someone who would understand why she was a little fragile, and making friends on the same side had to be a good thing?

When the subject of jogging had been broached, originally it had seemed like a good idea. Then it had come to this morning and she'd realized that she most definitely didn't have the clothing for it. Naomi was still rebuilding a wardrobe, with a considerable amount of help from others due to her current unemployment status, and at the moment it was woefully low on working out gear. Still, she'd managed to rustle up something, and so turned up at the park in some tattered grey trainers, a black pair of leggings and a tight t-shirt that was just about long enough to cover her bum. She clutched a bottle of water in one hand, and re-adjusted a pin holding her hair back before surveying the park, suddenly very aware that she hadn't been given a description of...Falco, was it? Lieutenant Realgar of the Negaverse.

Turning back, she spotted a blonde approaching her, and was initially confused given his clothing - jeans weren't exactly exercise-wear. But then he spoke up, and she assumed it must have been the boy she was looking for (well, man). "Falco?" she confirmed, not wanting to end up being kidnapped by a stranger. "I...uh, yeah, I guess so."

She wasn't really sure what to say, so remained quiet, obviously nervous as she fiddled with her water bottle and her own fingers.

"You heard right, It's Falco." He offered, initially assuming she was confused about the name. He'd only heard people try and correct it about a thousand times, and some of the variants (Fabio... Falcon... and one petulant old soul who was adamant his name was actually 'Frank'.) "I'd go by the middle name but that's even worse."

She seemed nervous, which was understandable. He didn't know what it was like, having your memories shaken-rattled-and-rolled like that. There'd been disorientation after his accident, years back, but he'd recovered from that. From what he understood this was a bit more... wide spread... and she wouldn't get her old life back.

Accident, that was kind of maybe the best way to treat it. Like her pre-recruitment was an accident, and she was still fragile. You could put the pieces back together but you wouldn't have the same vase. Or person. He knew how that felt, and hoped that some shred of sympathy showed in the smile he tried to awkwardly offer up.

"We can just walk if you'd rather." He added, suddenly realizing he wasn't sure how badly she was beaten up in the crash they'd pulled on the meeting. He hadn't fought her, might have glimpsed her briefly, but he hadn't gone toe to toe with her. Might be just as well. Be awkward to go for a run with someone you'd been hauling around by the hair and punching.

Right, well at least she had the right person. That was a good start.

He made a joke, presumably to make her more comfortable, and so Naomi did her best to acknowledge it with a small, shy smile. The offer of gentler exercise was declined with a shake of the head, and a somewhat more solid stretching of the lips. "No, I'd like to jog if that's okay? I could do with stretching my muscles."

She'd been roughed up pretty bad in the fight, with a few impressive bruises to show for it. Nothing had been quite as bad as the horrible, horrible pain though. It was a distant memory, almost like a dream where it wasn't her. But she knew it had been horrible, and had left a hanging ache deep inside her chest. When powered up there was the massive hole that made that pretty damn obvious, but right now...it was just there. No-one could see it, but she could feel it. Naomi gave a slight shiver, before forcing a more confident smile onto her face. "Did you want to go anywhere in particular?"

Besides, she was assuming it would be a fairly gentle jog - she quite wanted to chat while they ran, get to know her fellow officer.

"I usually just do laps around the park most days. It's easier to keep track of how many times I've gone around, and I don't get tempted to swing into the pizza shop or the nearest coffee shack." Which he had to admit could be pretty tempting at the best of times, especially when he was in a hurry to get to work, and the cats had eaten but he hadn't. A three dollar slab of pumpkin bread really was outrageously over priced, but sometimes it was the difference between being a food zombie or not.

"We can head out and stop at the ice cream parlor if you want." He offered. "Grab a cone, walk back to cool down." Normally on a day off like this he'd have been running until his muscles and joints were screaming, but he couldn't do that to someone else. Especially not someone who was still fragile. She'd have to figure out her own path.

"You're not lactose intolerant or anything?"

He didn't know jack about her, he taught boys, was recruited by one of them... she was as big a mystery to him as she was to herself.

Laps around the park seemed a good idea, and she even managed a wider, more genuine smile as he mentioned temptation. She wasn't particularly jogging on order to keep fit, so it was less of a worry for the blonde, but she could see the logic behind it. If anything, she should probably be eating more at the moment, but her appetite had all but disappeared since her...what to call it? Awakening? Re-awakening? Naomi wasn't sure, so passed over the subject, sighing softly. She didn't want to become malnourished, so right then made a decision that she was going to stuff her face until her stomach was on the brink of bursting when she got home.

And maybe a latte. A caramel latte sounded pretty good right now.

Ice cream? They served coffee there, right? Ooo, maybe she could even get some coffee ice cream! Naomi smiled, nodding with a bit more purpose. "Sure, that sounds like a good idea." Lactose intolerance? She shook her head, eyes a little wide - truth was she wasn't sure. She wasn't sure about any of these things anymore, it felt like her brain had been scrambled.

Inwardly she scolded herself. C'mon Naomi, you can do this. She could do this - this was her life now, and she was damn lucky to have it, so she had to start making the most of it. "No, I'm not - are you talking about that super cool place a couple of blocks down that makes ice cream in like...every flavour?"

"Yeah that's the one. I always forget the name." He admitted. Pizza shops tended to stick more in his brain, being a personal vice, but today he could go for a sundae. Apparently victories brought out his inner ten year old. "It's been a while since I stopped in, but today seems like a good day for it."

And maybe a little bit he was trying to be nice since she'd had her whole world turned on it's head. Not that he'd admit it, her being Senshi and all, but damn it, they were pretty much kids.

Tucking a stray hair back behind her ear again, Naomi tried another smile, trying to muster some enthusiasm. She was grateful to Falco for making this effort, but in all honesty she was still very much overwhelmed by everything that had happened over the past couple of weeks. She looked to the sky briefly, shielding her eyes from the sun, and her smile grew a little wider. Definitely sundae weather.

"Shall we go for a quick jog first? To earn it?" she suggested, glancing around the park. A couple of laps was all she could muster to be honest, especially now she had the mental image of a big ice cream sundae with chocolate sauce and sprinkles.

"A couple laps." He agreed. It was getting hot and it would be just as easy to take a more punishing run later. It would probably be frowned on to give the new recruits sun stroke. "Not more than two, and you tell me if you need to stop. Don't need you keeling over on me, or making yourself sick."

They would never have the power in human form that they did powered up, but they couldn't do so casually, much as he might have wished to. Senshi would have descended on them on the spot.

It didn't hurt to train regularly though, and it was hard to believe that it would do nothing at all.

She smiled, please that he agreed with her suggestion. "Two sounds plenty," she responded, eyeing the park perimeter once again. Yes, two laps would have her breathing heavily, but not exhausted, and definitely ready for ice cream. His concern was sweet, though Naomi was determined not to go and make an utter fool of herself by doing such things. Geez, how pathetic would he think she was if she couldn't even manage two laps?

The blonde waited a little nervously, not sure if he would take the lead or if she was expected to. After a few awkward moments Naomi took a few steps forwards, breaking into a very casual, laid-back jog, waiting for him to follow before she picked up the pace a little. Her cheeks were pink, the blonde somewhat embarrassed, though she wasn't entirely sure what by.

Falco fell into stride easily, his comfortable pace even in the wrong clothes indicative that he did this relatively frequently, and probably for a lot more than two rounds. If anything he seemed maybe a little held back, as if he was tempted to pull out all the stops and try and lap her a few times... which... to be totally honest, he kind of was.

Even when he was supposed to be teaching it was a little hard not to show off, to be competitive just for the sake of competing.

He knew it was stupid, but there it was.

"So..." He added, timing his words between steps. It would make them both a little more breathless, but he wasn't sure how much she knew or didn't know. "What's your favorite flavor?"

Whilst she was determined not to look like a fool, she was still embarrassed when he easily kept up - it was apparent he was pretty fit, he probably did this a lot. So, in a way, she was probably making a fool of herself anyway by being so pathetic. Upping the pace to the higher limit of her being comfortable, Naomi made sure to keep her breathing steady, swinging her arms as her legs moved beneath her.

He surprised her when he spoke, Naomi had figured he was quite into this so wouldn't want to talk in case it made him breathless. But then again, perhaps he was so good that this was equal to a casual stroll by the lake for her. Not wanting to seem pathetic, she took a few more breaths between replying. "Mint choc chip." A few more strides. "But right now I'm craving something coffee-y."

"Sounds good." He may have been alright with conversation, but apparently he wasn't that chatty, or at least had decided to be conservative with his words. He looked thoughtful as they ran on for a while, passing other joggers and walkers, and people playing frisbee and the like before he added. "Haven't decided yet what I'd like. Maybe a shake."

...Or maybe a brownie sundae. Just good old fashioned vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and hot fudge on one of their brownies. The ones that were the size of a saucer.

There was something about that idea that felt sort of highly undignified though, and he wasn't entirely sure why. Zinkenite had sat down and had pizza with everyone after the battle, ice cream was just another form of food-bonding.

...Oh, okay. No chatting then. Turning her attention forwards, Naomi watched where she was going instead, not wanting to fall over in a spectacular fashion by catching her foot on a tree root. That would just top everything off, really. Allowing her mind to wander, she watched a couple having a picnic in the lovely midday sun, feeding each other grapes in a grossly over-exaggerated gesture. She smiled softly, and her heart swelled a little. She was always the hopeless romantic.

A shake? He spoke up again and Naomi looked to him, giving a nod to acknowledge that she'd heard him. Nah, if you were going to have ice cream you might as well have it properly, not mixed up with milk and other rubbish. You ate ice cream with a spoon, not a straw!

As they started the second lap, Naomi was beginning to breath a little harder, and she could feel the sweat on her forehead. "Do you exercise a lot, Falco?" He didn't seem bothered at all, as if he were merely on a casual afternoon stroll.

Something about the question touched on a nerve, though it was hard to say exactly what had tripped the split second flash of something raw that flashed across his face. It hadn't even been direct, his thoughts racing down a chain of events that had put him in this habit to begin with.

"I do these days." He answered, when he'd composed himself again. "...Had an accident." Another pause before he continued. "Needed to exercise for rehab, stayed in the habit."

Another lengthy pause, and he looked as though he were trying to choke down the unpleasant thoughts that apparently came hand in hand with this token piece of information.

"You're doing pretty good yourself." He offered, and even smiled a bit, though it might seem a bit hollow in the wake of that curious expression a few moments ago, in spite of having meant the praise.
