The local animal rescue home was holding a bake sale. Arian had seen a flyer for the event and had figured that he could set a couple of hours aside to make some up contributions to the event. He’d settled on brownies and chocolate cookies – both sweet treats relatively quick to make, but at the last minute had decided to make up a batch of strawberry vanilla cupcakes, each cake carefully frosted with berry frosting and decorated with little flags that he’d made up himself.
Not wanting to try walking down to the rescue home while trying to balance a series of plastic containers, Arian has instead settled for placing said containers into a cardboard box instead. Okay so he still had to keep the box relatively level, but it had to be easier than trying to port the six plastic containers containing his contribution.

There was a boy with a cardboard box. Well, boy or girl - that was some really long hair, Aggie couldn't help but noticing. It was pretty hair, though! More important than hair, though; this was an excellent opportunity to make a new friend! He (until proven female) seemed to be taking a lot of care with the box, and, well, maybe there was something she could do to help? It was a promising scenario, surely! With that in mind, Aggie walked up beside beside the boy, pigtails swinging merrily and a bright if not slightly wobbly smile in place. "H-Hi! Do you, um, need any help with that?" Did that sound like someone who'd take the box and run? She hoped not - she'd really put her best friendlyness in that sentence. Maybe a bit too much friendlyness, on second thought. That could be just as bad as sounding apathetic, she remembered from an earlier encounter. Oh gods, what if he thought she was a total creep now??

Arian’s mind had been mostly caught up in making sure to keep the box steady, so a voice suddenly speaking up from beside him took the dark-haired teen by surprise. “Ack!” Arian had jumped slightly at the voice and the movement had caused the contents inside the box to shift and the dark-haired teen winced slightly as he remembered the cupcakes and hoped that the frosted creations were okay. Then again it had only been a little jump, so hopefully the frosting was still on the top of the cakes instead of say the container lid. There was therefore a slightly flustered expression on his face when he turned in the direction of the voice, but his voice was friendly as he spoke to the red-haired woman “Good morning.” At least Arian hoped it was still morning, although he was pretty sure it had still been morning when he left the apartment. He smiled slightly ruefully “Sorry I didn't see you” he glanced briefly down at the box before adding “My mind was slightly elsewhere.” Hopefully he hadn't done something like knock her with the box!

Aggie winced as he jumped and accidentally jostled the cardboard box. Okay, maybe she should've announced her presence a bit more before speaking - like, walked into his line of sight so he knew she was there? It was too late now, but there was a worried look on her face and she was wringing her hands as she spoke. "I'm s-so, so sorry! Are you alright? I-is the box alright?" She glanced nervously at the box, hoping profusely that its contents were fine despite what had happened. "No, don't be sorry! It was entirely, um, my fault so don't worry at all--" her voice was surprisingly fervent despite the timid look on her face. He had nothing to apologize for, nothing at all! It'd been her fault and she should've thought things through before approaching him in such a careless manner. She nervously hoped he wasn't too mad at her - but he didn't seem mad, did he? Unless he was hiding it. He could totally be hiding it. Aggie went a shade paler at the thought and turned doleful eyes on him. "Really, I'm so sorry. I t-totally didn't think."

Arian nodded “I’m fine, thank you for asking.” The woman’s flustered apologies made him feel a little awkward – the volume of apologetic words kind of out of proportion to what to the dark-haired teen was an accident – especially as it wasn’t the woman’s fault that he hadn’t been more focused on his surroundings. His voice was slightly rueful as he admitted “Actually it’s probably partly my fault too,” before adding “But I think the stuff in the box will be okay.” Although there was a chance that the cupcake frosting had ended up decorating the container lid, Arian figured that the brownies and cookies were probably okay. “It’s kind of destined for the bake sale today down at the animal rescue home.”

"Oh, I'm g-glad." Her smile was blinding in its relief. She hadn't ruined his stuff! "There's a bake sale going on?" She blinked. "How did I not know this?! T-that's fantastic!" A bake sale! Baked goods! Cake! Aggie was so there. And it was for a good cause too, so what more could you want out of a bake sale? "Mind if I, um, follow you there?" She wasn't actually quite sure where the animal rescue was at. Shut up, it'd been a long time since she'd been in DC OK! She was only just learning the ropes of the city again, and since she'd had no business at the shelter, she just hadn't bothered to learn where it was. But if there was a bake sale going on... That was definitely a good reason to go pay a visit. And he didn't seem like a total loss on the Possible Friend-list. This was an opportunity that could still be redeemed!

Arian had stayed quiet as the woman’s question about not knowing that there was a bake sale on figuring that it wasn’t being directed at him, at least he hoped it wasn’t being directed at him – he didn’t want her to think he was being rude. He shook his head at her question about following him down to the bake sale “No I don’t mind at all. It’s the rescue home near the vets down by some of the shops near the park that’s holding the sale.” The people at the rescue home would probably be delighted that not only was he bringing baked goods, but had also managed to find someone who might be a potential buyer – after all every little helped. “I’m Arian by the way, Arian Laith.” If the woman was truly happy to follow him down to the rescue home then the dark-haired teen reckoned that introductions were probably in order. Actually they had been speaking long enough that by now the introductions were probably overdue.

"Ohhh." Aggie made a sound of understanding. So that's where it was! She was still familiar enough with the landmarks of DC that she could follow his explanation. "I'm Aggie. Aggie Thorsen." She'd have held out a hand in proper introduction fashion, but honestly, it probably wouldn't be such a great idea with him holding the cardboard box. She settled for a little awkward wave instead. "Nice to meet you. Do you, um, work at the rescue home or something? Or w-were you just nice and baked something for them?"

“It’s nice to meet you too Aggie,” Arian smiled ruefully before adding “Normally, I’d offer to shake your hand,” a brief glance down at the box “But my hands are kind of full today.” He shook his head at Aggie’s question about working for the rescue home “Ah no I don’t work at the rescue home, the bake sale is kind of a monthly thing” thinking about it he added “My cousin’s apartment always has the makings for cakes and stuff and quite a few charities have bake sales, so about once a month or so we pick one to donate stuff for.” He smiled “I notice that quite a lot of people donate baked goods for this particular one.” Arian had indulged himself by buying some of the treats on offer in the past. “Some of the things on offer in the past have been really, really good.”

"No worries, I, um, understand." She sent a smile his way. "That sounds r-really kind of you! So your cousin helped you b-bake this stuff?" She sent a thoughtful gaze at the box. It looked quite a bit more intriguing now that she knew what was in it. "I can imagine, some people are just amazing at b-baking." And now she was really looking forward to seeing what would be on offer this time!

“No I made the stuff in the box this time round” Arian admitted before moving to change the subject, his ability to bake not particularly something he liked talking about. “So are you from around Destiny City Aggie?” The red-haired woman’s voice had a bit of an accent and although the dark-haired teen wasn’t sure where it came from he didn’t think it was an American accent.

"Wow, that's awesome!" Aggie was about to move into elaborate praises for his baking (which she hadn't even tried yet, but nevermind that) when he changed the subject. Okay, that was quick. She was left blinking for a few seconds before answering his question. "Oh, well, not really. M-my parents lived outside of the, um, city, in one of the smaller towns around? B-but they're both from Denmark, s-so we always spoke in Danish." She'd always had a bit of an accent when speaking English, despite growing up in America. It didn't help that both her parents spoke British English - so much confusion when she was younger. She thought for a moment. "And, uh, I just came back f-from two years in Denmark. T-the accent might be a bit strong at the moment." She sent a grin his way.

“Denmark?” it seem Arian's assumption had been right. "That means you’re from Europe” Arian smiled back at Aggie before adding. “I'm from Europe too, I only moved to Destiny City a year ago” he thought about it then added “Well slightly more than a year ago now. I grew up in the UK.” He smiled again “I admit to not really knowing much about Denmark apart from the fact that it’s near Sweden and that the Vikings originated from Denmark. I thought that their boats looked pretty neat” At least that’s way his classes at school had portrayed it, he'd still been in primary school at the time though, albeit in his final year before the changeover to secondary school.

"Oh hey, that's cool! A-another European!" Her grin was fantastic in its brightness. "I've never been to the UK, but it sounds awesome. Maybe on a holiday one day or something." She laughed shyly, shaking her head a little. "That's OK, not a lot of people know Denmark. Um, there's not really much to know, in my opinion, but yeah, we did have vikings! And their boats had really great designs, for sure." She nodded, in total agreement. "They also made some p-pretty cool looking jewelry, actually, much more detailed than you'd think people could do at that time. Or, well, that I'd think people could do at that time."

Arian nodded in response to Aggie's comment about there being not much to know about Denmark "I kind of feel that way about the UK, but that's probably because I lived there up until last year." Despite the relatively slow progress, it was hard to walk fast when carrying such a large box after all, the dark-haired teen could see the general store that was a couple of streets away from the road that would lead direct towards the animal rescue home. He looked interested at the mention that the Vikings made jewellery, his voice curious as he asked "What sort of jewellery?" He hadn't known that the vikings did that, then again the few classes he remembered having on it had kind of focused on the boat aspect. Ephebe sorry so slow tagging back
