The Vetala paused in front of a certain Demon's door, looking between the number on the wooden surface and the one written on the paper she held. After the rescue she had lost sight of the boil, and once she was certain her own friends were well and safe the knowledge of loose ends started to bother her. What happened to her fellow captives since their rescue? Did any of them come back? Were they okay? Concern shifted to indecisiveness as her focus shifted from unanswered questions to which person to get the answers from first. Of those that remained she knew two of them, so should she go to her friends first, or the strangers she had just met?

In the end she decided checking up on Zar first was the best idea, on the grounds that she knew him the least and he was the one who had been rather eager to be weaponized at the beginning. A lot of what he had said in the cell bothered her, and she wanted to try and make it right, on top of her general concern for his well-being.

That was what brought her to his door, but once she was there she hesitated; she didn't know him. He was friendly enough, but how much of that was disaster-born kindness? Would he even want visitors, even fellow ex-captives? She almost didn't want to leave her room either, let alone see her friends. It crossed her mind to leave, to just turn around and come back another day, perhaps a little later when everything blew over; a brief thought was as far as the idea went.

Raising a backward hand, she rapped on the door with her knuckles. "Zar? It's Amrita, are you in?" She inquired to the door, trying to not sound totally nervous.

Zar as a rule was almost always in his room, at least excluding recent events on the hunter's island. Today was no different and he was seated at his desk when he heard the door being knocked and a muffled voice outside. He paused, pen poised over the paper and inclined his head slightly. A visitor? He never received visitors other than Nuru, and the dog boil had already informed him where he'd be that day. It was quite unprecedented and he found himself oddly anxious as he got up to answer it. What if it was dangerous? But no, he assured himself, danger did not announce itself quite so often.

Opening the door, he recognised his guest immediately - Amrita had been one of the captives he had warmed to, who had showed what seemed like genuine concern for him, who had volunteered herself to be weaponised when he didn't have the guts to do so. It was an odd thing to see one of his fellow captives again after pretending so hard that none of it had ever happened, that everything was back to normal, that he wasn't carrying around whatever the tag was that they had been injected with. But he realised that perhaps denial wasn't the most useful way to go about it.

"Hello" he replied, almost as much as question as a greeting, he'd almost forgotten protocol for answering a door it had been so long. "Erm. Would you like to come in?" he gestured with a hand. The room within was somehow gaudy and opulent while still remaining entirely monochrome colour-wise, much like the boil himself - the most remarkable trait about it was its neatness, everything in its place, everything perfectly aligned. If she opted to come in he pointed out the chaise longue in a brief gesture as a welcome place to have a seat.

Amrita was surprisingly close to running away when she heard someone on the other side of the door. Sure it was a good sign; it meant someone was home and that they were willing to pay some sort of attention to her, but that lingering paranoia still gnawed it's way through her. Granted, from the short time she had with him he really didn't seem the type to answer the door just to yell to go away; he seemed too quiet for that.

"Hi." She replied, trying to sound cheerful but likely failing. She was feeling awkward again; what could you say to someone you only really met right before you were sure death was coming? So, how about that local sports team? Hmm, probably not; Zar didn't quite look like a sports fan. Plus, she didn't know a thing about sports past they exist. Thankfully she didn't have to think too hard on what to say past a greeting, and the nod she gave him was genuinely eager. "Yes, please!" At his gesture she stepped into the room, looking around the meticulously kept living space (which really only led more into that not a sports person thought) and taking a seat on the edge of the chaise lounge as directed.

A constantly barefoot patchwork in a clean room...fantastic. Amrita stared hard at the floor, checking to see if she tracked in any dirt. She was relieved to see none, but at the same time she thought his eyes were likely infinitely better than hers, even without his glasses. "Er...sorry-" She murmured, placing one backward foot on top of the other as if to minimize her contact with the very clean floor.

"Fooor the intrusion!" Amrita finished lamely, offering a smile. "I just...wanted to check up on you, yanno? We kinda went through a lot and...I lost track of you after they saved us. So I, uh, found you." She was rambling a little bit, but she couldn't help it. She also waved the little piece of paper in the air for him to see as if it was proof she had forethought instead of just knocking on doors.

She did that once, it took forever.

Clearing her throat, the Vetala smoothed her backward hands along her legs, worrying out creases in her simple dress. "So! How're you doing?" All things considered was implied, she hoped.

It was strange for Zar having someone in his room, his space who wasn't Nuru. Even despite being the one to invite Amrita in he had to suppress the terrified fluttering of anxiety as she sat down. Don't consider the possible dust being swept into his room, he reminded himself, don't think about the fact that she most likely wasn't a demon. Just focus on being friendly, on being normal, hadn't he promised himself things would be different when he got back from captivity?

For just a moment he blinked as she seemed to anticipate his train of thought, wondering in horror if he'd spoken his thoughts about the dust and dirt aloud. He stared at the floor before quickly looking away again as his imagination covered it with non-existent horrors.

There was something twitchy and almost birdlike about the way he rearranged his glasses, obsessively realigned his tie and straightened out his jacket. This done he turned his attention back to the ghoul, his stare unnervingly intent, blinking only when he remembered it was probably polite to do so. He rummaged through his memory for social niceties and politeness, nodding as he found what seemed appropriate.

"Its no problem I assure you." he said - still not thinking at all about the floor. "I'm most flattered that you would seek me out, I was fairly positive that I would have no further correspondence with my fellow captives. I am hardly a social butterfly after all." For all his scheduling, social interactions came at a low priority and were often set aside in favour of more pressing matters.

His smile was almost sad as he stated "I would often rather write a triplicate report on a social outing than actually partake in one."

He waved a clawed hand as if waving away the haze of that line of thought. "I digress. All in all I must say I have been doing more admirably than I would have expected. The incident brought me considerably closer to the boil I spend time with and I appear to be catching up on the time that I lost during my absence."

Amrita watched him as he fidgeted and fussed with his appearance, still fighting between being concerned that she was the cause of his apparent discomfort and understanding the need to fidget. She often did so, and felt it was almost relaxing to busy her hands with something silly. As for his staring...well, it was only unnerving because it picked and prodded her into feeling self conscious. It was probably the reason she kept looking down at her lap until he remembered to actually blink.

"Well then I'm even more glad I decided to look for you!" She sounded rather sincere about that; she didn't like the idea of being alone after everything they went through, especially since they went through it in a small group. "...Have you met Barth yet? I think you'd give him a heart attack." Writing a report, instead of being social? Yeah, this boil should stay as far away from Barth as possible, but the idea of seeing them in the same room made her chuckle. He might like Christof - if Chris would actually be nice for once - but Barth was a definite no-go. His answer to the rest of her question had her smiling again.

"That's great! I'm sure he's happy you're home again." She clapped her knuckles together, since her backward hands made it awkward to do it any other way. "Hey are you really that against going out somewhere? I thought, if you wouldn't mind, we could go out and do something? Get out of our rooms for a bit?"
