Ice_Dragon_Demon Mairin: *goes after her hat that rolled away* Get back here! II Paradox II Sakura: Yuko, why can't you just settle down with a mare whom you love? Instead of breaking hearts. Yuko: -sighs- Mooom... Ice_Dragon_Demon Mairin: *Chases her hat toward Yuko then trips* Aah! Ow, come back here! *Notices Yuko* Oh I'm sorry I didn't see you there II Paradox II Yuko: snorts and flicks his tail as he looks to Mairin. "Oh, yes. Because I'm that invisible," he sarcastically says. Sakura: "Yuko! I don't be so rude," she snaps at her son before looking to Mairin with a soft smile. "Are you all right dear?" she asks as she looks the mare over for any scratches. Ice_Dragon_Demon Mairin: *Has an innocent thought before addressing Yuko* Invisible? Would you like to be? My mother has taught me all sorts of things *Smiles proudly before looking at Sakura* Oh I'm fine, thank you I just wasn't watching where I was going *grabs her hat and stands up* My Names Mairin It's nice to meet you both. II Paradox II "It was a figure of speech you stupid ninny girl," Yuko mutters under his breath as he looks away from the mare that had tripped before him. Snorting with a flick of his tail he walks a bit away from his Mother and Mairin. "Well I'm glad to see that you're all right as that was quite a tumble you took," Sakura smiles. She bows her head as she introduces herself. "And he's my son," she nods her head to Yuko who seems to pay little to no attention to them. Ice_Dragon_Demon Maririn: I heard that *smiles undaunted* My ears are second to none, *looks back to sakura* He's not anything like you, you're so nice *smiles* then again I'm not really like my mother or brother, or father for that matter, he just needs some cheering up, May I ask your names? *she says before moving toward* you need to smile and be nicer things might go your way then! II Paradox II Sakura blushed as she shifted a bit on her hooves. "Oh I am terribly sorry for not introducing ourselves. I"m Sakura and Yuko is my son," she smiles. A light laughter escapes from her vocals as she looks to Mairin, "and no he's nothing like me. Yuko is his own character," she says. The young stallion lifts his head as he looks to Mairin. "You want me to be nice to someone who's just fallen right before my hooves? Hrm," he snorts with a sarcastic grimace. Ice_Dragon_Demon "Oh it's ok," she assues Sakura before replying to Yuko``Well of course most people are, but your interesting still`` smiles looking at Yuko, not good with sarcasm in the least ``Your names are lovely, do they have meaning?" she asked having a fascination with names names always held some sort of power she believed but everyone had a second name as well Mairin had yet to find hers "My name means star of the sea" she explained to the both of them. II Paradox II Yuko scoffs and rolls his eyes as he looks to Mairin. He couldn't understand why this mare was full of pep no matter how sarcastic he was. Sakura smiles and laughs softly before shaking her head. "I don't know if my name means anything. Probably. Though I haven't much thought of it," she told the young mare. "Yuko is named after a mare that I had once met long ago," she leans in and whispers to Mairin. "Just don't tell him that," she giggles. Ice_Dragon_Demon "Don't roll your eyes, Smile! it will work better," she told Yuko with an innocent smile before focusing her attention on Sakura. Mairin listed and nodded "all names mean something," she was certain. Mairin giggled a little at the name "I won't tell," she promised Sakura II Paradox II "Smile, huh? And it'll work better you say," Yuko grimaced as he trotted over to Mairin. Sakura breathed deeply as she looked at her son in hopes that nothing more sarcastic would roll from this tongue, but of course she knew otherwise. Yuko paused as he looked to the young mare. "Okay. Here's me thinking AND smiling that you'll go away," he said and closed his eyes. "So if I smile it should work theoretically since you say that smiling makes everything work," he said. Yuko blinked open his eyes to see Mairin. A less than humorous laughter escaped from his vocals. "Maybe you should test your own theories," he snorted. Ice_Dragon_Demon Mairin Smiled "For that All you had to do was ask politely," she laughed before heading off after hearing her father call "Father is calling!" --- some time latter II Paradox II Yuko had finally snuck away from his Mother and earned himself some alone time. He adored and loved both his parents dearly, including his brother but he was a stallion and just need 'me time'. And with this precious time being alone he had decided to do absolutely nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch. He lay under the shade of a great Oak with soft breaths escaping from his vocals as the light breeze tousled through his mane and tail. Ice_Dragon_Demon Mairin had left her father after helping him with his errand, she loved him and her mother though her mother was off somewhere with her brother Holden. she did hope to see them again sometime soon. But enough of that for now, she was actually more interested in finding that grumpy stallion she'd met before, he needed some cheering up, she'd never met such an unusual stallion most of the ones she knew were very knightly and kind, even her grandparents according to her father, she was interested in finding out why. wandered carefully though the forest coming from behind the oak, she smiled "Oh Hello again Yuko, you're out here by yourself this time," she came around and stood in front of him. II Paradox II Yuko breathed deeply and rolled his optics as he heard the familair voice of the mare that had taken a tumble right before him only a couple hours ago. He had really thought that he had seen the last of her. Honestly, he didn't know why she even bothered? If he were in her hooves than he would be too embarassed to even show his face again. But nope. The mare was still peppy as ever. "What could you possibly want now?" Yuko asked as he opened his eyes and looked to her. "Here to give more entertainment?" he chuckled. "What stunt will you be preforming now? Another tumble?" he spat. Ice_Dragon_Demon He seemed more grumpy than he had before, Mairin would cheer him up somehow she was becoming more determined to. "To cheer you up, you're obviously still grumpy," she smiled "I have a few interesting things I can do, if you would perhaps be nicer," she was able to do some things, her father had sort of taught her how to fight and her mother mix potions. She shifted looking back the way she'd come she left her saddlebag a ways back with her father, it had some ingredients in it that would make sparks and stuff. she just smiled "Mr grumpy face that's what I'll call you Yuko, until you cheer up that is." II Paradox II Yuko breathed deeply as he rested his chin on his forelegs as he lay on the ground. "There's no force in this entire world that would want me to do anything with you," he told her sternly. Lifting his head as he looked to Mairin he scoffed quietly. "And I'm not grumpy. You just bore me," he stated matter-of-factly. Ice_Dragon_Demon Mairin smiled "Really, Well we should fix that and make you unbored Mr Grumpy." she glance over in the same direction her ingredients were. "I'll be right back wait here" she said as she dashed off to get her saddle bag. II Paradox II Yuko had thought about making a run for it when Mairin had stepped away. And while that did sound like a great plan of action, he didn't move or budge. In fact he stayed right where he was and awaited for the mare to return. Why? Well Yuko wasn't sure why he didn't bother in moving farther away from the mare. A part of him was rather intrigued by what she had in store. And besides there wasn't much to do anyways. Ice_Dragon_Demon Mairin was slightly surprised to see the stallion still there, but she was still glad he was, now she could show him some of the things she created, she came trotting back with her saddle bags resting on her. she knelt down and slipped them off her back. She pulled out a vial full of some sort of black powder "I made this, it's very sparky," she smiled, very much like her a sort of fire cracker. she gently poured out some of the contents, a measured amount to ensure she wouldn't hurt herself starting it. She scrapped it with her hoof, and it exploded with color, having placed cobalt into the mix. "What do you think?" she asked "I have more colors," II Paradox II Yuko watched the colorful spark without any sort of a smile or being impressed. Cocking his eyebrows as he stood up and stretched for a brief moment before looking to Mairin. "Soooo....you can make dirt spark?" he asked with a tilt of his head. "Impressive. Really, really impressive. You might just have a gift here," he snorted with a roll of his eyes. Ice_Dragon_Demon "Obviously not Mr gumpy, just that was just a small amount so I wouldn't hurt myself" she said as a matter o factually with a mischievous smile. "I'm working actually on something that would make them explode pretty in the sky!" she told him bringing out a small round ball looking thing with some sort of stick coming out if it. She kicked it up onto her nose with her hoof and balanced it there for a time before setting it back on the ground and using more of her black powder to light the ball then kicking it into the air a good distance from the two where it exploded showering sparks everywhere. "I just need to make it easier to get into the air.." she ponders aloud. "aren't they pretty when they fall?" II Paradox II Yuko watched as the sparks fell down onto the earth with a grimace. This, actually did impress the young stallion but not enough for him to break more than a grin and congratulate Mairin on discovering this. He snorted and tossed his mane. She probably didn't think of such a thing in the first place. Turning to the mare he shrugged his shoulders and then turned around as though he were about to leave. "It's so-so," he told her. "It's just dirt. Not all that exciting even if it sparks to different colors. Dirt is dirt," he said with plain 'ol tone of voice.

Ice_Dragon_Demon Mairin laughed "you're tough to impress at least you liked it a little," she smiled before continuing "well that was just a prototype, I hope to make them more spectacular in the future," Surprised he wants to leave "You're leaving already Mr grumpy?" she asked her voice sounds almost disappointing "I was going to ask if you wanted to try making sparks too"
II Paradox II Yuko chuckled and tossed his mane as he looked to the mare. "Playing with dirt just doesn't sound like fun to me. By hey if you wanna continue, by all means continue. Don't let me rain on your parade," he said. "Or you can come with me and I'll show you something much more fascinating than sparking dirt," he smirked. Ice_Dragon_Demon "It's not dirt," she explained to Yuko flicking her tail "I made it it's I a black powder, though I haven't named it yet." what could be more interesting that discovering something new? Mairin wondered But still she was curious, the little witch was always curious. "Really?" she said following Yuko "show me then" she smiled "I love to see interesting things." II Paradox II Yuko chuckled as he led Mairin into the woodlands. "Nope. It's dirt. You carry around a vial of dirt. You are one strange gal," he said with a cocked eyebrow. The young stallion paused from talking as he lead the young mare deeper into the woodlands. He wondered why it was that she could remain perfectly happy even though he would keep trying to shoot her down. Her certainly hadn't come across a mare this strong. Ice_Dragon_Demon "Oh I forgot my bag," she said surprised before they got to fa,r Mairin Quickly ran back and gets her saddle bags then smiles "Fine then, I have a jar of dirt," she says in a sing song voice loud enough for him to hear a few times as she runs carefully to catch back up with him. "And I'm not strange at all for your information," she smiles looking around the woodlands, "This place is pretty" she said. Just for you Para <3 Jar of dirt II Paradox II Yuko paused as he looked to Mairin. "You are very odd. For one you're very clumsy. I don't think I've ever seen someone take a tumble right in front of me. Impressive, yes, that you didn't run off crying like some little filly. But you're not too swift on your feet," he said. "Secondly you play with dirt that sparks. And you don't find that to be strange?" he asked and stepped closer to her. "Stupid ninny girl," he muttered with a shake of his head and continued to lead her into the forest. Ice_Dragon_Demon "I'm not Very clumsy I tumbled to avoid hitting you or your mother," she said proudly "I did it on purpose," she shook her head "Not an odd thing about it," at least in her mind she never found it odd, though perhaps she was a bit? Naw Her father would have said something if she was odd. She continued to follow "My father always told me there's no use crying when something goes wrong, if you don't like it change it." she said "My mother was the one who taught me about her magics, and showed me how to mix things though I discovered the black stuff on my own." she added proudly still striding beside him only pausing when he stared at her.

Yuko tossed his mane back and laughter escaped from his vocals. There was an amusing grimace on his lips as he looked to the young mare. "Touchy touchy," he muttered. "And I still say that dirt that you call 'black stuff' is well, in fact...dirt," he added. "And surely playing with dirt can't be as magical as you say it to be." Yuko paused as he blinked away from her and ahead of them. The forest now was beginning to get thicker.

"Well then you would be wrong," she smiled as she trotted ahead of him looking at the thickening forest "have any idea where we're going?" she paused then smiled excitedly "Or are we on an adventure?" Mairin returned to her previous disposition as she'd been keeping an eye on the shifting terrain, she had a photographic memory quite useful really when it came to remembering things like 'spells' and formulas.
"My Magic is only magic to those who can't understand it," Mairin pointed out quite happily "But I enjoy bringing smiles to those who think it magic brings more mystery into the world." Mairin could hold her own if she needed to, her father had taught her well enough, she had been schooled by both her parents, though one she had to seek to aquire her schooling.

“Well that’s all fine and dandy,” Yuko said as he looked to Mairin. “But I know a place that’s made of REAL magic and not just sparking dirt,” he grimaced. Turning his head around as he led the mare deeper into the thickest parts of the woods, he had his eyes fixed ahead of them as they reached the mountains. “Now Miss Mairin, I must ask…” he paused as he stepped closer to the mountain’s face. “Do you trust me?” he pushed his way through a couple bushes that revealed an opening crevice within the mountain. “Because what we’re looking for is right in there,” he nudged as he held a gap in between the bushes with his foreleg. There was a mischievous grin on his lips as he looked to the mare. Not a very trustworthy smile.

Real magic such a place existed?! her eyes widened at the thought, she'd only ever been taught things that 'simulated' magic to those who didn't understand the fundamentals however 'real magic was a whole other area, she'd heard things about the elders and their magic however... "I thought you had to be a true elder to achieve real magic," Mairin tilted her head curiously was it truly possible to achieve 'real' magic without becoming a true elder? her mind worked quickly trying to grasp the possibility.
"You haven't yet given me a reason not to trust you," she smiled, though his face was trying to say something else she felt he wouldn't let her come into any 'real' harm. Mairin examined the entrance, "I do love a good adventure." she chimed happily, moving closer toward the crevice.

Yuko chuckled and really couldn’t help himself from laughing as he peered into the crevice. It wasn’t that dark and with the last light of the day sent a warming glow inside the cave. “Who’s said it’s magic of someone? Perhaps it’s just natural magic,” he spoke quietly as he stepped inside. He could taste damp earth at the back of his tongue as he breathed in and looked around. It was a tight fit—even for himself but he managed to work around the tight rocks. “Well I’m glad you like an adventure,” he called out glancing over his shoulder at Mairin with a faint gentle smile. “This will be one talked about I’m sure,” he chuckled thinking to himself that she would indeed talk about what it was that he wanted to show her, considering that she was quite the chatterbox. “Come on. It’s not too far. Careful not to trip,” he said as he continued a bit through the tight entranceway.

"Natural Magic?" she grinned That would be a mystery worth uncovering, and depending on it's scale it might even be able to get Holden out of his stuffy cave, and into another... but in doing so she might be able to drag him out to meet daddy finally, Holden was always So enthralled in his work every time she visited him with stories, she would make this sound awesome. Her idea was sound, she just had to follow Yuko to find out what this magic was, and try and distinguishing it for herself what could possibly go wrong.
"You bet I love them, adventures that is!" Mairin returned his smile with her own wide one before she stuck her head into the dark and smiled they wouldn't be able to see where they were going at all it looked like it was a good thing she had her little pack on. She had all sorts of things in it, particularly a lantern she'd fashioned with great care and the help of those who were good with metal molding. She'd gone to a distant herd that was said to sell seal oil, and used it as the fuel it was crude, but effective none the less. she grabbed the lantern carefully out of her back placing it on a nearby rock in order to light it fire needed to stay away from her fire flowers, or else they'd all be KABOOM.
She Smiled quite pleased with herself though when she turned Yuko was already inside the tight entrance. "Hey Wait for me!" she called before grabbing the lantern. A grand adventure maybe if she told Aquila she'd sing it for her!
Mairin slipped in line behind Yuko carrying her lantern, the path was indeed tight but she was smaller to it wasn't as tight a squeeze for her as it was for Yuko. It was going to get colder, she was certain, it always did in caves unless they were near a volcano in which case it was going to get quite warm. She was quite excited, as she'd never done any exploring with a friend before she also was resisting an urge to call out her name and hear it bounce back....

Yuko glanced over his shoulder to see the dim light beginning to grow as the young mare walked closer up behind him. He chuckled and rolled his eyes, “scared of the dark?” he smirked. “You’ll have to put that out soon though otherwise you cannot see what is to be witnessed,” he told her before facing the tight path that lay ahead of them. The stone cold as Yuko’s body was pressed up against the walls of the tunnel. It was uncomfortably tight but he knew that he couldn’t turn around especially with Mairin behind him. Not to mention she really wanted to see what it was that Yuko had to show her. The young stallion grimaced to himself as he thought that it didn’t really take all that long to have Mairin wrapped around his hoof. She was like a little trailing puppy dog as he led her deeper into the tunnel. “It’s not too far,” he told her. “How are you holding up back there?” he asked, still grinning to himself.

What a silly question? She wouldn't be here if she was scared of the dark. she couldn't help but laugh a little "Nope not at all." she smiled widely smacking her face against a stalactite hanging from the cave roof being rather distracted by Yuko's comment. "Owch!" she shook her head shrugging off the pain, but laughing at the same time "Haha didn't see that there."
Mairin smiled "Glowing moss?" she inquired curiously, she'd seen many things in this world her brother constantly collected strange things, he used such moss to light his dim cave home.
Continuing to follow Yuko, Mairin just grinned "I'm just peachy." despite how tight it was she was ding pretty well, she was smaller than Yuko after all it was rather amusing to watch a large stallion try and squeeze trough here. "How about you? Fearless guide, how are you doing up there?"

Yuko grimaced as he glanced over his shoulder as he took a quick peek to see how Mairin was doing. Although all he could really see was the glow of the lantern as the tunnel was very tight and small. Turning his head, he looked ahead of the two as they wandered deeper into the cavern. You’d think that they were traveling miles away but in fact the heart of the cavern was almost near. Ahead there was a draft and the fading last rays of sunlight were piercing through gaps of the ceiling. Certain areas of the rocky ceiling had caved in and moss was growing on the stones. Some weeds and plants too were growing even in the darkest of the corners. “Aha,” he exhaled as he squeezed his way into the fairly big opening. Much more comfortable than the passageway that’s for sure. “So Mairin,” he started to say as he leaned against the side of the cavern. “Tell me what you know of magic,” he grimaced.

Mairin paused Shifting the lantern in her mouth so she could talk "Depends I know quite a bit about alchemy, and chemistry Mom called it that." she thought again hard "I've heard a bit about the magic of the star council, though most of that is just rumors.
"Mm that light seems to be more similar to sunlight" She mused taking a look at the small plants that were growing as well the light got brighter and clearer, the tunnel wider. Oh that was much better indeed She shook herself and accidentally shifted her saddle back "Oh no, oh no! Don't fall!" she cried setting the lantern down quickly and scrambling to fix her bags before something terrible happened.
"Sorry, I have some things in there that don't like being mixed and if they are..." she paused "We might get crushed." she coughed. She had to carry a lot of things for her fire flowers especially when she wanted to show them off to foals.
Oh Right she was supposed to be telling him about the magic she knew. "Well what kinds of magic do you want to know about?" It really depended on what he was interested in. She knew a lot of things after all.

Yuko watched as she scrambled to fix the satchel and was curious to why she insisted on bringing so many things with her. For a moment he wanted to ask her why she traveled with so many objects in one bag that apparently didn’t like being mixed together, but then Yuko just shrugged not really caring a whole lot. It was a bit idiotic to him. What would she need when traveling? The sun and the moon brought light. There was food all around them for the most part and the freshest rivers flowed throughout the woodlands. So what was the point? He exhaled loudly as he leaned his frame against the rock while looking at her. “Hm,” he snorted while shifting a bit on his hooves. “I don’t believe in magic,” he told her. “I believe in science. There’s a reaction to everything. There’s nothing as pure magic and I’m not interested in it at all.” Yuko paused a moment as he leaned off the slab of rock. “But you seem very interested in it. Why? Do you believe in true magic?” a grimace sprawled across his lips as he looked at her. If she did than she was completely insane. “I don’t understand why someone would engulf themself into something rather ridiculous and pointless. It’s beautiful sure and has its advantages sometimes, but other than that it’s a waste of time. You could put other knowledge into use.” “So, what got you hooked on this?” he asked somewhat curious.

Mairin giggled a bit during his exhale, then simply smiled, some were like that, others were the opposite, believing in only magic that nothing was rational the gods did everything. Mairin did he best to understand both from both perspectives in order to give herself a wider lens on the world. Her mother was one of those who focused on the 'science' while her father was in a herd that understood magic. The King actually came from a herd that used 'magic' heavily.
"I do, and I don't, the answer isn't one it's both." There was always something you couldn't explain despite everything her brother did his best finding out how things worked. He took them apart and examined them. She combined things to make new things. It was Quite fascinating. "My herd accepts all sorts of points of view so I learn them all I find them quite interesting." she explained despite his look of horror.
Mairin tilted her head "Oh, My mom makes things like love potions, at least she calls them that to make them sell better." Mairin explained "she took my brother as her apprentice but he didn't like how she did things so he left, I met her after a time because I was curious." Her mother didn't need more than once apprentice so she was taken with her father and granted she didn't like what her mother did either taking advantage of people like that. then again the concoction often did work by causing intoxication.
The mare shifted herself again once the pack was safely nestled on her back again. "Shall we go?" She grinned

Love potions…? Yuko snorted as he looked at the young mare. Did she really expect him to believe in love potions and charms? Maybe there was such things being brewed—how was he to know? He spent most of his life loafing around with his parents rather than exploring. His Mother had told him to go out and make his own adventure thus meeting Mairin. He’d rather of course be home right now not doing anything, just lounging about with boredom written all over his face. But here he was…with a mare who believed in magic and her mother made ‘love potions’, plus he was pretty much convinced that possibly everyone in her herd probably was just as insane.
“How come your brother didn’t like how your Mother did things?” he asked, not completely caring but it did carry on the conversation. “Making love potions, as you say, doesn’t sound like it would be dangerous.” Yuko cocked an eyebrow as he looked at Mairin. He shook his head as he slumped back against the cavern’s stone wall. “We’ll have to wait until the sun sets. So get comfortable,” his lips curled into a faint smile. “Mother said it was best to see this place at sunset or nightfall. Something tells me that you probably wouldn’t be able to survive the darkness,” he chuckled while looking her up and down. Yuko pushed himself up and walked closer towards her which wasn’t that far within the enclosed cave. “How long have you been traveling by yourself?” he asked her, pausing with his optics staring right into her own.
