 Calisto had decided that he needed to go for a walk. Things hadn't been the same since his hybrid sanctuary had been departed. It was hard to see how life was outside of the place. He got made fun of a lot, bullied by others... He just wished everyone could get along. He flicked his tail and moved about. Sometimes, creatures mistook him for a lion, until they'd see his tail. He tried to hide it a few times, and did pass for being a lion. It was probably the better parts of being out on his own.
Today, he decided to wonder through some tall grass. Hoping he wouldn't run into some lion or cheetah hunting. The last thing he needed was someone attacking him instead of something more eatable. Not that he liked the idea in general. He only ate things when he was really hungry. He hated killing things. Not that he was good hunter anyways, his bright pink fur made it rather difficult as it was.

 Kaless awoke in the tall grass she had nested in the night before after a long night of finding somewhere safe, for she was a timid creature, and was always afraid of being alone. She wanted to find another waterbuck, perhaps a male, not as a mate, as she clearly wasn't ready to have one yet, just a travelling companion, to make her feel just a little less lonely, for being a bright yellow color did not help her blend into her surroundings, making her very easy to spot for predators.
She took a quick peek around her, and headed off to the small pond she fancied her own private water hole, as she was very shy, and kept to herself most of the time. On her way to her pond, she stopped and grazed on the grass that covered the plains, for of course she was very hungry. She then sniffed the air cautiosly, and smelt the cool fresh waters close by, and continued on the trek, still stoping for small snacks here and there.

Something yellow had caught Calisto's eyes, though at first he just thought it was part of the tall Savannah grass. Though, something told him in the back of his head that the color wasn't exactly right. It was, after all, very bright. It had been good for a second, but he took a second glance, and he had noticed something... Something he had never seen before, at least not alive. He had seen a few that other creatures had eaten at.
He wasn't sure what it was, and curiosity popped up in him. He wasn't shy at all, and a grin crossed his face as he moved towards it. "Hello!" he said cheerful. He hoped he didn't startle the poor creature. He also hoped that it would know better and if he had been hunting it, he wouldn't have calmly walked up to it to greet. Then again, he couldn't imagine being hunted. Unless bullying was a type of hunting... He didn't know, nor did he ask the thing he had just found...

Kaless popped her head up and her eyes widened at the sight she saw. a bright pink lion approached her...no, it wasn't a lion it was something else she had never seen before, ad she new it couldn't have been hunting her, or else, she would be running away, unless this was the creatures way of hunting, befriending the prey, and she new she was a target from the first time she walked. It had greeted her, and it didn't seem to be any danger, it looked to kind to kill an animal like her. "Hello" she said warily, as she slowly walked towards it, sniffing the air around it, just to be extra safe.
It looked curious, about what she was, like he had never seen a waterbuck before, and maybe he hadn't, but he must have seen one before, he must have eaten one of her kind before, she was sure of it. This creature looked hungry, and was probably about to ask her where he could find some food for himself. She had reached the pond by now, and she walked up to it and started to lap the clean, cold water calmly but cautiosly, as she wasnt sure if this was to be a friend, or another predator.

He went on smiling, without really noticing her nervousness. He hadn't even thought about food all day, so seeing her didn't spike any more consideration. All he saw, was someone to talk to and enjoy the moment with. Though, he was curious on what it was. He wasn't even sure what gender it was. He felt horrible about it, but it wasn't like he had seen a live one before. No one could talk to the dead, at least he didn't think so. "I'm Calisto." he said.
"A lovely day, no?" He walked by her and started to lap up some water from the pond water. It wasn't the best, but it was good enough for where they were. He looked back at her, he was relaxed, and made no motion that would even suggest he'd attack her. "Not exactly the best water, aye?"

"Im Kaless'Jua, but you can call me Kaless." She replied, her nervousness fading and she was starting to let her guard down. "er, no its not, but when it rains, its alright." she comment, he was social, and she could be, if she chose to be. she didn't feel like talking much until he started a conversation, when she started, they always ended sour. she peered arund again for any sing of a lion or cheetah stalking her, but she saw nothing, nor heard nothing. she wasn't too worried, but she just had to ask "did anyone follow you?" she asked anxiously, ready to run if need be
She lapped more water. She never noticed the taste, she just liked being here by the pond on her own, her kind depended on water much more then other species, so it was good she found this place. It was fairly safe as well, but she might need to find a new place to nest, as she was not so sure with this other creature around. she gracefully walked toward the water plants on the other side of the pond, and nibbled on those as she waited for his response to her question.

The curiosity of what she was filled his head more and more. He was going to have to ask, but he didn't want to be rude about it. He didn't know how not to be though. He was waiting, waiting until they got a little more friendly with each other. He shrugged at her question. He didn't know why anyone would follow him. He wasn't exactly Mr.popular. "No, I don't think so." He never thought about looking to see if anyone following him.
It was starting to drive him crazy, now... Not knowing what she was, at least now since she had spoken, he knew she was a female. Though... He had run into some girly sounding males.... No, he was sure this was a female. "What are you, if you don't mind me asking?"

Kaless was wrong, he had never seen one of her kind before. "im a waterbuck. what are you? i have never seen one of you before." and it was true, she really hadn't, this male looked kind, but not very strong, but may very well be a good travelling companion. he looked like a weight on her shoulders, but it was better then nobody. He was full of energy, but she thought for sure he was picked on. he must have been, or else, she would be dead, and if nobody had followed him, he must not be very popular, and he looked like one of the outcasts on the search for a meal and clean water.
"are you an outcast?" she blurted, she had tried to hold the curios questions, but they always slipped out of her She went on driking the water, and looked out onto the horizon, then looking up to see what time of day it was. it was mid-morning, and she had lots of dayight left to find somewhere else safe to stay for the night. she picked up some grass in her mouth and chewed slowly as she watched him and peeked around to see for dangerous hunters.

He was glad she didn't see offended by his question. He let out a sigh, and smiled. "I'm a cross between a leopard and a lion." He told her with a nod. "I'm a Leopon, as some call it." He gave a half smile at that. He wasn't proud of what he was, not with the way everyone in the rouge lands normally treated him. Many had tried to kill him, yet he was faster than he they were.
Calisto wasn't sure what an outcast was, but he was sure it was true. He shrugged at the question. "I don't know" He said. He'd never heard the actual term before, but something told him it wasn't something good. Or maybe it just depended on who said it? He gave another shrug. "I am just me, and that is all I know. Other's don't like the way I look, or what I am because I'm different." He said with a nod. "I think they just can't accept some things, and I am one of them."

Kaless was relieved that he didnt go away at her blurting. she walked near him and sat down. "would you like to travel with me for a while?" she hoped he would say yes, but really wasnt sure, it would be an odd companionship, and she would automatically think she needed to take care of him. She knew he was old enough to hunt for himself, he was no llonger a cub, and he had probably been alone for a long time, so he must have some survival skills, or Kaless would be walking cautiosly through the desert plains right now, looking for another abandoned water hole, with no predators nearby. "i have been alone for a long time, hoping to find another waterbuck." she said with a sad sigh.
Kaless wanted to find another waterbuck, maybe she would find a whole herd of them, but instead she found this...Leopon. He was an oddity, that was for sure, but she enjoyed the company nontheless, and continued to nibble on grass for the time being as the day passed by slowly in the hot sun.

He wasn't sure what she was getting at first. He never been asked to go anywhere before. "What do you mean?" he asked her. There was walking around, there was going on a journey with someone, and then there was just staying with someone for a few days. He smiled down at her for a moment, even though she wasn't THAT much shorter than he was. "I'm sure you'll find one soon. I mean.. I heard there was a pride that had some prey-type creatures in it." he didn't know what else to call them... They were eaten by other creatures... so they were prey. "I'm not sure where it is, but I hear there's a god that protects them."
It sounded nice, though he doubt he could go anywhere close to there. He could only hope to point her in the right direction. "Maybe we could find some other creatures that know a bit more about that place?"

"i just mean helping me find safe places to sleep, and that pride sounds nice, being lonely hasn't helped in anyway" Replies Kaless as she started to enjoy this males company. She never thought about religion, she was too preoccupied in making sure she was safe, and since she didnt have any 'prey' friends, she thought she might suggest somewhere quick to hunt. "i saw some rabbits go in the direction left, back to a den they have, we could had that way if you like. you could look for game as well." she said in a pleasant, helpful tone.
"i think we would find someone to ask on our way as well" she added, hoping not to sound like she was a big talker, as she wasn't, she just got out what she wanted to say in as many words as possible, it wasn't one of her traits, talking to other creatures, she much prefferred a simple nod or small talk, but it was nice talking to a Hunter. this Leopon was excellent company.

"Oh.. I'm not hungry, thanks" He said with a smile. Perhaps she missed what he was saying? He didn't know. He flopped down next to the pond and thought for a moment. Maybe it wasn't too bad if he became friends with her. It wasn't like he'd get hungry enough to eat her, right? No.. He knew her name, and... and... She was almost as big as he was. He wasn't that good at taking things down. He shook the thought out of his head, but couldn't help but think that she put that thought in his head.
"I use to live in a sanctuary for creatures like me, and similar to me." He started. "Some place where those of us that weren't accepted would gather and enjoy life, and be protected" He tried to explain it to this waterbuck "That's sorta what I was trying to say for you. They have a sanctuary that's protected by someone so your kind, and similar kinds that get fed on by lions, leopards, cheetahs, even half breeds like me, to where you guys can live in harmony and not live in fear." He sad with a smile. "it sounds wonderful, being in a place like that. Since I came from a place similar to that." He added.
"But who knows if it's true." He said with a sigh. "I heard it from a pair of birds, and some birds like to trick creatures like me." He said. "Not that it was something that I needed to know, but birds have many things to say, and sometimes just need someone to hear it. Even if it's not the right someone." He looked at the waterbuck with a small smile, his paw in the water splashing. "maybe I was told for a reason, to tell you."

"a sanctuary? wow, but, your right, who knows if its true...birds told me they saw a waterbuck to be friends with just a little ways from where i was and it was a distracted lion instead...i was very fustrated." she said with a sigh. he didn't seem like he wanted to go, just because he couldn't. she felt sad for him, he couldn't find anyone and when he found her, they really couldn't be friends. Kaless then had an idea. "well, what if we tried to find they place you speak of, an the we can ask them if they know of a place for you to stay?" she thought it was a great idea, for she liked it very much, and smiled lightly at him.
She watched his paw splash around in the water, the different ripples it made, she was entranced by it for a moment, then went back to thinking. she as tired of thinking, the sun was too hot, and she was already getting sleepy, she couldn't sleep now though,she was too anxious on awaiting his answer.

He laughed, she had spirit, he had to give her that. "There are places that already accept half-breeds, I just don't know where they are." He knew there must be some places that accepted them. As well, he knew there were tons of them out there. He had been in a place that was full of them. Where had they all gone?
He'd find where ever he needed to go sooner or later, he had no thought for himself. He was just trying to suggest something to her. She was talking it all wrong though. He wondered if it was just she was thinking of safety for him, and he her? He gave a shrug. "I could help you find a place, but I don't think I could walk you there the whole way. " He nodded. "But I'm not the best of company, I mean... I get attacked."
