His cousin’s suddenly discovered overprotective streak had curtailed Arian’s ability to indulge in night-time wanderings as Athene. Given that getting caught sneaking back into the apartment late at night would have ended up leading to questions that the dark-haired teen wouldn’t have been able to answer with any satisfaction, Arian had reluctantly for the most part mostly spent the evenings of the past few days powered down.
That is until an unexpected break occurred in the form of one of Saffy’s old school friends. Her classmate had wanted his cousin to spend a few ‘girly’ nights with her and although she’d initially been reluctant, Arian had managed to convince his cousin that he would be fine on his own for the few nights she was away and had agreed dutifully to look in on their neighbour Madam Thomas, and if needs be let the older woman know if he needed anything.
Polaris’ message had arrived at a fortuitous time – his cousin’s trip away had coincided with the period of time during the full moon – it had been late afternoon when the dark-haired senshi had seen it though, too early to do more than message Polaris back to say that he’d love to come along.
He’d spent what was left of the afternoon as Arian at the library, had ended up somehow back at the Greek mythology section. Given that he had time to spare, he’d figured he see if he could find out some more information about Athene and had ended up flicking through a few of the books. There was no Gwen this time around, although after a good while of flicking through books that seemed to yield as little information as the last time he’d attempted to look into the name behind his senshi name, Arian was starting to wonder if it was less finding the right book and more that what little information he’d managed to glean on Athene was simply all there was.
Then again there was Athene itself, he’d found out at the senshi meeting that he could actually visit the asteroid that his senshi seemed to be named for. Maybe if he actually went to the asteroid that his senshi seemed to be named for he’d find out more information. Except (and it was a big one), except the dark-haired teen wasn’t sure he wanted to go to Athene. Part of him was apprehensive about what he’d find there. Remarque had said that the senshi were behind the destruction of their worlds and although since the senshi meeting the dark-haired teen was loathe to believe the dark mirror senshi’s words (or to believe any chaos serving person to be honest), he was pretty sure he remembered one of the other people at the meeting saying that their worlds were uninhabitable – which potentially led credence to the whole destruction thing (or at least to the dark-haired teen it did).
Although maybe it wouldn’t be so bad if he could find someone willing to go with him – like one of his other team mates. Catching his thoughts, Arian shook his head. Either way it wasn’t going to happen tonight. For a start he wasn’t ready to visit Athene just yet, maybe one day he would be, but until then the dark-haired teen would stick with his upcoming visit to the moon.
