Name: Caitlyn Masters
Nickname: Cait
Age: 17
Birthday: June 13
Sign: Gemini
Gemstone: Aquamarine
Blood Type: A-
Fav. Food: Anything with pasta
Hated Food: Cait doesn't really hate food, though she's unimpressed with raw tomatoes.
School: Meadowview High School
Hobbies: Cosplay || Sometimes, Cait's parents wish her addiction was crack instead-they're fairly certain it would be cheaper and probably less public. If there is an anime convention she can get to, Cait will go to it, and her favorite part is that cosplay is acceptable. She'll cosplay even without the excuse of a convention, happily running around Destiny City in full costume. This tends to get her strange looks, but what's life without a little insanity? Her parents grudgingly fund this, because it makes her so happy, but she has been trying to learn to make her costumes on her own because to buy them premade is a) expensive and b) occasionally difficult sizewise, as unless they are purchased at a convention it's difficult to be sure things will fit exactly. When she's in costume, she feels much more free and confident, because she doesn't have to be herself as long as she's dressed as someone else.
Music || Cait loves music. Her iPod headphones are practically glued to her ears, and she gleefully treks any music suggested. She's especially fond of filk-because what's more fun than indulging your inner nerd? Cait is also an accomplished cellist, to the point where, on her private teacher's recommendation, her parents shelled out for a 17th century Tirolean cello because it was a so-called "lady's cello" and more suited to Cait's petite frame than a true full-size.
Film || Someday, Cait swears, she will be as famous as James Cameron or Steven Spielberg or Orson Welles, and for the same reason. She absolutely loves movies, and she dreams of being in the industry, but doesn't feel she has the charisma to be an actress-so she dreams of directing or screenwriting. That, she thinks, is where the movie is really made-actors have their impact, but it's the director that can make or break a piece. For now, she is very rarely found without her camera, and she loves to pull friends together to make amateur films. She also loves to see movies in the theater, be they big-budget or small. Every movie has something to teach, after all, even if it's just what not to do!
TVTropes || This is not a hobby, it is an obsession. Cait surfs TVTropes all the time. She has an app for her phone, and she tends to think in terms of tropes, recognizing them in fictional works and even real people or interactions.
Virtues: Witty || As long as she's around friends, Cait usually has a joke or a snarky remark to lighten the mood. She prefers to have the people around her happy, joking, and laughing, since she's not very good at dealing with negativity. She is aware of when a joke is inappropriate/too soon, and so she does know when to shut up. Her snark is usually applied to situations versus people; for instance, if she ever found herself in a situation that was similar to a movie/show/book, she would not be able to resist pointing it out with a slightly sarcastic comment. (I.e., if for whatever reason she were with friends in some sort of old creepy building, she would probably say something to the effect of "So this is the part where we all split up and get picked off one by one, right?" )
Loyal || Are you Cait's friend? Then she will do her level best to ensure that you stay that way. She will stand by a friend's side through thick and thin, and unless a friend's behavior is truly self-destructive, will encourage them in whatever they wish to do. This deep personal loyalty often means that she will go out of her way to help them out, and on occasion she will do things she might not normally for friends. For instance, she hates large groups of strangers, but if a friend needed a date or a companion, to a wedding or party, she'd suck up her nerves and go, and even make an effort to be as social as possible.
Cheerful || Cait has mastered the art of always being as cheerful as possible around her friends. She does her best to always be wearing a smile, even if she's feeling like a mess. She'd rather see other people happy than drag them down with her problems. Most of the time, this is the case - she is a fairly upbeat person naturally. However, even if she is in deep turmoil after an argument with someone, she would still force that smile, in an effort to keep anyone from worrying over her.
Peacemaker || Cait hates conflict with the fire of a thousand suns. If she sees a fight breaking out between her friends or gets caught in the middle of one, her fist instinct is to try and smooth things out. The same is true if she gets caught in a conflict herself. This is about the only time she will stand up to her friends, because she would rather see everything in harmony than anything else. Even if it might make them upset with her, she's sure that in the end they'll know it was for the best and forgive her.
Flaws: Socially Awkward || Around large groups of people, Cait's normally witty and gregarious personality vanishes. She shuts down and tends to find the nearest friend to cling to rather than dealing with the big scary that is lots of people. She is also intensely uncomfortable at first introduction, and finds it very hard to just go up to people and introduce herself. In a new place, with new people, she turns into a shy, squeaky little mouse. Sometimes, this gets read as being antisocial or condescending, when it's really pure terror that she'll screw up an introduction and have someone dislike her. She can do better if she's supported by friends, but alone in a sea of strangers is the worst place for her.
Doormat || Cait is willing to absolutely bend over backwards to make her friends happy. She will go far out of her way to help them and tends to fall silent if she feels that her opinion is unwanted, unwarranted, or against the current "groupthink." She'd rather have peace than express her opinions. About the only time she will stand up for herself is if she is trying to mediate a conflict, because while having a friend upset with her is her absolute worst nightmare, being stuck in a situation of having two friends mad at each other is even worse. However, having people walk all over you generally is an excellent way to get them to see you as nothing more than a spineless joke.
Unforgiving || Cait puts a lot of implicit trust in her friends. She trusts that they won't abuse her loyalty and her doormat tendencies, most of all. If she finds out that someone has screwed her over or used her, she would be absolutely heartbroken...and she would absolutely never trust them again. While most of the time, even if she dislikes someone, they will get a polite smile and not, someone who has truly made it to her s**t list will get nothing but the silent treatment. She tends to stew on her anger for a long time, but with enough prodding it will often explode violently, and damn the consequences. This can be fairly terrifying, considering how contrary it is to her normal behavior.
Overemotional || Cait is not always fully in control of her emotions underneath her smiling facade. If she gets really, truly upset, she cannot hide it anymore, and she is very easily hurt. She also does not deal with stress well, and is prone to crying and screaming and getting upset over things that really don't matter as much as she thinks they do. However, she can usually hold it in until she gets a minute alone, at which point she will pitch a fit, unless it is truly bad or deeply hurtful, at which point all bets are off and she would, in fact, break down crying in front of a group of people. She is also known to take it to the dramatic extreme of bolting out of a room to get away from a bad situation.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Hair: Dark green naturally, mid-back-length with bangs. However, it is often styled or dyed for whatever she's cosplaying this week.
Face: Round face, small nose, very naturally red lips. Relatively pale.

Senshi: Sailor Persephone, Senshi of Pomegranates
Challenge: "Get a taste of this superfood!"
Fuku Colour: Main Color: Dark violet-red (like these pomegranate seeds) Secondary Color: Red-orange (like a pomegranate fruit)
Fuku: Got some lovely concept arts from Ende~ I think that design is about perfect <3 Small addistions would be her tiara and choker Collar -- Plain sailor collar Bow -- Small bow in front, bow in back attached to a tie around her waist, with a pomegranate decoration in front Bodice -- V-neck dress; see ref Sleeves -- Elbow-length, see ref for design Brooch -- Shaped like a pomegranate Bottoms -- Knee-length skirt, with slits on each side up her thigh Tiara -- Leafy/viny design, under her hair Choker -- CC Shoes -- Grecian sandals Gloves -- None Accessories -- Pomegranate blossom hairclip; a ribbon/string piece that goes up from her waist and to under her brooch on each side
Attacks:
Sailor Scout Attack: Pomegranate Kiss! Sailor Persephone speaks the name of the attack and holds out her cupped hands, in which three pomegranate seeds of energy appear. If she or an ally "consume" these, they will experience a small boost in energy, feeling more alert and with slightly increased reflexes, lasting about twenty seconds. One seed is sufficient for the boost to occur. She can summon these once per battle, but if she drops them somehow, they simply vanish.
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Pomegranate Blessing! At the Super stage, Persephone can summon six seeds in one go, though the energy boost still lasts for only twenty seconds. She can use this once per battle.
Eternal Sailor Attack: Pomegranate Bloom! Sailor Persephone speaks the name of the attack and spreads her arms wide, and a pomegranate-scented mist wafts around her. Any allies within a three-foot radius who inhale this mist find that non-life-threatening injuries begin to heal, and their pain and exhaustion is temporarily relieved. Most minor to moderate wounds (cuts, bruises, scratches, etc) will heal completely or almost completely; serious ones (broken bones, internal bleeding) will become less serious. The mist lingers for thirty seconds, and any healing sticks around, but pain and exhaustion immediately return once the mist fades away. These effects only apply to Sailor Persephone's allies, and she can only use this once per battle.

Family
Ian Masters, father - 42 years old, father to Cait, Alex, Cass, and Thalia. Was originally married to the twins' mother, but kept the kids when their marriage ended in a messy divorce due to his wife's affair. Married Mhairi a year later, after declaring it "love at first sight."
Mhairi Masters, formerly Southwood, born Allen, step-mother - 40 years old, married Cait and Alex's father when the twins were only two, and brought her own daughter in. Not at all the wicked stepmother, she is actually very fond of her stepkids and treats the as well as her own children.
Delia Masters, formerly Southwood, step-sister - 18 years old, Mhairi's daughter from her first marriage.Very popular and tends to distance herself from her "weird" sister in public, but privately is generally good to her.
Alex Masters, twin brother - 17 years old, Cait's twin and absolute best friend. Out and proud. Confident and personable, he makes friends extremely easily, especially when compared to his socially awkward sister.
Cassandra Masters, sister - 14 years old, Mhairi and Ian's older daughter together. Tends to be bossy, but means well, and sometimes acts a bit too pushy.
Thalia Masters, sister - 12 years old, the youngest in the family. Doesn't walk places so much as bounce. A very huggy person. Likes to try and be everyone's best friend.

Crit time~! heart Caitlyn definitely sounds like an interesting and fun character to RP with! I think you've got a very good basis here, for sure, but there are some things I'd like you to elaborate on. <3 A good rule of thumb for the length of your traits is 'at least four good, descriptive sentences long'! And as a wise woman recently told me, you can never have too much info in your descriptions. c: A bit more specifically: About her Cosplay: You said that her parents consider it an expensive hobby, so I'm really curious, does she buy all her costumes from other people, or does she make them herself? And why does her parents fund the hobby if they don't like it - or does she have a part-time job to support it? For Film, right now you describe her dreams, but not how it's actually a hobby! Does she actively film? Does she have her own film camera, does she borrow a friend's, the school's? Is she in a related club or does she take lessons somewhere? Right now you have a good 'why' for this hobby, but you're really missing a 'how'. <3 For her traits! In Witty you mention how she's snarky, but then also mention that she does not like negativity? Snarky humour is pretty negative; some of the words used to describe it in dictionaries include: unpleasant, scornful, to nag, to find fault with. Right now, snarky humour just doesn't really go well with the rest of your description! It'd be awesome if you could either elaborate and try to make it fit, or perhaps even take it out so the virtue makes more sense. c: Cheerful currently makes it seem like Caitlyn isn't actually cheerful, but rather puts on a front to please other people. Is that so? In either case, some elaboration would be good - you'll need to re-phrase at least some of it if she isn't actually pretending. In Socially Awkward it says that Cait is not good in social situations. This, I think, conflicts a bit with some of her virtues - but then you go on to say that it's actually lots of people that's the problem and not just social situations in general, as the first line makes it sound like? I'm not entirely sure which one you mean right now! I think if you take out the 'Cait is not good in social situations.'-sentence, add some more explanation about how and why she's got such a hard time dealing with large amounts of people, as well as re-name the actual flaw, I think you can make it work with a 'fear of too many people' focus! I would love to see the traits Doormat and Peacemaker work together a bit more! What is it about conflict that makes her confident enough to step out against other people, even with her Doormat flaw? For Peacemaker, it sounds like there might be a bit of history behind this - is that so? And for Doormat, what if it was her friends picking a fight with someone else? Picking on someone else? Would she step in then, or would she just stand by? Similarly, I would like to see a bit more correlation between her Overemotional flaw and Cheerful virtue, if she really does only pretend to be cheerful all the time. You say that she has trouble dealing well with stress and often reacts in very big ways; how does this work with her always being able to keep up a facade of cheerfulness around her friends? Does she manage to keep her reactions in until she gets by herself, at which points she has a fit? I think these can work together, no problem, but you need to elaborate on how and why. <3 I really love how her name and her sphere ties together, and how you've played on Persephone being Greek in her outfit! Much kudos for that. <333 For the attack Pomegranate Kiss- When you say three seeds, do you mean that three different allies can grab a seed and get a boost or would one have to eat all three seeds by themself to get the boost? I think you can make it so that each seed can be eaten by a different ally for a boost, but in that case I would probably re-think her being able to do it twice in one battle! You could also probably up the duration in that case, BUT I'd like to ask you to elaborate on what exactly you mean by energy first! Does the consumer feel more awake, less tired, much like the effect of coffee? Or do you mean that their reflexes become faster? I'd really like more info on how exactly this boost in energy affects people or makes them feel. <3 Again for Pomegranate Blessing, the same questions as for the first attack! And how exactly do you define minor and major injuries? Just a few examples to give an idea is fine! As for Persephone's Eternal attack, Taste of the Underworld, I'm not really seeing any connection with the sphere of Pomegranates except for the mist being pomegranate-scented? I did some checking on the net to find out if there's any drowsiness effects related to pomegranates, and while I could find a couple of websites claiming so, none of them were particularly credible. If you have a source claiming otherwise, I'd really like to see it! <3 If not, I think you may be better off going with one of the more established effects of pomegranates - several sources claimed them to be very good for the health and certain illnesses, so perhaps something healing-related? Just a thought. <33 All in all, I really do think you've got a solid basis and a wonderful character - you just need to add a bit more description! c: <333 Songstress Kitsune forgot to quote you, sorry!

Thank you for the crit! I realized some of the traits were a little underdescribed, so I tried to add a bit more to them! As for her attacks, I had meant it to be one seed = boost to one ally, so I fixed the wording to reflect that. The third attack was more related to the symbolism of pomegranates than literal ones; as a general rule they tend to stand for one of two things: death or fertility. The first two play towards the actual affects plus the fertility symbolism in some cultures, whereas the third plays towards the death/underworld angle they have in others. If it needs to be more in line with the others, I can change it, though!

No worries, any time! c: And I absolutely love what you added to her hobbies, they sound much more alive to me now! Great job, for sure. <333 There's a bit of conflict between Witty and Socially Awkward - first line in Witty is: No matter the situation, Cait usually has a joke or a snarky remark to lighten the mood. Whereas the first line in Socially Awkward is: Around large groups of people, Cait's normally witty and gregarious personality vanishes. These two don't really go together! c: You'll have to decide if it's one way or the other, since they are pretty mutually exclusive. (If you decide to go the way of Socially Awkward, then the bit '(I.e., if for whatever reason she were part of a large group in some sort of old creepy building, she would probably say something to the effect of "So this is the part where we all split up and get picked off one by one, right?" )' is also contradictory, just to keep that in mind.) You still need to make Doormat and Peacemaker work together more (as mentioned in my earlier crit)! As well as that, the traits Unforgiving, Doormat, Peacemaker and Loyal are still a bit thin - I'd love it if you could deepen their descriptions. <33 It wouldn't hurt to elaborate some more on Socially Awkward, as well! The Stamper's Guide has some good tips for what to think of when you're doing this: Quote: Another way to think of it is that ideally, any virtue or flaw should have answers to the following: 1. How does it affect their THOUGHTS OR FEELINGS? What's their motivation with this? 2. How does it affect their ACTIONS? What are they doing with their motivation? How are they expressing it? 3. How does it affect OTHER CHARACTERS? If it's a virtue, how can this lead to making them liked or respected? If it's a flaw, how can it earn them dislike or disrespect? Nice info added to her attacks! <33 I think you can safely up the duration on attack #1 to 20 secs and attack #2 to 30 secs, now that you have only one use per battle. You're not obligated to, of course, but if you want to you can. <333 As for her Eternal attack, I think it's fine to play off of the symbolism! But you'll have to persuade me a bit more - I'm just not seeing the connection between the death/underworld angle and anything in the actual attack right now. How is drowsiness tied to the themes you mentioned?

Made some edits, tried to take out contradictory statements and et cetera~ I think I've made it a bit more clear how the doormat/peacemaker things work; 90% of the time she'll let herself be walked over, but when she's trying to calm people down she'll put on her metaphorical big girl panties and stand up and say something. Also, I swapped her Eternal to a healing/buff like the others; I just couldn't come up with a really good "underworld/death associated" one and being a pure healing/support Senshi kind of fits her well I think (especially since, besides being Hades's wife, Persephone is associated closely with springtime and new life!)

Alright, think the personality section's good to go now! Thumbs up, you've done an awesome job elaborating everything in her profile. <3 I still have a few questions about her Eternal attack, though! c: I think the basis of the effect, the healing, works fine with her sphere, but what exactly do you mean when you say 'their injuries begin to heal'? Do the injuries actually heal entirely or do they only partway heal (and if so, to what extent)? Does this apply to all injuries, no matter how severe? The same question for 'any pain or exhaustion begins to fade', as well - does it fade entirely or just some of it? You may want to tread carefully here, because healing is a very powerful thing, and being able to entirely heal all life-threatening wounds for an entire 30 seconds AND take away all the pain and exhaustion of all allies is a bit overpowered! Even just being able to heal all wounds for 30 seconds, by itself, is a bit too much. c: One recommendation is maybe saying that instead of instantly healing everything, she insteads speeds up the recovery process? I'd also be careful with applying it to every wound, no matter size - set a limit for yourself somewhere. If you're going to have the secondary effect as well, you may want to be extra careful because that's two effects you have to balance. You can definitely have both of them, that's no trouble! But you may want to say, for example, that the mist speeds up healing of all non-life-threatening injuries (but doesn't heal them entirely) and temporarily relieves the pain and exhaustion of people while said mist is active/being inhaled. The injuries would stay at the level of healing they'd gotten to when the mist expires, but all pain/exhaustion would return once it's gone! You can also say that all non-major injuries (I'm thinking medium injuries here, nothing like internal bleeding, huge cuts, five broken bones, etc) heal immediately upon contact with the mist (but no further healing is done by the mist except that), and that the mist takes away most of the pain and exhaustion an ally is feeling, permanently. Or you could play on the fruit being healthy and boosting the body's natural defense against sickness and say that any non-life-threatening injury sustained in the 30 seconds the mist is active heals up in a matter of seconds! And while the mist is being inhaled, allies feel as though most of their pain and exhaustion is gone, at least until the mist dissipates. You're free to make something up yourself, of course, these are just suggestions. <333 I do think you've got what can be a very good attack here, we just need to balance it and get some more info in the description! As it's a healing magic, you really need to put what kind of injuries exactly you're thinking it can heal, max; you don't need to list every little thing, but a general overview of what you think might be the ceiling of its healing capabilities would be fantastic! Maybe just list what you think would be most common?

I think I've given it some balance (and gotten it to say what I'd originally meant it to in the first place!) If you still think it's OP, I can limit it to just mild/moderate wounds or take out the painkiller/exhaustion reduction?

Ephebe covered it pretty well, I've just got a couple things -
I'm a little concerned about how her Cosplaying (and conventioning) hobby clashes with her Social Awkward flaw. Though it is not always the case, many people that I know that cosplays (and pretty much all of the people I know that cosplay outside of conventions and during their everyday life) do it as an attention seeking habit. It's something that they want to be looked at for doing, which seems strange if she doesn't want crowds of strangers noticing her.
Conventions in and of themselves are often hugely populated, so if she really is so awkward in large groups I have a hard time understanding how she'd have fun at conventions and not be overwhelmed by them.
Powers - Having her super power both increase in number of effects and number of seeds is a bit too much. Please choose one or the other (six seeds that do the same thing as her basic attack, or three that have the added effect of healing as well)
For her eternal power if an enemy stepped into the mist would they also start to heal?

I added a bit to the hobby to clarify; when she's dressed up in cosplay she feels more confident/sure of herself and less awkward. But if you feel it still clashes too much, I can scrap the hobby? Knocked out the healing effect on her Super power; also clarified that her Eternal power only applies to her allies, not enemies.

No that's fine. I figured that might be the direction you wanted to go with it, but I just needed to be sure. It might help to also note in her socially awkward flaw that conventions are an exception to this because she is playing someone that is not herself and doesn't ever intend to see these people again so it less self concious. That is just a suggestion though, not necessary.
So she's ACCEPTED. Good luck getting her
