Karakura park is gorgeous. Its kept in top shape because of the many volunteers that take their time to keep it that way. During the day people are often seen walking their dogs along the path, people playing sports in the fields, and children laughing and giggling going down the park's slides. But during the night this place can seem rather spooky, its quiet and calm for most of the nights. But strange reports ranging from ghosts to aliens have been common among the kids and even some adults here.

The man walking through the park was almost two meters tall. His face gave away his nationality without a need for him to speak in his thick German accent. Deep-set eyes stared lifelessly over his half-rimmed glasses, while his left hand was stuffed deeply within the adjacent pocket of his black overcoat--the color being stark contrast to that usually worn by the Quincy. The opposite hand held a cigarette, which he put to his lips and took a long, deep inhalation of smoke followed by exhaling. All the while his left fingers turned over the small Ginto tubes in his pocket, in thought. Many parents lead their children away from him, a natural instinct to avoid the man and his dark aura. He took no offense at this--he had learned not to. After all, who was he to judge a parent's method of protecting their children: the guilt of his own failure still constantly plagued his mind, even if it was not in the foremost of his thoughts. His son would have been forty now. Old... much older than he was when he had lost him. But the old man had to remind himself that today was not a day to dwell on the past: it was a day to plan for the future. A cliche, quite possibly, but regardless the step necessary for the future.
Diedrich took a seat on a park bench, his back arching and his elbows resting on his knees. He lifted his right hand only to take another smoke, before once more resting it limply. The message to all the Quincy had been clear: come to Karakura park unless you were too far away or preoccupied with a matter concerning the betterment of the Quincy or honor. After all, it was now or never for the Quincy. A little birdie had told Diedrich that a Shinigami Captain was dead by the hands of the Arrancar and another one kidnapped by them. While both those sides were making their moves, the Quincy could make theirs. Given, Diedrich would not easily forget the tragedy that befell the Quincy two hundred years ago. They had failed at their previous attempt to weaken the Shinigami, and with Diedrich's careful measures to not strengthen his forces to the point where the Shinigami would take notice, their numbers were too few to launch such a careless raid. No, the moves the Quincy would take would be more calculated, less reckless. But they would happen, and the Shinigami and Arrancar would receive justice.
The message sent out to the Quincy were clearer then the blue sky, come to Karakura Park. If one was far away they were lucky enough to miss out. No such luck for Zelda. She lived in Karakura Town, she was able to attended. Another sign of lucky, the call came to her after School hours. Damn. Having to be at School would have been an excellent excuse to miss out on some boring gathering. Sure it was important, but Zelda wouldn't be caught dead admitting it out loud. No way no how. Still dressed in her school uniform, consisting of a blazer atop a standard button up and knee length frilled skirt with stockings and proper outdoor shoes. Not Zelda's favourite attire, but it was manditory. Within one hand she carried along her book carrier which carted all her homework. Another thing she could do without. Zelda wasn't the smartest person in the world, many would rank her only slightly above that of a donkey, who cared. She could easily punch them out and make them dummer then a door handle. Violence, what couldn't it solve. Heading towards the park, an annoyed expression lingering her features, Zelda managed to spot the man responsible for the call. She thought to herself, Joy.
Reaching to where the man sat, Zelda stood her eyes narrowed in on his figure. "Yoh." She'd go on to say more, but she didn't want to start something in the middle of the park, to which she thought was a stupid place to have a gathering, especially if you were discussing matters involving Shinigami, Hollows, and Quincy. Not you typical School yard talk. It was going to earn stares from people passing by. Zelda could easily scare them off, but that would just attract equal attention, and maybe something worse. Wouldn't want that now. Crossing her arms she tapped her foot impatiently. She didn't want to be there, she had other things to do. Like work. Zelda had a life outside the world of Quincy, she had a job and if she was late she'd be fired. Defiantly couldn't have that, no matter how much she detested working. The sight before all would seem like a daughter and father, the daughter clearly annoyed. Like any usual eager teenager would appear. To bad appearances were deceiving. However Zelda would remain until dismissed, if there was a call there was something important to discuss.

Late. Diedrich removed an old pocket watch from his overcoat to check the time. Twenty minutes and no one. Surely someone would be able to come? He replaced the pocket watch and glanced up to see a teenage girl in a school uniform approach. Of all the Quincy he had trained, only this one set him a bit ill at ease. All those years ago, he had trained her mother in his early years in Germany. The memories were as vivid as if they were yesterday--especially when she left in the midst of their great battle. She was young and in love, but with her gone it meant one less Quincy to defend themselves. Of course, her adoptive parents had also been trained under his wing and instructed to reach her, but mostly because he didn't want the Shinigami to get to her first. They needed every person they could get, and one more ally for the Shinigami would be less than desirable. Though a loving father to the Quincy, Diedrich was not blind. He could think strategically as well as emotionally, a trait which he felt leaders must have: a leader must be willing to put his men before himself, but also know when a sacrifice is necessary for the greater good.
Temperamental, violent, to name a few personality flaws. Diedrich sighed. His cranky father side brought out every one of his Quincy underlings' flaws, highlighted them, and waved them in his face constantly. Weaknesses in battle, ways that they could become a problem, et cetera. It's not as if he thought himself perfect, rather he simply wanted all the other Quincy to be. More than that, however, Zelda was not Diedrich's first choice for the assignment to come, especially considering her background. After her brief introduction, Diedrich took a smoke from his dying cigarette. "Punctuality is a useful trait to acquire, Zelda." He spoke in German, and from both their appearances, hearing this language come from either his or Zelda's mouth would not seem unusual to onlookers. While he spoke, Diedrich watched the burning stub of a cigarette and only looked up once he had finished. His tone stern, lecturing, but really Zelda wasn't the one he should be lecturing. After all, she was the only one who had even bothered to arrive yet. All the Quincy who failed to show up should be the ones receiving stern words.

Mathew walked through the park with his hands in his pocket searching for the person who sent the message. Mathew likes being in the park and to train there due to the trees in which he often climbs in when he’s in the park that remind him of the area he grew up. He didn’t understand why this meeting would have to take place here in the middle of a public area where everyone could easily approach and spy on them, but it was not his decision and he also could see the pro’s in it. As he came to the place where the message said to go to Mathew noticed an old man and a girl of about Mathew’s age already be there talking to each other in German what got some people to briefly stare to them before moving along. Mathew had to smile hearing the German language and had to snicker for a second before shaking his head and walking to the two other Quincy who were already on the meeting. ”hello there“ he said before looking around to check if there were others or any potential spies. ”were the only ones here yet?“ he spoke in German as he turned his attention to the old man. The message better be very important if all Quincy had to come.

Not long after Zelda, another one came. Mathew. This one hadn't trained under him, but he was a Quincy. And a Quincy was a Quincy. Hopefully his allegiance would stay true... Neither of them were perfect, but as Diedrich glanced at his pocket watch once more, he knew that he couldn't really afford to wait around much longer. If they wanted to make their move, it would be now or never. He would have to contact the others some other way to follow whenever able, if all things go well. I had hoped more high-ranked Stern Ritter would be here for the debriefing... I'll just have to withhold some information from these two... He sighed gently. This wasn't the sort of thing that could just go on without anyone knowing anything, and it irked him that no one else was bothering to show up. With any luck he could squeeze by with everyone else just trusting in him. Trust... he hesitated in his response, staring at the stub of a cigarette for a short while. Would he have trusted his father here? His father wouldn't do something this crazy. Because his plan was truly and utterly crazy. It could go well, or they could all die before it could even be executed.
"Yes, you are the only two here," Diedrich continued in German in response to Mathew's question. "Unfortunately, this meeting cannot be delayed for too long. The others will have to be briefed at another point, if at all..." With another long sigh, he looked up and searched the two teenagers for a reaction. Though they both stood, Diedrich still did not move from his seat on the bench. "A little bird has told me the Soul Reapers are having a hollow problem," he chose his words carefully so that a Japanese word did not accidentally slip into his vocabulary. "And we are going to take a field trip to Soul Society to offer them a hand." Though Diedrich was tempted to tell them the full plan, he stopped with this explanation. If they knew the true motivation for going to Seireitei, they might blow their cover. He did not know whether they were completely and totally trustworthy yet. Besides, as one might say, any more information is 'above their pay grade'.
It had been quite some time, since the message was sent out for all the Quincy to come to Karakura Park, if they were not preoccupied with other important matters, that is. As the Quincy gathered, it appears that only two had heeded the call, sadly there were not too many Quincy to begin with, even the fact that two showed up was quite impressive. While the three commenced with the meeting, a tall, pale figure would be seen walking up behind the Diedrich. As he came closer, his features would begin to come into view. The figure was clearly a man, who looked to be in his early thirties or late twenties. The man had long white hair, which matched his pale skin and clothes, but his hair was not the only distinguishing feature about him. No, the most notable and quite interesting feature on him was his eyes, which consisted of two weird colors. His left eye was grey, which was odd in itself, but his right eye was an eerie red color, with some sort of blue object surrounding it. The man's clothes would look to have a little dirt on it, maybe perhaps the remnants of a battle or fight that he was in not too long ago. After a few minutes, the man would be directly behind Diedrich, he would look over at the other two there and nod, acknowledging them as his comrades. The man would then kneel down to the ground, he would then bow his head, "I am sorry for being so late, Lord Diedrich. There were a small group of hollows gathering on the outside of town, so I decided to deal with them before they got out of control. Please forgive me, for my being late." the man apologized as his voice was a very deep and cold tone. After apologizing, the man would look up at Diedrich, his weird right eye covered up by his hair, "I will be sure to arrive at the required time, in the future." he stated.
And the lecturing began! Praise the soul - Zelda did something wrong! Gyah, she arrived! Considering Zelda that was itself an accomplishment. Zelda rolled her eyes, she thought he should have been impressed with her attendance rather then annoyed with her tardiness. Ah well, he was old and cranky... End of that. Tilting her head she looked over to her Leader, "I'll keep that in mind... Your highness." She spouted sarcastically, mirroring his German accent. Lucky for Zelda another arrived before any argument could be made. Zelda could kick and scream, but she'd never win against Diedrich. Turning her attention to the young male Quincy, to which Zelda hadn't seen before, she smiled kindly. Ubber scary for those who understand her temperament. With a voice to fit her expression she yelled, "Hello! Hello!" But again before any conversation could begin it was killed by someone speaking up, that person being their Leader. Calming Zelda gazed down to the distant man in wonder, he had something important to say and Zelda felt it would be something fun. Zelda and violence went together better then Peanut Butter and Jelly.
Upon hearing the news of the Shinigami having an interesting problem Zelda could help the giggle and smile that crept into her face. "Really." Her tone was sly, she was certainly in. When it came to Soul Society, Zelda had no love. Maybe it was daddy issues or maybe it was just the way she was raised and trained. Either way she'd love to bring a little chaos to the world of the damned Soul Reapers. There was no way she'd be left behind. Clearly lost in a joyful thought, Zelda missed the sudden appearance of another Quincy Member. She'd seen the man before. They hadn't conversed much, but that didn't really matter. So long as he was loyal to the Vandenreich that was all she needed. Snapping back to reality, Zelda examined the male, scaling him head to toe then pointing towards him, "Your late!" Zelda wasn't one to talk - She was also late. But it wasn't going to stop her. She was just that kind of person. "100 Laps you Tardy b*****d."
A few seconds would pass as Damien had apologized to the Leader for his lateness and stated that for future gatherings he would arrive a quickly as he could. As he awaited his Lord's reply, Damien would hear one of the other Quincy speak up. Looking towards the direction of the voice he had heard, Damien would see a fairly young girl pointing at him. Looking over the girl, he would be able to deduce quite a few things about her. One would be that she was still in school, which is a given due to her still wearing her school uniform, but the one thing that he did notice about her, was her attitude and personality, which was completely opposite to his. She seemed to be the more aggressive and battle hungry type of person, while he was rather docile in nature and would try to avoid fighting unless given an order by the Leader himself, or had no other choice. After observing the girl for a few seconds, Damien would stand up and turn towards her.
As she ordered him to due 100 laps, Damien would look at her once more, but then almost instantly, he would close his eyes, "I am sorry, but the only orders I follow are those of Lord Diedrich." Damien would say as he would then walk so that he was standing in between her and the other Quincy there, so that the three were in line and facing the Leader. "Besides, you are still too young to be giving me orders." Damien wasn't the type to follow orders from just anyway, he would only listen to those that he saw as mature and strong, despite the girl's strength, she was still too far in age and personality to register as an equal in his eyes. With that said, Damien would open his eyes and look at the Leader.

Before Diedrich could continue, another man appeared behind him. He could sense him from afar, and was thus not surprised when Damien knelt before him in apology. Diedrich cast a quick eye over him, and already his soft old eyes began to burn in anger. In an attempt to not pass judgment too early, the old Quincy leader heard out his subordinate's explanation, but the more he explained the angrier Diedrich became. The glare cast upon Damien seemed to carry a weight--crushing, and almost suffocating--of disappointment and rage. With each word, the glare became heavier and heavier until Damien had finished. Diedrich took in a deep inhalation, followed by a deep exhalation. He did not immediately speak, and in the silence Zelda spoke first. The young Quincy was being her usual self, and while she ridiculed his tardiness, Diedrich had a moment to plan out his words, toss them over in his head, and think over what should be done.
After the two finished their back-and-forth, Diedrich took a deep breath to speak. "Every time a Quincy kills a hollow, the Soul Reapers know." His eyebrows furrowed while his eyes bore through Damien. "Quincy actually kill hollows. The Soul Reapers foolishly give them another chance. But this is all things you should know." His teeth ground together before he continued, "Every time you kill a hollow, you put the entirety of the Quincy at risk." Though not a shout, Diedrich's voice was powerful and booming in its own way. His harsh German only served to accentuate this fact. "There is no excuse for lateness, especially not the killing of hollows. In the position we find ourselves, one wrong move and we will relive the slaughter of thirty years ago." With a sigh, he removed his glasses to rub the bridge of his nose. "And don't wear that white uniform in public," Diedrich said as he replaced his glasses. "It attracts unwanted attention." True enough, those passing by were staring at his pure white uniform. Even more so as it was stained with ever the slightest amount of dirt.
Underneath all his criticisms, Diedrich was truly trying to help the Quincy. They all knew this, and hopefully would all respect it. "Continuing what I was saying earlier, we are going to help the Soul Reapers." His aged brown eyes looked over the faces of the present Quincy, making sure that they knew he was addressing all of them and had their attention. "It's something that has never happened before, but we are going to help them with their problem. Gain their trust and quell a threat that we cannot defeat on our own." This would be a controversial suggestion, and so he paused briefly to hear what the others had to say before he would continue.
Damien would watch and listen as Diedrich spoke to him. Hearing his words, Damien would bow down once more, as he heard Diedrich lecture him about killing the hollows, Damien would leave his head hanging, "My Lord, I did know that, but I never said that I had killed them. I merely stated that I dealt with them, I allowed for the hollows to remain alive, but I ensured that they would not be of any more concerns by tearing off each and every one of their limbs, save their legs. That way it will take some time before they start causing more trouble." Damien said as he continued looking down at the ground. "I'm sorry my Lord, I will not do such things again. The one thing I would want is to endanger the Quincy."
As Diedrich had finished speaking with him about his white uniform, Damien would nod in acknowledgement. "I am fully aware of that fact. Once we are done here, I will go and acquire more suitable attire." it was at that moment, that Damien heard Diedrich say that they would help the Soul Reapers. Hearing this, Damien would look up at his lord, "My Lord, you want us to form a sort of truce with the Soul Reapers and join forces?" he asked, as he would then pause for a second, "As I said when I first came to you, I am nothing more than a tool to be used and discarded by you, Lord Diedrich, I will not go against your orders or decisions. I will follow them no matter the consequences." Damien then stood up and stared into Diedrich's eyes.
Doing this Diedrich, would be able to see the hatred, and anguish in Damien's eyes. Even thought Damien chose to follow Diedrich's orders, he would not agree with them. Diedrich was asking Damien to team up with the same beings that were responsible for slaughtering his family and lover. Any reasonable person would clearly object to this, but not Damien, his loyalty to Diedrich was so strong that he was willing to do something that most would see as detesting and dishonorable. As he continued looking into Diedrich's eyes, Damien would then sigh and close his eyes, "Once we end this threat, what will become of this trust and peace that we formed with the Soul Reapers?" Damien asked, as if the answer was not the one he was expecting Diedrich to make, he would denounce him as the Leader and leave.
Zelda couldn't help the fit of laughter that escaped from her throat. She wasn't laughing at the proposal of entering Soul Society to help out the Shinigami, now she'd have something to say about that after, right now she was amused that Damien was being chewed out. It was expected for Zelda to be yelled at over something she'd done, but the proper prince got it first! It was priceless. Tears welled up in her eyes from her laughter. Yet another reason to draw attention. Small group gathering, man in a funny uniform sporting dirt and whatever else, and now a hysterically laughing girl. Seriously, they should just be holding up a sign saying 'Look at us!' Covering her mouth in attempts to stop, Zelda looked up and over to Damien, "You got in trouble! Nah Nah!" After dropping the last word she began to laugh again, but it didn't last. Her laughter quickly faded. With the backs of her hands she wiped the tears from her eyes. "Haha. Okie, I'm done." By pure habit Zelda accidentally dropped from speaking German to her Japanese dialect. She'd been in Japan to long. Oh well, she hadn't said anything special that would cause for alarm.
With a little energy drain Zelda got back down to business. She'd heard something very disturbing, if you will, about joining forces with the Shinigami. It was obviously a ploy - No, it had to be a ploy. Originally Zelda hoped they would be going to cause some trouble for the already in trouble Soul Reapers. That would have been enjoyable. The thought of having to help them was down right repulsive. She was sure she'd start vomiting any minute now still thinking about it. Unlike the others Zelda wasn't so formal, she'd speak her mind. Back to speaking German, Zelda spoke in a near calm but obviously held back anger, "What do you mean Help the Soul Reapers? Her fists clenched, knuckles cracking, "Have you gotten so old that you've gone senile! Stupid old man!?"

It seemed apparent that they were indeed going to question his motives. Though Damien did not say this, Diedrich could see it in his eyes. Zelda, on the other hand, was very open about her concerns. This was an expected outcome, but the old Quincy couldn't help but be a bit offended. They were questioning him, who had more reason to hate the Shinigami than any of them. His entire family--wife, son, fellow Quincy--were slaughtered by the Shinigami. The hatred he felt for the Shinigami were greater than any other hatred he could ever feel. Even towards hollows. Despite these feelings and thoughts Diedrich had, he kept his expression unreadable. "Our alliance with the Soul Reapers will not last through the end of this threat. The Shinigami would bury the souls of the hollows--whom I believe are behind their strife--but they must die. Only Quincy can kill them, and the Soul Reapers would not allow us to do so." He sighed slightly and adjusted his collar slightly. "At the moment, the Soul Reapers have more numbers and resources than we, and if we gain their trust we may have access to whatever information they have already gathered. Not to mention the combined force of the Soul Reapers and Quincy will surely weaken the enemy enough for us to deliver the final blow."
After saying this, Diedrich stood, dropping the butt of his cigarette and grinding it into the dirt with his boot. His wary eyes looked over the three Quincy before he continued, "You all know that the Stern Ritter unit was created by Lord Juha Bach for the purpose of destroying the Soul Reapers. That has not changed in any of the shifts of power within Vandenreich." Diedrich allowed a pause before continuing, trying to ensure that they all understood what he was getting at. Whether they did or not, Diedrich finished his thought: "Our alliance with the Soul Reapers will end with their heads rolling on their damned floors. Understand?" Carefully, Diedrich adjusted the collar of his coat so that it pressed against the back of his neck, covering the bottom of his shoulder-length grey hair. From behind his glasses, Diedrich's brown eyes danced over the faces of those in the park. The innocents. That was who the Quincy were originally intended to protect, but so much had changed in these few centuries. Protecting to vengeance. But none of these Quincy had known anything else. Not since Vandenreich attacked Soul Society all those years ago.
Once more, Diedrich sighed and turned to the other Quincy. "Zelda, Mathew, change into your Vandenreich uniform and return here upon completion." Then, he turned to Damien. "Damien, I must have a word with you." Given what had happened, this would probably seem like Diedrich was going to scold Damien again. However... there was more to the plan than Diedrich was willing to tell Zelda and Mathew. But he had to tell someone, and Damien was one of his most trusted Stern Ritter. After all, if no one knew what he was doing, he would seem mad.
Before Diedrich would explain himself for wanting to ally with the Soul Reapers, Damien would hear the laughter and mocking of the pink haired girl. It would seem that she was enjoying the fact that he had been yelled at and scolded by the Leader for his earlier actions. Listening to her, Damien would seem to be unaffected by her rather loud and obnoxious laughing, which would no doubt, draw attention to the four of them there. Once she was done, Damien would close his eyes, seemingly brushing off her attempts to make him feel bad for himself or down, but obviously it did not work. With his eyes closed, Damien would then utter a few words to the young girl beside him, "Your laughter is very unladylike." he would say as he then heard her question Lord Diedrich's decision to join the Soul Reapers.
As the girl opposed Diedrich's decision, Damien would merely stand there and listen as she would then clench her fists and insult the Lord, something that would have resulted in Damien killing her, but he chose to remain idle and let the Leader handle the situation. Once the girl voiced her obviously hate for the idea of joining together with the Soul Reapers, the Leader would finally speak up. Listening to Diedrich's explanation of his plans and intentions, Damien would open his eyes, just as Diedrich mentioned that the Stern Ritter's purpose, which was the destruction of the Soul Reapers, had not changed since it was first formed. Hearing this made Damien think about why he joined the Stern Ritter, and the swelling hatred he had in his heart. Once Diedrich finished explaining himself, Damien would kneel to the ground, as Diedrich would state that he wanted a word with him. "As you wish, my Lord." Damien said as he looked up at Lord Diedrich. Looking into the old man's eyes, Damien expected him to scold him some more, which he was fully prepared for.

Mathew stood there the whole time keeping a vigilant eye around the park while listening to what the others had to say. People stared weird towards them but that could be thanks to the German that they spoke to each other. When the other guy showed up Mathew threw a short and cold leer towards the new guy but returned to be on guard quite quickly. He always was very careful if it goes to meeting people as he trusts no one, not even the other quincies. So far the only one he really trusts is his mother but this old man has some interesting things to say and don’t seem to have goals to benefit himself alone. He raised an eyebrow when the old man mentioned going to the soul society to help the shinigami. ”what!? Is he mad!!! Helping those sword wielding goons. What could he been up to?“ Mathew thought looking slightly shocked. He knew there has to be something up to it that he doesn't tell for there is no way the Quincy would voluntarily help the shinigami without gaining something from it.
Mathew got really annoyed by the girl’s hyperactive carefree attitude as she was mocking the new guy and eventually the old man. ”for the love of… argg… can you please“ Mathew tried to say to Zelda when the old man interrupted him and gave some more information about the real motive of the ‘temporary’ alliance with the soul society. A smirk appeared on Mathew’s face as he could see the tactical advantage of the plan, even though he still felt that the old man keeps information from Zelda and him. ”impressive. I can see you really gave thought to this plan gramps“ he said and laughed ”I feared you got soft“ he said laughing and turned around as he got the order to go get into his vandenreigh uniform. ”as you wish mein Führer“ he said before walking off towards the outskirts of town where his house was.
