It seems difficult, if not impossible to create a character that you want to be a metamorphic, or a parseltongue, or anything that is considered "more-than-average", but, the truth is... it's not.
Follow the following steps to become a "more-than-average" character:
Follow the following steps to become a "more-than-average" character:
1. Go to the Harry Potter Wiki and see if what you want to be actually exists in the storyline. We try very hard to make this guild as close to the Wizarding World the J.K. Rowling envisioned as possible. Please help us do that by not making up something new. Besides, wouldn't it be terrible if later on we caught you and you had to change your character back to normal? It would mess up all your past posts. So, please, make sure to check!
2. See the thread: Accepted Magical Creatures and their Expected Conduct if you are interested in a creature-student character. Please understand, however, that if you wish for your character to attend Hogwarts, their profiles must be posted in the Student Profiles Subforum and not the Magical Creatures subforum.
3. Go check our accepting status. If we are closed, don't even think about putting a character who knows parseltongue because all we'll tell you to do is to get rid of that feature of your character. Most people don't bother to read the accepting status, but it's there for your advantage too! We keep it closed because we don't want to see so many people with unique things about them. It makes them less unique.
4. Create your character. If the accepting status is open, you're allowed to make a "more-than-average" character and, if it's closed, please avoid making one (see third step above for more information, if you haven't already done so). If you are making a "more-than-average" character, be sure to follow the above guidelines or you may forfeit your chance to create your character.
5. If you were unable to make your character "more-than-average" because of our closed accepting status, don't fret! There are many opportunities to make it happen. Here are some vague choices:
+ Wait until the accepting status is open and edit your character. We do yearly (1 year = 2 months in real life) character updates, so you could apply to be one at that time. There are some things (such as being a Parseltongue) that can only be passed on through genetics. If you are going to apply at this time to be "more-than-average", make sure to title your character as something that will catch our eyes ( e.g. "~ MTA Update", etc.).
+ Have your character have an accident or do something to have your character become what you want them to be. If you want them to be a werewolf, have them be bitten. If you want them to become a seer, have them have a near-death experience from falling off their broom in Quidditch. There are some things (such as being a Parseltongue) that can only be passed on through genetics. If you choose to do this idea, you must check with one of the crew members before you do anything to your character. Only check with one crew member, or else you will forfeit your chances to be anything "more-than-average". We do yearly (1 year = 2 months in real life) character updates, so make sure to update your character during this time.
The accepting status will only ever open during update time periods/first year accepting time period. It will never open up during the year.
Individual cases will be determined by the crew member contacted, despite being open or closed status.
