【.Background Information.】
Vincent grew up in a moving circus. He doesn't have any memories of his parents. He was told that they didn't want him. That they left him at the circus when he was very young. No matter, he loved his life in the circus. Everyone there was one large, odd family. He was able to see and preform in many places in his traveling. The person he saw as his father was the circus magician called Andromalius, his real name was Castor Faust. Vincent soon adopted his last name and calling himself Vang claiming it was his new stage name. He became good friends with a boy a year older than he was named Ivan. Ivan was a clown. He was really good at juggling and balancing at the same time. Vang enjoyed preforming with both his father, Castor, and Ivan. He was able to learn from the both of them. One day, the knife thrower, Remus, approached him urging him to try his hand at throwing knives. Vang agreed without hesitation. After Remus demonstrated a couple times, Vang grabbed a knife, looked at the target, let out a deep breath, then threw it. It hit dead center. They were both stunned silent. To make sure it wasn't beginner's luck, he threw a couple more and they all hit the target. He looked up at Remus dumbstruck and he returned the look mutually. Then Remus had Vang demonstrate to the Ringmaster. He was impressed as told Vang to continue training with Remus. When he told Castor, he said he was proud of his but to still preform with him as his assistant. Vang agreed. A few months later, Castor had a serious talk with him. He told Vang that since he didn't know who his real parents were, that it was still possible that he could be a bender and since he wasn't a bender himself, he didn't know how to figure out if he was. Vang disagreed saying that if he was, he'd would have bent something by now. Castor just shrugged and said he was still young and he might actually be a bender. Vang just shook his head and left.
Years went by and Vang continued doing a variety of acts. He not once was he able to bend anything. Tragedy struck on his eleventh birthday. In the middle of the night, there was an attack on the circus. Vang didn't know why or what was happening. He was shook awake by his father. He could hear the sound of yelling outside their tent clearly. They ran outside to see the attackers were a large group of a variety of benders. Castor said they were bandits. They both began fighting them off they best they could. Vang used his throwing knives to hit them in the arms and legs never missing. Castor ran out of sight. Vang was holding up pretty well until an earthbender fastened his feet to the ground then someone knocked him over from behind. As soon as his hands hit the ground, the earthbender fastened his hands too. He squirmed desperately trying to break free but he knew his efforts were in vain. He looked around to see his circus fantasy falling all around him. His arms and legs were bound and he was dragged as a captive through the aftermath. He was dropped in front of the Ringmaster. He could see Castor on his knees behind him. Vang shouted for his father then was immediately struck in the back of his head by the man holding him. Then the bandit leader appeared and said they would be taking Vang as a prize along with other children and women. The Ringmaster remained silent. However, Castor shouted in protest saying they could take whatever they wanted but not Vang and the others. The bandit leader just smirked and ignored his offer. Then a man proceeded to beat Castor. Vang watched in horror as his father was being beat senseless. He couldn't take it anymore. He screamed at the top of his lungs then flames came from his fists. This suprised him but he didn't give himself time to process what this meant. He burned through his rope bindings and jumped onto the man catching his shirt on fire then started hitting the man in the head. It wasn't long until he was pulled off. He struggled violently reaching out for his father. Then he was hit in the back of the neck and blacked out.
He woke up dazed and lying on the floor. He looked around and saw a young man. He tried to get up and attack him but found that his arms and legs were bound with stone. He shouted and cursed at the man yelling at him for destroying his home and hurting his family. He yelled at him for taking him away instead of leaving him there to morn with them. The man finally said he was a captive too from another raid. Vang quickly apologized the laid in silence. The young man said he was sixteen, a waterbender, and his name was Kotu. Kotu didn't want to talk about what happened to him so Vang didn't ask. They didn't say much to eachother. Then they were taken from then room they were locked in. They were brought before the bandit leader. On sight, Vang glowered. The leader said that they would be working for him now. Vang immediately spat at him. The Leader paid no regard then went on to say that they would be fighting for him. Vang protested but was ignored. Their harsh training began.
The leader favored Vang. He was thirteen now and always followed his orders to the letter. He was trained for descrete combat. Vang adopted an emotionless exterior on his missions and in the leader's presence. His ability to bend was poor. He was able to make fire and eventually lightning, but had no skill when it came to attacking with it. It didn't matter though because bending was too flashy for what he did. He became good friends with Kotu who would be his partner in these missions. At age fourteen, Vang began his training as an assassin. He did fairly well at this. He successfully created a variety a poisons that he made sure to build up an immunity to. Then he did it. On the eve of his fifteen birthday and anniversary of his home's destruction, he assassinated his leader in his sleep. When he was done he had placed a cake in the room and lit a candle. Once the clock said it was his birthday, he smiled, blew out the candle, ate a small slice of cake, then left. He never wanted to see that place again.
He is now a wandering street performer and he is happier than he had ever been after the loss of his paradise. He still trains and practices his skills for combat as a hobby. He still wishes to see his family again.
