Name: Holiday Jones
Nicknames: (if any) "Holi"/ "Ice Queen"
Age: 19 (now 20)
Birthday: December 25
Sign: Capricorn
Blood Type: AB
Fav. Food: Chocolate. Then again... chocolate. Possibly chocolate.
Hated Food: FRUIT CAKE. Born on Christmas, Holi resents the holiday at large, and like most people, isn't fond of this heavy, 'fruity' brick.
School: Sovereign Heights H.I.T.S.
Hobbies:
-Candy Making: With her deep passion for a really good chocolate (and she'll inform you quite haughtily that HERSHEY'S is absolutely not really good chocolate... ((Although she does admit it makes terribly cute accessories.)) it only made sense for Holi to invest time and energy into trying to make it herself. Not only does it mean fewer trips, but she can customize pieces and flavors to suit her whim, without wondering 'are there any left in stock'?
To the potential detriment of her friends waistlines, she also likes to share. Just don't ask her for Christmas themed candy, that's a pet peeve, otherwise she'll happily take requests, though if she gets too tight on money, expect to be asked to pay for the supplies. She'll be sure to provide a receipt to prove she's not cheating you.
-Reading Manga: She likes to insist she's somewhat exclusive, no she hasn't read Fruits Basket, but she guiltily admits to Prince of Tennis and Ouran Host Club, but her true 'dark secret' is the stash of Yaoi and Yuri comics in her closet. She's even bought the books for the web comic 'Teahouse'... and the cell phone charm. The one with the unicorn... and Mercutio... and no she won't let you have a closer look.
Wannabe seamstress: One thing Holi wishes she could do without making the experience into a slightly useless blood donation, is sew. She's seen some of the incredible modifications one of Destiny Cities more... gothic... residents (Ume McDougall) has created, though she's a little too proud to actually approach her to...oh... ask for help... but she tries. Holi has probably done more horrible things to used clothing than a shredding machine. ((Ume ref oked by Ende))
Gemstone: Garnet
Virtues:
Sharing is Caring- Although she hates to admit to ever needing help, Holi loves to use her skills in the service of others, especially if it happens to include candy making, her favorite hobby. Got a friend who's down? Sounds like a perfect excuse for her to whip up a batch of super cute little chocolate mice with marzipan centers, or decadent sea-salt caramel... or maybe fudge... or all of the above! Chocolate makes everything better, right?
Assertive Holi may look like a delicate porcelain flower, but one of the traits she also shares with porcelain is that while brittle in some regards, she's also quite strong. She's prepared to be the one who stands up and says what everyone is thinking when they're too nervous to say it, and she's equally prepared to deal with the consequences. When it comes to physical hand to hand, she'll need her share of backup, but socially she can dig in her heels with the best of them.
Motherly An branch off of her assertiveness, or maybe it's the other way around, Holi doesn't like to see what she considers to be 'good' people unhappy, and she'll try and make it better if she can. She'll be the listening ear, the sage advice if possible, and the provider of mood-food, and the voice of the 'oppressed'.
Flaws:
-Proud: If she can possibly avoid it, Holi won't ask for help, and just confronting the idea that she might need to can be akin to realizing she needs to have a tooth pulled... without painkillers. Her ice queen nickname isn't for nothing, and admitting publicly that she's just not capable of something she really thought she could do can reduce her cold facade to angry tears, much to her humiliation. Her reluctance to ask also makes her particularly bristly, making it harder for many to sympathize with her frustration.
-Clap if you don't believe in Fairies: Maybe it's just that she spent so much time being inundated in people insisting that she of all people should be the embodiment of the Christmas Spirit, but Holi is a cynic. She's the first to look for wires in a magicians trick, and she scoffs at people who do believe in such things, usually quite openly.
Her world view has been badly shaken by her time in the Surrounding, and she's struggling hard to come to terms with the idea that magic, well... some magic exists, at least in so far as her inability to explain what she's seen with any kind of technology. She grudgingly accepts it's existence among the powered residents of Destiny City, but don't expect her to go trying to photograph fairies with you. That's STILL stupid.
Keep your Fandom over THERE: Christmas nuts are annoying enough, but Potter-fanatics... and *shudder* TWILIGHT fans, squealing over glitter covered stalkers... Holi can't -stand- super rabid fans. It's one thing to enjoy your favorite series, but if you're so obsessed that you can quote the number of nose hairs the guy who played your favorite character displayed in his close up... you're way... way... too obsessed and you need to move away. Preferably quickly... because she's looking for the hose. Oh and she might have the number for the local psychiatric ward somewhere... here she'll write it down for you.
She's equally impatient with people who insist that they're "otakin" to certain characters, or that they have magical invisible body parts like wings and tails to contend with, and it's probably wiser not to bring these phantom body parts up unless you'd like her to ask, with caustic sarcasm, for you to demonstrate your powers of flight.
