The trip through the portal from the Lair had been quick, just like every other portal Mei had gone through. As if stepping through a sheet of paper. When her feet touched the cold, hard ground of the Human world she was disorientated at first. This was her first time ever in the Human world. At least, the none Hunter part of the human world.

It was warm though a tinge of coldness snapped in the air as a breeze blew against her face. Rustling the fabric of her clothes. Whipping strands of her now mostly white hair that still had a bit of that familiar dark brown on the ends. The purple fragment embedded in the choker around her throat seemed to pulse. Vibrating with anticipation of what was to come. It clawed at the back of her mind hungrily. Ravenous and beastly. It scared her sometimes.

Not too far off she spotted the small little town. It was quiet and almost still. A drastic difference from the bustling Halloween town. Even Amityville was not this quiet. Dark eyes soon landed upon what seemed to be a funeral procession. It was a small group of humans, but humans none the less.

Her fragment panted, clawed and screamed at her to take them all now. But she couldn't be hasty. She couldn't bring too much attention to her. She was still not strong enough to take on so many. But she needed to sate this hunger for revenge. She needed satisfaction.

Turning back to the portal, she waited patiently for her friend to follow behind her.

Flashing a reassuring smile to her friend, she took the other ghoul's hands in her own for a moment. Ignoring her fragment's protests to waiting any longer. Giving them a light squeeze. "It'll be alright Leo, we can do this." Another squeeze of the Mare's hands. "These humans could someday become Hunters. And we don't need anymore Hunters do we?"

Releasing her hands, Mei turned back to the group of humans. Eyes narrowing just slightly as her attention singled one out. "I will go first if you want." She glanced at Leo out of the corner of her eye. The ghoul was so unsure and in all honesty so was Mei. She had never killed a human before....really she had never really killed anything before that wasn't a big bad monster her and others were forced to fight just to survive.

This was different. And a part of her relished it.

She was glad her friend agreed. At least these ones that they killed here and now would have no chance in joining the Hunters. Ever.

"Yes." Mei's voice was barely a whisper, the voice chewing at her ear, urging her forward. "Follow me when you are ready." The Jiang Shi was no real leader, but she needed to make sure that Leo felt safe and comfortable before all else. Even if what was buzzing around in her head disagreed.

Without another word she slipped away from the Mare, quietly moving through the shadows. Her feet barely making a sound as she bounded along a group of trees. The human she had selected first was a young woman with long brown hair and skin as white as snow. Her eyes were rimmed with red from crying. A sharp wail cut the air as Mei jumped out at her, aiming for punch to the woman's sternum. Catching her off guard the human stumbled back away from Mei's hand to land on her butt on the ground.

Frustrating. The first move was her's and because of this human's poor balance she had missed.

She was glad when Leo soon appeared. At least she couldn't have to take the human on alone. Mei just, really wasn't much of a fighter. If her next attempt at an attack was any proof. She had gone to sweep the woman off her feet with her leg but barely missed as the human moved forward and then stomped on her foot.

The human has spunk for sure.

How irritating this human was. "It was to be expected that some knew how to fight a little bit." Mei's fragment screamed, more more. Kill it kill it kill it! It was hungry. It wanted this human so bad.

Clenching her eyes shut, the ghoul's brow furrowed as she tried to drown it out. Before snapping her eyes open and lunging at the human foot first to drive her forward and into the ground. Smashing the back of the female's head with the heel of her boot a couple times for good measure.

She could feel how near death the woman was and she was elated. "Lets end it now Leo so we can move on to the next."

As she stepped off of the dying woman, Mei brushed her clothes off and straightened out her sleeves. Her fragment pulsing with anticipation of what was to come at the end of all this. If it were a dog it would be drooling.

"You can pick the next one if you would like, Leo." She smiled. Perhaps now the other ghoul wasn't quite so hesitant. Besides, letting the Mare pick a human would possibly make her feel like she was doing more than just fighting humans. Being able to make these decisions was a crucial part of existence anyhow.

Having bent down to make sure the female was still slightly breathing, Mei stood up again. Her gaze falling upon the elderly man that Leo had pointed out. She wasn't sure if he would wield a good amount of fear, but humans tended to surprise you more often than not. If this female that lay at her feet was of any proof.

"Sounds good. Go for it." With a nod of her head she gave Leo a thumbs up. Letting her take the lead for this one.
