The little deer was doing some fancy foot work of her own. Only for her, it wasn't in joy or play. Without thinking, she had walked out into a clearing after some rather tasty looking flowers in a clump of grass in the middle when a leopard jumped down from a nearby tree in front of her. Terrified for good reason of all large predators, the Klipspringer instantly turned the other way out of pure instinct, even before the shock of the feline's appearance had disappeared. In her experience, no appearance of an adult, large predator meant anything good. Sometimes she was wrong. For today, she had been right.
Darting sideways to try and shake the leopard from her tail, Danya sped towards a large group of bushes for cover. Thanks to her fancy footwork, she managed to get away, catching her breath under one while the leopard circled for a way inside. After what felt like hours, it finally gave up and left her, the adrenaline still raging inside her. Once she saw the feline was far away, the turned in the opposite direction and continued running to put as much distance between her and it. Completely by mistake, she came into the path of the Jackal. With a squeak, she darted in the same direction the canine was running, thinking someone else was looking at her for a snack. Though for a Jackal, she would be a full on meal.
