"But here's mah numberrrr~ So call meh maaayyyyybeeeee!!"
She sang loudly, with her head held high, as she semi-skipped down the sidewalk. Her paycheck was in her purse and for the first time in a long time Genevieve felt like she had zero responsibility. Her one obligation was to get that check deposited and spend some money.
Smiling away as she continued to sing, she lost herself in thoughts of shoes and sun dresses.

Kess couldn't help but notice as Genevieve belted out the song of her people, dark eyes catching on the sass in the girl's strut. Grinning from where she lounged in a chair on the outdoor patio of one of her favorite Brazilian cafes, the blonde whistled to catch the younger girl's attention.
Pushing out the chair across from her with a booted foot, she lifted her chin in greeting. "Hey, there." Pushing dark shades up into her pale hair, the freckled girl took a long drink from her mimosa, brows raised. "Having a good day?"
As far as Kess could recall, Genevieve was fun. It'd been nice to see her again during the battle. If you could call that nice, anyway.

The whistle broke her out of her song, and immediately she found the source. It was impossible to not recognize the woman that was lounging under the awning of a cafe Genevieve only knew of in passing. Nodding in return, the gesture bouncier than Kess' had been, she danced her way to the chair before dumping herself into it ungracefully and dropping her purse to the ground at her feet. "You know it! Got payed," she explained. "It's even better now!" She waggled her eyebrows at the older girl and laughed. It was weird for her to think that the last time they'd seen each other they were beating the crap out of someone, but it was nice to see Kess under normal circumstances. Eyes dropping to the drink in the blonde's hand, Genevieve realized her throat was parched. "Ugh, that's the worst. I never realize I'm thirsty until something cool and refreshing is staring me in the face." She really needed to order something. "Be back in a sec!" She jumped up, grabbed her purse, and dashed inside. The thought of waiting for someone to come by and placing an order at the table never even crossed her mind. No more than a few minutes later she was back, throwing herself into the chair in exactly the same manner she had previously. Now all she had to do was wait for one of the adorable wait staff to bring her drink out to her.

"Gotta get that paper," She agreed, amused at Genevieve's open excitement.
Kess wasn't one of those people that was polite enough to wait for you to get your food before she ate hers. She might give you a bite, of course, but there was no hesitation. Likewise, she was more than content to continue taking swallows of guava-laced champagne.
When the younger girl returned, and her drink had arrived, the blonde shot the waitress a friendly grin, before turning her attention back to her new companion. "I was hoping I'd end up with a lunch buddy. Stick around awhile?"

Her drink having arrived, some fruity strawberry thing, Genevieve gulped down a portion of it with wild abandon. "It's been nice having cash of my own," she finally agreed.
Genevieve had originally meant to go buy new shoes; with said money from the bank, but a quick glance at Kess and she figured what the hell. She was hungry anyway, so it wasn't like she was one of those girls that agreed to lunch just to sit with the coolest girl ever.
She wasn't. Really.
"Yeah," she answered brightly. "That would be great!"

Sitting up, the blonde leaned forward to peer at her menu, occasionally glancing up to flick her dark gaze over Genevieve. "New to the work force, then? That's cool. What do you do?"
When the waitress returned, Kess handed the menu to the waitress, asking her to "Surprise me," and free her to return to a more thorough contemplation of her former co-star.
"How long has it been since we kissed?" It was hard to keep track of time when you were so busy. That play had been months ago. Had it been winter, or spring? It'd been ages since she'd see this cute little thing. Well, ages since they'd been off-duty, that was. Kess was a professional!

"Oh I'm not new to it," she waved a hand like that was silly. "For awhile I was helping my parents pay bills." Downing another gulp of her drink, she shrugged. "I bake cupcakes at Sweet Reprieve Bakery."
Feeling the blonde's eyes on her made her cheeks turn a slight pink but she willed herself not to let the color spread across her face. Instead scanning her own menu; but at the kissing comment her entire face turned a shade similar to hot pink. Ignoring the heat in her face like the actress she was when they'd first met, Genevieve responded with a flick of the eyebrows and a pleasant smile. "I can't seem to recall," she answered sweetly. "I have some ideas of how soon we should change that, however."
With a bounce of her head and a flick of her wrist, she handed her own menu to the waitress. "Same for me." Her voice was bubbly as she indicated she wanted to be surprised as well.
