Lounging around the Amityville grounds was starting to become a bit of a habit for her. Honestly, she found there were few things as relaxing as laying back on the grass and staring up at the murky sky. Maybe she was getting lazy - two weeks ago she'd definitely have insisted that this was wasting good time meant for studying, but lately she'd been taking a more, well, relaxed approach to said studying. It wasn't that she'd stopped, oh no, but she was well on the way to catching up, at least somewhat, in all her classes, so she figured she'd earned the occasional break. Or two. Maybe three, if things were going really well.

She'd brought a blanket and two fruttens with her this time, and both of the minipets and she were just lazing around, comfortable and warm and just the slightest bit drowsy.

Glasere Uller had forgone the jacket today and was left in his thin, tunic like shirt. His hair was loose about him and flowed behind him as he walked in a lazy pace. Things were getting busy for him. Or were going to with the classes and field trips he'd signed up for. What better way to meet new creatures and attempt to make a friend or two?

Today, however, was reserved for lounging about in the grass and probably taking a nap. Sure, he liked his bedroom, but he missed the feeling of grass under him from time to time. He had brought his own minis with him as well. His Arctic BBwolf named Blizzard and his little Sunekosuri named Snow. He thought to bring the Quizzle Tahki and he had caught, but thought better of it. It could still be wild and try to run off. The poor thing wasn't healed yet, either. Uller did not want the blue minipet out and about until he was sure that it would be able to handle itself better. Maybe he should let Blizzard teach it a few things about a fight.

Rubbing his face with his hand, he blinked when Blizzard caught the sent of something and yanked him that direction. Grunting hard, he followed his wolf until he saw another student with her two fruttens. Of course.

Blizzard let out a bark and then a whine, wanting to go play with the minis. Snow, however, had no interst in them. Instead, she looked up to Uller and mewed a few times before the Stag picked her up. "Blizzard, enough," he said to his wolf, frowning.

Fruiten - the worst named frutten in the world - and Teras had started squeaking a few moments before the BBwolf and its entourage had arrived, so Leo had had enough time to sit up at least. Laying down was not the best way to meet new people (or avoid getting trampled on), she'd learned.

The fruttens went mad, chirping and jumping all over the place. Fruiten jumped over to the boil and his minis, sniffing them and managing to squeak all the while. Teras held back, hiding slightly behind Leo. Despite having lived with her for a while now, it wasn't often they were exposed to new people.

"Oh, it's okay, no worries." She smiled at the boil, patting the blanket. "They don't get out often enough so I'm sure they'd love to meet some other minis."

Luckily he didn't know the names of the minis, or a snarky comment would be placed. Uller was kind of a snarky stag when he had the chance, which was all the time. Watching the two Fruttens jump about was certainly amusing.

Blizzard had stopped his barking upon command and was now sitting there, watching the minis and wanting to play. He wished his boil would let him! He loved playing with Fruttens! Whimpering, he edged closer and pawed at one, wings fluttering behind him.

"Can I sit with you on the blanket?" He asked, not sure if that pat was for him or for her own minis. Sitting on the grass wasn't appealing, so he thought he'd at least ask. "I'm Glasere Uller. I've just arrived a few days ago." He tilted his head to the side and let his ears flick back and forth at all the sounds that were happening around him. Looking to the side as something caught his attention, he saw another student running past, probably late for a class or something before his attention snapped back on this woman.

What year was she? How could he tell?

Fruiten the frutten managed to chirp even louder as the BBwolf pawed at it. Someone to play with! The little minipet immediately started doing loop-de-loops from sheer enthusiasm around the legs of the larger Blizzard.

"Sure, feel free." As nice as grass was, sitting in it tended to land you plenty of bugs - wanted or not. "Leo, and welcome to Amityville."

She cocked her head to one side as they watched another student run past in rather a hurry. "Did you actually want to enroll here or did your parents force you or something?" Her tone was curious. "I mean, I know Amityville doesn't always have the best reputation, with some of the things that go on."

Blizzard whimpered and then squirmed when Fruiten started to play with him. He jumped about and let his tail flick this way and that, nipping playfully at him.

Uller let them play for now and sighed, shifting to sit down on the blanket for her. Suppressing a yawn, he looked at Leo and gave a little grin at her name. Easy to remember. Nice and short. Her question made him stop and arch a brow, just sort of staring at her. That was kind of a personal question for him. Thinking it over, the Stag shrugged and looked at the ghoul again.

"....A little of both. But that's all you need to know," he said, hoping to leave at that. Sighing heavily, he watched the minis for a moment and then looked back to Leo. "Honestly, I haven't heard much of the schools reputation. I just know that they can help an Arctic monster control their temperature and any other powers that comes to them."

The little frutten immediately went for the tail, jumping up and down and managing to get its little paws on the tail at least once. There was a celebratory squeak before Fruiten went back to running around in front of Blizzard, avoiding the playful nips and chirping loudly. Really, you had to have a special kind of patience to put up with the chirping.

"Fair enough." She smiled tentatively at him, aware that she seemed to have stepped on some sort of landmine. "So you're an Arctic monster?" Hopefully that was a less dangerous question. "I'm a Mare, and a monster as well. Monster power for the win?" She grinned conspiratorily at Uller.

Blizzard made some whimpering noises at the other mini and then grinned when he managed to pin the thing with a paw. It wasn't a crushing weight or anything, just enough to get it to stay still before giving it a lick and then let it back up to continue playing. The chirrping only made him whimper and yip at the little mini in glee. He loved playing!

Snow, however, seemed like she wanted nothing to do with them. Instead, she curled up close to her owner and went promptly to sleep.

For the win? Was that something new? His brows furrowed at the phrase before shrugging. It seemed to be a positive thing. This ghoul was odd. No landmine was stepped on, Uller just kept things very private. "A Mare, hm? I haven't seen one about in a while. I wouldn't have guessed, honestly. I notice a lot of Monsters about compared to Reapers and Undead. It's quite surprising, honestly. I figured they would be plentiful here. Yet, here we thrive." Those odd black eyes focused head of him as he heaved a little sigh.

"Arctic monster, yes. I've only met two others and we seemed to click in a way, sharing the fact that we don't have to be too careful around each other. I've noticed a few tend to avoid us. I'm guessing it's because of a temperature thing. Perhaps their fire based Demons. I'm not quite sure." He didn't usually go up to random Monsters and Demons to ask what they were.

"Oh, I've only met a few Mares as well. My family's mixed, y'know, taking in random scarelings that manifest and such." She thought about what he'd said for a second. "Yeah, I guess there are a lot of us here. Most of my friends are Undead for some reason, though. Funny, that." She shrugged. "We are pretty plentiful as a species, though."

She felt a bit sorry for him when he put it like that, but she quickly stowed the feeling away. People didn't usually like pity, she'd found, and there wasn't really anything she could do to help him. Maybe introduce to some nice, non-judgemental people? It was something to keep in mind.
"That sounds kinda stupid." She might have managed to keep the pity away, but there was still a frown on her face. "Of them, I mean, not you. It's not like a drop in temperature is gonna kill anyone - unless it's really drastic, and if that was the case, I doubt the teachers would have let you into school in the first place. Some boils and ghouls are just silly."

"Stupid as it may be, it happens frequently. You sort of just brush it off as stupidity or ignorance, though. I won't say anything negative towards them, personally." He shrugged a little more and sighed, stretching out a little more before looking to the minis that were seeming noisy still. Oh well. He scratched Snow's head and back as she slept and listened to the Mare again. "I don't drop it for everyone, just the air around me so I am comfortable. The hot weather makes me feel slightly sick, so I tend to drop the temperature around me quite drastically. But if it makes anyone uncomfortable all they have to do is tell me and I'll stop for a bit and let it warm back up. Or move." It wasn't like he was going to hold too much of a personal grudge about it.

He knew, after all, not everyone liked the cold. Shrugging, he laid down flat, arms under his head and looked up at the sky. "It's nice to find someone that actually doesn't mind it, though." He closed his eyes after a moment and then looked back towards Leo. "If you could introduce me to the non-judgmental group, it'd be well appreciated. I've only met a handful of ghouls and boils here, so I would like to continue meeting those which I may one day call friend."

Fruiten had started attempting to climb Blizzard, enthusiastically stopping every so often to clean a few strands of the BBwolf's fur. It liked making friends OK, and this was a very big friend! Surely such a big friend would need a bit of help grooming.

"That's pretty levelheaded of you. I'm not sure I could be so nice to them, in your situation." It was kind of impressive, really. He was obviously a good more rational in the face of adversity than she was - something she could only admire him for. Teras peeked out from behind Leo, eyes on the sleeping Snow. This one was much less intimidating than the big one, and so the little green/blue frutten snuck closer to the other minipet. Would it mind being woken up?

"Oh, sure! I'll do my best. My friends are pretty non-judgmental, I'd say - let's see, there's Alex, he's a zombie, his boilfriend Yin who's a monster like us, Mei, she's undead too, Amrita's also undead..." She thought it over for a second. "That'd be pretty perfect actually, wouldn't it? Most undeads don't seem to mind the cold that much." Or maybe that was just a silly species prejudice, she wasn't actually quite sure.

The grooming was appreciated and Blizzard finally laid down, watching the smaller mini with what could be a smile on it's face. He usually ended up grooming Snow, who got hissy and wandered off, but grooming was a good way of getting to know another, right? So, why deny the fruiten this? He leaned over and managed to lick the thing over before starting to groom it carefully.

Snow, however, heard the movement and peeked her head up before yawning lazily. This mini pet was lay and not as hyper and in your face as her companion pet. She made a small sound towards the other fruiten and then laid her head back down.

"I figure why bother clashing with someone you probably won't encounter on a daily basis? If I got mad at everyone who had issues with the cold, I'd probably be left with only Arctic friends. While Arctic monsters and demons and what not have their perks, I can't learn how to control my temperature about me, can I?" He asked, arching both brows. It was nothing to be admired about. He just knew why he was here.

"I've encountered Yin once, on a field trip. He seemed to take to me alright because of Frost," he said, thinking it over. He wouldn't mind talking to the boil, honestly. He'd never seen a weremantis before, so he had a few questions. He never knew how much of a knowledge seeker he was until he got here.

"True." She hummed lightly, relaxed. She hadn't even thought to look at it like that, but that did make rather a lot of sense. Teras moved to sit between Leo and Uller, still examining the pretty white minipet. So pretty! So pale! But it seemed to be content where it was, and Teras was not as rambunctious as Fruiten (who was currently enjoying being groomed by the larger BBwolf), so it settled back down again to watch Snow from afar.

Leo perked up when he mentioned that he'd already met Yin. "Yin is awesome! He's the best fighter I know, really. You should see him, he's lightning fast." She nodded along to her own words. "Seriously, he's deadly. He taught me how to punch and kick properly. He's very nice, a bit formal, but a really good person."

Saint Sergio
PostPosted: Thu Aug 16, 2012 9:19 am

"I wouldn't have guessed, honestly. Yin being a fighter, that is. He seems level headed for that. Formal, yes, but I have no qualms with him," other than saying his whole name all the time, but the boil was obviously raised very different than Uller. "However, I can't say I'm entirely surprised by him being lightening fast. Often the quiet ones are the ones you have to watch out for. Or so the saying goes." Now Uller was tempted into asking Yin to show him some fighting moves the next time he saw the boil. Uller, himself, couldn't fight. Not very well, anyway. His skills lay in running and hitting the target over the head with his hoof.

Looking to the minis, Uller smirked. Obviously Snow didn't mind the Fruiten, which was a surprise, honestly. Snow was his more picky of his minis.

"Classes here go by fairly quick, do they not?" He was inquiring since he had signed up for a couple more. He didn't know what to expect, honestly.

"Yeah, they go by pretty fast." She nodded. "You've gotta be careful to pay attention or you'll miss the whole thing pretty quickly. Took me a while to learn that." She stretched lazily before lowering her arms to absentmindedly pet Teras. "Have you signed up for any yet?" She'd missed a couple of interesting sounding classes lately herself, but things had been busy. Now that she was putting some effort into trying to get better at fighting plus gathering FEAR for the Lost Clan, well, she just didn't have the time that she used to. Hopefully this wouldn't reflect too badly on her grades.
