It was a very nice day. The sun was high up in the middle of the blue sky, and there was only a scattering of clouds. They were small, harmless white poofs floating by in the distance. The breeze was delicate but tangible, and the air didn't feel icky in the slightest. It was perfect for frolicking or journeying through the lands.
It was especially perfect for Lexi. After what seemed like forever, she was finally getting her way. This strange black stallion, now her companion, had been a big old butt about hiding for the rest of his life. Well, no more! She would show him the world. Take him wonder by wonder. Yeah!
That is, if they ever made it somewhere before they keeled over. He was the slowest thing she had ever seen! Besides snails, of course. Not that she could really fault either of them; they were held back by their own bodies. Snails by their lack of feet, and this guy had a limp. So Lexi kept a pace in line with him, as she kept an eye on him, ready to offer help if need be.
She passively stretched her wings as the wind picked up. Predictably, she felt the need to fly while she was grounded. Lexi huffed at herself. It was a bad time for this! The worst time, really. Why did it have to be that when things were going smoothly she then had to work against herself? Stupid, stupid, stupid! Breathe and keep walking.
