Things had been crazy, but now they seemed to be going back to normal. Arachne was on her own, once again. Sadness had over come her several times, but she had tried to get over the feeling. She let a smile cross her face once the sun had lifted in the sky. Things were going to be good today, she just had to give it a chance. She carefully stepped out from under the tree she had found, and moved slowly into the sun light. It felt good, hitting her face and body. She hadn't traveled far lately, hoping that something would happen, but it didn't. It was time to move on, time to forget.

She started off slow at first, then started to pick up the pace. She was glad it wasn't raining today, she'd hate to get caught in another storm. No, that was bad. She let out a relief sigh, and started to jog. She hadn't done that in a long time, and it felt good to move like that. Felt good to feel the dirt under your paws when running, even if she wasn't doing it very fast.

He rolled in the dirt, scratching at his back to rid himself of any pests that sought to make a meal of him. The sun was warm on his fur not quite reaching that level of 'hot' or 'uncomfortable'. Rolling onto his belly Madi sighed in bliss. The bugs stopping biting, standing and shaking he almost missed the lioness running about. Watching her for a bit, he figured a lone lioness might be good company, if anything, she might keep his mind occupied while he waiting for a herd to come by.

Shaking the last bits of dust off, he began to run to join her, small smile on his face. "Have some place to be?" He called out, paws carrying him quickly behind her. "Don't see a rush for anything if you don't mind me saying. Besides, a herd usually comes round ever day if it's prey you're looking for."

Arachne hadn't expected to hear someone else speak, she jumped and ended up tripping over herself from all of the confusion. She rolled once, and landed on her belly. Stunned, she sat there for a moment looking at the ground, and giving a good shake of her head. She looked around to see who had said something to her. At first she hadn't made out anything he had said, just the voice had crept up on her. "W-what?" She said quietly as she looked at him then looked herself over.

She hadn't hurt anything, good. She slowly stood up and shook the dust off of her, though it did no good with her black cloth, it was down dusty looking. No matter, it'd come off soon enough. She still hadn't believed that there was someone else there, even though he was right in front of her now, as she had turned towards him. She shook her head again. More for the fact she thought she was seeing stuff. Though this time, she believe the other lion was there. She felt awkward at first... she had just fallen and embarrassed the hell out of herself... She pawed at the ground lightly.. "I... I.. I'm sorry" She said looking away from him

The poor girl tripped and Madi's eyes widened as he watched it happen. Coming to a stop he went over to check on her as best he could. There was not pity in his eyes so much as concern. He hadn't meant to startle her or cause her to fall. Seeing no blood he relaxed just slightly though he was not about to trust vision alone. A sprained leg or a broken bone was less likely, but it happened from slower runs and lighter tumbles.

Smiling lightly Madi gave her a shake of his head. "Don't be. I was the one that startled you. It is I who should be apologizing. For causing you to fall." He bowed slightly at her. "Are you alright though? Nothing hurting?"

"N-no... I... I don't think so." She said checking herself over again. No, she was fine, though she was amazed that he had even asked if she was okay. "I'm o-okay." She hadn't felt hurt. She looked from herself to him then gave a shy smile to him. She tried to move to where he wouldn't notice her making. She had always felt it was a curse type of thing, and so far it had been sorta true. She wouldn't tell anyone that, however.

She wanted to say it was her fault for not paying attention, but he did have her in a bit of a snare. He did startle her, but it was her fault for not paying attention.... She frowned a little, but decided it was better to let the subject slip away. "I'm Arachne" She said quietly. She never talked loud, unless she needed to which so far was never.

His tail flicked once and twice, and then stopped. She said she was fine, which was just what he'd been hoping for. He wasn't sure what he'd have done if she'd been hurt. Aside from apologize and fret for a while. Maybe feel guilty then go hunt things for her while she healed. Or flee. hard to say.

"That's good to know. I'm Madi'molôi, though Madi is less of a mouthful, if that's easier." He smiled, trying not to be intimidating. "Where did you come from if you don't mind me asking? I you didn't have the look of someone rushed, and personally I always enjoy a good story."

Once again, he surprised her. It was rare to find someone who actually wanted to talk. Though, she didn't know how much company she could be. She looked to her feet and shuffled them a moment. "Well," she started. "I-I was under a tree," She paused "N-not too far from here." She lifted her eyes to his, and quickly let them dart away again. She wasn't sure what else to say. She had been in a rush in the recent past, but she was forcing herself to move forward.

"B-but, I'm not from around here." She hadn't really known where she was from. She had no real home. "No where in p-particular." She didn't want to bore him with her troubles, and the fact she was trying to put them behind her. She had cried on someone else's shoulders already, she didn't need to do it to someone else. She felt pretty bad about it already. "A-and you?" She said giving a nervous smile.

She was trying not to be nervous, but she couldn't help it. She didn't want to scare him off. Though, sometimes that might be a good thing? She didn't want to get hurt again either... She was confused, she didn't want to be alone, yet half of her said it was better to be alone... It was almost too much.

Sitting down as she spoke, his ears were pricked, attention gathered. She stuttered her words, yet he didn't mind. She seemed slightly less nervous as simply not used to him maybe? She might have never been around many males, but he didn't know. He simply was content to listen, stutter or no.

Paws crossing the lion nodded as she finished. He knew the feeling of being from 'no where', those his was more the case of wandering and simply never staying in one place too long. "I'm not from around here either, and I've spent most my life wandering and keeping to myself. Spent a while in some pride's lands but left quickly enough. I'm not one much for being a another lion's lackey. Prefer controlling my own fate. Or really, just being able to do what I want." He chuckled lightly. "Well that and wandering is a bit more fun than staying in one play forever. Get to meet a lot of interesting folks such as yourself." A claw pointed at her for a moment.

"But if you're not going anywhere, what you looking for? Most people might not know where they're going, but they have something they want to find."

She went to answer his question, but hesitated. She had been looking for someone, but was slowly moving on. He had completely vanished. She paused for a moment, she really didn't know what she was looking for now. Deep inside, she knew that she'd always be looking for him. She looked to the ground and shuffled her feet in the dirt. She didn't know if she should say anything. How could she lose a blind lion?

"I-I...." She started. "I was l-looking for someone." She didn't look up. She felt ashamed. What must this other think of her after she tells him? "He.... V-vanished." She added. She couldn't stop herself from saying it though. Before she wouldn't have said anything, as if she let it leave her mouth then it would be true. It had been a long time since then, and still she couldn't find him. It was time.

She really had no where to go, no goal to achieve, nothing to find. She was now just wondering endlessly to keep herself alive. She finally looked up at him with tears creeping to her eyes, but she fought them off the best she could.

Well, that explained a bit. Quite a bit really. The loss of someone could indeed, drive one from a pride and set them wandering. "I see. I am sorry that you have lost someone." He couldn't relate, as he'd never been close to anyone before. A somewhat lonely existence, but it was by his choice that he lived the way he lived.

"But if he vanished, there is always a chance he'll-" Madi's words were cut short as he saw the pain in her face. Sadness was a terrible thing and to suffer from it due to the loss of a companion or friend? It only made it worse.

Getting up the lion tentatively went to the other. "I apologize. I didn't realize it was..." he searched for the right word, "such a hardship. If there is anything I might be able to do, please do not hesitate to ask. It is my fault for slowing your journey with my invasive questions after all."

She shook her head slowly. "I-it's not your fault." She didn't want to seem rude, it wasn't like it had just happened either. It had been longer than she could truly tell. She gave him a weak smile. "M-maybe he'll t-turn up somewhere." Of course, that was hoping for a bit much. She didn't let the thought go to her head. She knew that it was hopeless now, and perhaps it was best to think that perhaps he moved on and found somewhere he belonged.

"I-I'm actually a little l-lost" She said, realizing she hadn't a clue where she was. She didn't know this area, and the past couple moons, she had passed with a type of haze over her eyes. She even looked a bit thinner than she normally did, but not so much thin that someone who didn't know where would notice.

Perhaps he could help her? Maybe not with finding Raj, but with a place to say or even a companion for a while until she figured out where she wanted to go. "I should be apologizing, not you." She said looking to her paws, shuffling them over some loose rocks. She didn't know why she need to apologize, but she felt like she should.

The lion knew it wasn’t his fault, but a part of him empathized. Not well, but he could just in part. “Maybe. To hold onto hope is a good thing. It can give us strength when we might otherwise have none. It’s kept driving me forward many sleepless night before. Without hope, what do you have?” His tail flicked. “Not much. Just yourself, and that’s a bit annoying when you need something to lean on.”

As she said she was lost, Madi gave her a once over. She seemed fine for being lost really. Nothing bloody or torn. No large battle scars. “No shame in it. Wanderer myself but I do know a good place to start.” Moving next to her he gave the best thing akin to a smile he could. “Forward. I’ve been there and back. It’s not bad. You don’t know much until you simply go and take a visit.” Where they talking about location or the future? Madi was blurring the line, and badly. “And in being a wanderer, I’ve got nothing but time on my paws. That and no need to find anyplace. But, I do often find myself in need of help with catching a gazelle or whatever decides to come and graze. So,” He motioned to the direction she’d been going. “Mind if I tag along for a time, see where forward takes you?”

She pondered his words for a moment. He was very wise, she realized, yet she still felt like that bit of hope was dying in her. At least, for finding her friend. She needed something else to hope for, something else to strive for, and keep going. However, she hadn't a clue what yet. She felt a bit of helplessness wash over her for a moment, then he moved towards her.

"W-what if I... run into trouble?" She asked him curiously. Maybe he had all the answers she needed for the moment, but perhaps he didn't. It was nice having someone tell her that she wasn't alone in this sort of situation. Maybe not the exact situation, but it was still slightly comforting. She nodded at his question "I...I'd like that." She didn't want to be alone, she hated being alone.

She didn't want to force him to go though, but he did ask, not her. She smiled at him shyly. She needed a friend, and he seemed to be just the friend she needed. At least, for now. She didn't expect him to stick around forever, and she'd feel bad if she made him feel like he was suppose to do that. "but... O-only if you want to." She added to make sure he didn't feel pressured by her.

Madi laughed at the notion of trouble. “Trouble how? I find it best to just avoid it. If trouble finds me, I fight if I have to, or try to solve trouble. A nasty habit the second part.” A shake of his mane. “I like to help too much at times. Trouble is what we make of it. I try not to make it too big.” Looking to the east he smirked. “Sometimes I admit though, I like a bit of it. Keeps me on my toes. And a little never hurts per say. Trouble can just be a bit of playful fun on occasion.” His smile was full of confidence and mirth. He really didn’t think much of ‘trouble’. Things would come as they did, and he’d move around or with them as he’d always had.
“But, Arachne I asked because I want to. I mean really.” He laughed again motioning to the land around them. “This is not all that exciting. Going someplace? Having some company for a time, for whatever reason, is exciting. It’s an opportunity to explore and see more of the world. I want to go. I’d move along at some point, why not move with some company? You’re-“ he paused, not wanting to give the wrong impression, “sweet. Kind really from as far as I can tell. Maybe a part of me says I ought to just play a protective role, but- experience has told me that most lionesses get fussy with some random male trying to help in that manner.” He shrugged. “I just like to help and have someone to talk to time to time.”

She felt silly at his laughing. "I... I don't fight very well." She said looking down at her paws. She really wasn't the type to fight, and she had never been good at solving problems. Avoiding them... she was good at avoiding them at least. She never thought of trouble being fun at all. He did have a weird look at the world, maybe that's why she ran into him?

She was taken aback from what he was saying. She didn't understand why others would be fussy with a little help, sometimes all she needed was help and no one to help her. She smiled at him kindly. "Well, then they are quite foolish." She said with a nod. She decided it was all that she'd say. Maybe they weren't very foolish, but just didn't need anyone at the time? Or they were too proud to have someone help them. Arachne wasn't the type like that. She could use a little company, and he saw it she supposed.

"I do enjoy a bit of company," she started "it has been a while since I had some." At least company that stuck around longer then a few hours. She didn't want to cling to him for every need she had, but this was good. Maybe it'd help her a bit? She hoped so. She hoped he could help her more than he'd realize, or she'd tell. "Shall we get going then?" She asked him. If they were going to be around each other for some time, they might as well get to a better more comfortable area.
