Well, I have my first banner made. It's not the best (the colouring's off on the images because this is my first time making an animated gif and apparantly I have no idea what I'm doing sweatdrop ) but I still like it.
This one is for display purposes only (once I get a bit more practice at it I'll make banners for actual use). I just wanted to see what you guys thought of the layout.
It will be five bishoujo (any at all) plus the message at the end.
Remember, this is just a prototype. It's not to be used.

Stupid bloody banner maker program... stressed
I save jpgs as gifs and they look fine when I preview them. But then when I punch them into the banner maker and save it, the colours suddenly become distorted like my example in the first post! gonk
Does anyone happen to know a decent animated gif program? Because I'm becoming increasingly fed up with mine.
(This is why I haven't had a decent banner to show yet. I want them to look really good first, but my program just won't let that happen).
Maybe I should make banners like the City of Parte has? I could do those as jpgs easily, and avoid the whole colour-distortion problem I'm having.
What do you guys think?

I use Microsoft Gif animator. But if you're using paint to convert pictures to .gif, then don't. That screws up the pictures a lot. I use Photodeluxe instead. (And I'm assuming that Paintshop would work well, too.)

Well, I was using Paintshop to convert them to .gif, then resizing them in Paint, since I'm still getting used to Paintshop and decided it would be easier to resize them that way.
I'll try resizing the .jpgs in Paint and then saving them in the .gif format in Paintshop and seeing if that works. Thanks. biggrin

Hrm. I would like to help, if I could. I wish I had the knowledge to create these.
But sadly, I have little money [in real life] and rarely rich in GAIA.

I got the gif animator as a free download, and the photodeluxe came with something else. A really crappy digital camera that hardly worked, I think.

I love those! Number 18 is certainly the best of them all!
