I really did it this time... the mare muttered to herself in disdain. Her steps weren't light or as fluid as they usually were, but held a limp as she dragged herself into the safety of the forest. She'd picked a fight with a kalona.. a few of them. Once she had been able to handle at least one, but... these were fierce... She'd escaped just barely... but wore heavy gashes along her flank. They were deep, and oozing blood, making her vision blur slightly, and breath slightly ragged with labor.
Eyes sat heavily, body dragging as she stumbled past some tree's and bushes, legs finally giving out to cause her to collapse. Panting, her neck craned to lick at the deep wounds, growling in her throat with frustration. She was too tired to work on them... but they were so annoyingly uncomfortable! At least those bloody winged things wouldn't find her here. She was small and able to hide under all the brush around her; even though the stench of her blood laid heavy in the air... As the mare worked tiredly at the injury's, the wear and tear, and exhaustion of the long battle finally caught up to her... causing her eyes to heavily close into unconsciousness.

Roaming; To move about without purpose or plan; wander. That was the life Perth was leading at the moment. Fight. Nothing. Wander more. Nothing. There was just nothing accomplished...just roaming. Yet he wasn't disappointed with what he was doing. Then again he felt nothing about the whole situation. Something was missing from the big brutes life, a spark, something new.
Shrugging along in the dark, Perth made his way through the forrest. When suddenly the dark stallion's body froze, his thick musceles stiffened as he listened. Rustling, shouting, running...the was some sort or scrap happening near by. Not uncommon, but just as he was about to carry on he smelt it... the thick scent of blood starting to fill the air. The brawl seemed to be a bit a ways, but with how heavy the smell was there was no doubt the loser of fight was near by. Out of the corner of his eye he watched as the small body practically limped into the cover of the brushes. A moment passed as he let it all sink in. Ordinarily he's just leave the weaker horse there to die, but that couldn't of been a horse... It was too tiny, right? Curiosity had him stepping closer to the bush before his nose took over again; picking up the scent of blood... and a little mare that he had come to know.
"Vitaliya?" He said in a low clear tone, as he leaned over just to make sure and as he thought his eye did not deceive him. Even in the dark you could see the sheen of blood seeping from her wounds.

Just a small rest... that's all she needed. To close her eyes and... yeah. Just... a little rest. Falling into a heavy slumber, the throbbing of her injuries continued, but being in a sedated state, she couldn't feel them any longer. Her breath shallowed out, chest rising and falling just barely. Her muscles burned from exerting themselves to the max, body twitching from time to time as adrenaline continued to leave her blood stream.
The forest was quieting, asides from the few nocturnal creatures that were starting their own agenda... however... there was the rustling and heavy steps of hooves. It yanked Vitaliya from her sleep, pale eye wincing as it opened. If it was those dang kalona again... she didn't have enough strength to fend them off. Body tensing in hopes of at least hoisting herself up if it were, she winced harder, hissing in agony as her wounds pulled. Dizziness crept up on her again too..
Looks like this is it..
But... the voice that split the silence brought a sense of semi-relief. It was a rare familiar voice... sighing softly, she took in a sharp inhale though, the pain all coming to her at once now that she was awake. Even though the voice was of the one soquili she knew, she wasn't entirely pleased to hear it... he was, after all, her rival. But not in a negative connotation... They were evenly matched, and she would never want him to see her like this. Groaning softly, she snorted firmly, trying to release some of the pain rushing through her, "Hey, big shot.." she muttered weakly. A forced smirk twitched at the corner of her lips, "Come to finish me off, then..?" this was the second time he'd see her in a weakened state... she hated it.

‘Come to finish me off, then…’
His tiny equestrian ears swiveled as she spoke; her words ringing in his head. Why would she assume that of him? He had never cause her harm before. He didn’t even have to look at her to hear the pain and weakness that had a hold of her. “Maybe another time Vita…” How was he to harm something in such a weakened state? And the one mare he would consider an equal?
Perth huffed as he pulled his head up from the bush, listening for water. “I’m getting water for your wounds.” The stallion’s voice was low and calming as he trotted away. Thankfully there was running water nearby, a small creek. He heard the stomping of a few others there, but Perth tried to keep focus. He scrounged about near the bed of the creek, finding a nice piece of wrapped bark. This would carry a fair amount of water in it, for Vitaliya.
‘Ha. What did she think she was going to accomplish be taking you on?’ ‘Probably had a death wish…’
He heard as the stallion’s hoots and laughter as they carried on about some sort of scrap that just happened. Again his body tensed. Something like fire burned through his veins as the hair stood up along his spine. They did this; A trio of kalona again one little mare.
Breathing heavily he focused on the task at hand again. Pick up the bowl. Fill with water. Take to Vita. It was as simple as that.
As he did these small tasks his mind continued to think this through. She was the one who started it anyway; an instigator. It’s not always easy to back up your talk… especially when there is three of them... and are kalona.” His body began to shake again. What was causing him to fall further and further in to this rage. Why couldn’t he just return to Vita?
Perth had now been standing there with the bowl of water for a little while, lost in thought. Things from his past nipping at him once again, correlating too strongly for his taste. He needed to go now. Turning around, he abruptly found himself hitting in to this wall, causing his bowl to be knocked from his teeth… Now he may be crazy, but there wasn’t a wall there earlier. Eyes to the ground, he watched as a strange hoof crushed the piece bark. A small snort escaped his nostrils as he closed his eyes, returning his head up to his full up right position. (Oshit. It’s about to go down.) The stallion before him, meet up perfectly to him perfectly, eye to eye. It was dark, but Perth was no fool. Nothing but contempt and destruction, seething from this stallion, no different from the kalona whose head rested upon his shoulder now.
‘Hey there buddy, where ya off to?’ He presented this coy, sleazy sentence with an even more crooked smile. You could practically see the bugs squirming around his teeth… Perth had two options right now and one was would get him back to the severely hurt mare-friend of his… and he other one, which was the winner, was going to taste all too sweet.
Raising his front legs off the ground, he came down hard; head-butting the kalona in front of him. The three must of usually not met with so much resistant as they froze, but Perth continued. Biting. Hoof-stomping. Kicking. Yet again they teamed up to be three on one, but after ignoring the majority of their weaker attacks to focus on the leader. It became one on one when the others high-tailed out of there realizing this was actually going to be to the death. Heavy panting disturbed the peaceful nighttime setting, as both parties had taken a fair amount of damage. Charging at each other again, Perth managed to knock the other stallion off balance. And that was it. He completely lost himself as he stomped on the opposing force’s neck, over and over and over again. He looked down at his blood covered hoofs and the horse who was now his victim.
“s**t…” He whispered to himself. Vita was still alone, in the dark and bleeding to death. Slowly he stepped back from the body and looked for a new piece of bark to carry water back. The task seemed such much simpler with out the cackle of ignorant kalona around him. As he left the creek he tried to map it out there area, he would need to come back soon to claim the head of another kalona.
It seemed he was gone for sometime now, the sun would be up in an hour or so… He was disappointed in himself and hoped that Vita’s strength held through. Setting the water down, he lowered his body to the ground, lying down for the first time since who knows when. “I’m sure your bleeding has stopped, but I have water to clean your wounds anyway…” The stallion’s voice was ragged and tired. It was clear that neither of them could stay out of trouble…

Admittingly, Vitaliya was surprised by Perth's reaction to her state. He didn't show malice, or... aggression of any kind at the pathetic sight of her. Confusion swirled in her mind, but it was already overworked from her earlier quarrel... thus she was hardly able to think clearly at all. His words went in and out, some registering, some a bit muffled. Snorting softly again, she just let her head remain laid on the ground, eyes closing slowly.
She'd dozed off again, only coming to when the stallion took to her side once more. Day was slowly approaching, taking its sweet time. Eyes fluttering open, the mare groaned softly, her wounds no longer bleeding, but blood streams stained her pale coat, and she was hungry and thirsty. Her gaze was blurry, causing her to blink a few times and clear it, and gaze lazily up at Perth. Why.. did he sound and look so ragged? Blood was heavy on him.. Watching him awhile, she spoke softly, "What... happened to you...?" had he gone and done something? Water didn't seem that exhausting to get. Shifting a little, her neck lifted her head, a wince showing on her face from the movement, head hanging as she tried to gain her bearings. Glancing to the water, she murmured softly, reluctantly, with a grunt, "Thanks..."

He looked off shrugging her question. Oh you know, just off killing the kalona you were having problems with. Whatever… He decided it was best to forget for now. There were more pressing matters at hand getting cleaned up, making sure her wounds were healing, food. His stomach growled at the thought of food, but he would figure it out later.
Perth picked up the bowl, slowly letting the water run over her gashes. The blood that had already dried and matted to her fur did not come off easily, but it did manage to take off the thick of it. The murky blood stain water, running off down hill. The stallion wondered if there was much more he could even do for her, as he was not normally the one to aid the injured. He could of chuckled to himself thinking about where he was an hour ago to now.

She watched him... to her best ability, studying his demeanor. He was acting... rather lax... Though he seemed like a generally laid-back individual to begin with. Still. It was odd for her to mingle with others for long periods of time, especially in such a low level tone.
As the water poured on her, she stifled a flinch, the cooling effect a shock to her hypersensitive state, and skin. It was able to trickle through some of her fur, touching the tender skin, making her hide twitch in reaction. It did feel nice though... and it gave the blood some leeway to loosen up. Watching the water do its thing, she let her eyes slowly return to the stallion, just watching him again. She was quiet for a good long while before speaking again, "Never knew you were such a nice guy.." she muttered teasingly, smirking faintly. Turning her head, she began licking at her scars again, with the help of the water, able to get some more blood off. She was used to the taste of it by now, so it didn't bother her much. Able to clean a few in her reach, she looked back at Perth, noting a few scrapes on him as well, "Go hunting while I was knocked out?" she asked again with a playful tone. "Or maybe some squirrels got mad at you on the way to get water." She couldn't help it... he'd seen her so weak.. she had to get some of her pride back.

Perth dropped the bark bowl next to him as he watched her clean up some of the wounds herself. To him is seemed like a good idea he started to go over his own wounds. His thick tongue working over the still fresh gashes near his shoulders, though the pain seemed like nothing now. His body was sure to be feeling it ‘in the morning’ one might say. But alas hear was the sun now, creeping through the trees and shining a little light on two.
“Your words hurt me Vita. It was more than a few squirrels.” He chuckled to himself. This is how she was always going to be… Show no weakness and if you show even a little, belittle your ‘rival’. But the words ‘nice guy’ stuck out to him? Could he really consider himself that? No. He was not normal nice, but then again it wasn’t everyday he went on a killing spree. He was just there most of the time. He huffed to himself. More like an empty shell who is trying to avoid his past, but yet cannot put it behind him. “I’m not such a nice guy… I don’t really do anything.” He shrugged a bit, giving another light laugh.

She watched him curiously, observing his wounds further, and his demeanor. It wasn't often that he and her spent time together, more so in such a... pathetic state. It was at least a bit relieving to see he was a little worse for the wear too. Not as much as her, but... it was good enough to not make her feel at a total disadvantage.
Smirking at his remark, she flicked her little ears and tail. Alright.. this being injured thing wasn't... her thing at all. She was ready to go.. though her body probably wasn't. It complained as she tried to shift, causing the little mare ti inhale sharply as pain coursed through her small figure. Cursing under her breath, she glanced back at the stallion, snorting lightly, "Nice enough.. not to kill me like this.." slowly, her legs started to move, shaking terribly, but managing to push her small figure up onto cloven hooves. Panting softly from the uncomfortable work of just standing, Vitaliya looked to her companion, eyeing him almost wearily... why had he helped her...? now wasn't the time for questions. A front leg gave out on her, making her stumble some, and fall to her knees, "Oughta find a ... lake or somethin'... to lay in..." she breathed heavily. "Clean... the wounds I can't reach.."

He huffed, as to oppose, when she tried to stand up. Watching her stuggle was not something he enjoyed… As he watched her buckle beneath the pain, Perth jumped up to her side. Managing to shift himself under her neck, helping her back to her hooves and practically prop her up. Nodding his head as she mentioned the lake. The creek had to run down into some kind of bodied water; hopefully it was big enough for her to rest in. “I think that’s for the best, since your completely restless.” The stallion sighed shaking her head at her. “I was just by the creek it has to run somewhere…” He said quietly, while slowly starting to lead Vitaliya; knowing this would just burn her insides. She was the leader after all!

She was shocked to feel the large stallion save her from totally collapsing, ears perking, before pinning back. Great... he was saving her twice now, it seemed. Grumbling in her throat, Vitaliya let her legs gather again, stabilizing herself. This day was just full of embarrassment and shame.. snorting with displeasure, she eyed the stallion... wondering just what his angle was... helping her like this... not finishing her off when he had the chance... what was going on here? Just staring at him for awhile, she reluctantly followed his guidance, "Course I'm restless... I don't particularly like being in this kind of situation..." she grumbled sourly. Sighing again, she tried to calm down, seeing as it only aggravated her more when she got riled up.
With Perth's help, they made it to the lake. It was rather large, and definitely deep. Lifting herself off of him, she stumbled her way towards the water, unceremoniously lowering into the liquid to a level that almost covered her entire body. It rippled out from her small figure, a sigh of content slipping past her lips as the water cooled her burning injuries. It felt good~
