Artist Street Rules & Regulations
Hello, everyone. I am Yuusha Asagi. I'm going to be putting up some rules that you should follow while using this subforum. I hope I never have to enforce these, but it never hurts to have them around. The topics will be as follows:
General Rules
Rules that you should just always follow.
Posting Guidelines
Rules for what you should and shouldn't post.
Miscellaneous Guidelines
Things that don't really fall under either category, but I feel should be said.

General Rules
Behave Yourself Obviously, one should always adhere to the Terms of Service and Gaia's Rules and Guidelines. That generally means not being a jerk. There are nuances, but if you just stick to the "not being a jerk" ideal, there shouldn't really be much of an issue. You probably should read them anyway, though, as a rule of thumb, as it's KIND OF important to know what can and can't get you banned from the site entirely. Not that I expect anyone to do that kind of thing.
Stay On Track This isn't really a rule as much as an advisory. This is an ART forum, and it's for art. It's really not recommended that you get too far off-topic. I know from personal experience that this can isolate more timid people, as they won't feel like they should be asking for art when you're in the middle of this huge conversation. That's not to say you should only post for requests, thanks, and the art itself, but try to stay on-topic! Thank you.

Posting Guidelines
What can you post? According to the Gaia Rules and Guidelines, "Mature Material", "Harmful Images", and "Copyright Violations" are not permitted. The same goes for here, as this is still Gaia. For those of you too lazy to read the officially-worded descriptions, I'll write them out in common terms.
Mature Material Don't post pornography or excessive violence/gore. It also says "Tasteful nudity in the art forums is allowed on a case-by-case basis...", but that's entirely subjective, and I'll leave that up to your discretion, for the most part.
Harmful Images Don't post anything that could cause a headache, seizure, or other such physical ailment. That's about it. Things that are just plain bizarre or confusing are okay, though. Just bizarre. (or confusing)
Copyright Violation Really? Do I REALLY need to explain this one? Fine. If something's copyrighted, don't try to sell it. Unless you have the express permission of the original creator/copyright holder. Plagiarism is a big no-no too. If it's not yours, credit the creator!

Miscellaneous Guidelines
About Art Prices While some art threads (like mine!) may hand out art for free, not all of them will. Generally, it's not uncommon to see people selling their art. If the artist doesn't make it entirely clear in the first post, try checking other posts first, to see if anyone else has tried before you. If it's a new thread, try asking the artist yourself. A little knowledge can go a long way.
About Free Art Free art, or freebies, are just that. Art that people give out for free. While this may go without saying (see earlier, "not being a jerk"), it's very poor form to complain about art you receive if you it was free. After all, if you were following the old "you get what you pay for" saying, you'd be getting nothing at all! So be courteous to those who go out of their way to do things for you.
