As he walked in the rough mountainous area, Mirie was finding himself a little out of breath. He had spent most of the day traveling. Looking back on it, he realized that was his first major mistake. He should have known better. His front right paw was trembling every time he put just a little weight on it. When he had woken up that morning his paw had felt like it had finally healed up properly. When he found he could properly walk on it with out a limp he decided that today would be the day he would travel far enough to find someone or something. Lately he found little to no prey to hunt. He remembered back when he used to travel with others, how easy it was to split up to find food. By himself though it was difficult to hunt.
He found a some what flat spot to rest. Carefully he laid down in a ball like shape. He wish he hadn't traveled so far in one go. It was a rather stupid choice on his part. Typically he would have weighed the pros and cons before heading out. This time though he didn't. The excitement of his leg healing overtook him and he decided to travel as far as he could. At the time he was certain that today he would find something other than rocks and prey animals.
His luck had never been good, he thought reflecting back on previous events. When luck did show its face something terrible would always happen soon after. When he found his friend Leenah-Sesi he thought he was the luckiest wild dog around. However soon he was engaged in a fight with Leenah's mate. The fight led to him falling down the cliff. No one was around to save him. For a while he was stranded there completely helpless. It had taken him a long time to climb back up the cliff.
After his rest he gently got back up and started to walk some more. He swore he could hear the trickling sound of water coming down the mountain side. He would be most grateful to get some cool water running down his throat. It had felt like ages since he last had water. He continued toward the sound of the water.

 Isabis was becoming somewhat depressed. Her pack was falling apart, food was becoming harder to get, and her three pups had grown without a father. Well, atleast her three little ones had grown into wonderful adults. That aspect atleast had cheered her up immensely. Isabis currently wandered around the rogue lands in search of food, a thing she had been doing a lot lately. She continued in her thoughts about her children. The thing that somewhat disturbed her was that her youngest and only daughter was in love with a leopard. But who was she to rain on her daugthers life as long as she was happy that was all that mattered to Isabis.
It was midday and still no sign of prey. Isabis flicked her tail with frustration, she was a den digger not a hunter she pouted at the thought. The hilly area she had been walking on was slowly turning into flat lands. She eyed the area wearily with ears and tail down. Dangerous in settings, one could easily be target for all sorts of things.

At last he reached a small stream that led to a pond. Mirie bent down and took a couple gulps of water. He enjoyed the coolness of the water rushing down his throat. As he took a drink he noticed a couple small fish swimming about the pond. He let out a sigh of relief. He had begun thinking that there was no prey around and that he would have to go even longer without eating.
He was having terrible luck trying to catch the fish with his paws. His injured paw made it difficult to swipe at the fish. Instead he decide to try and catch with his mouth. He realized that he must be a funny sight for any on lookers, seeing him bob his head into the pound, trying to catch fish with his mouth. It was working though. Next to him were three fish flapping around on the ground that he caught.
He decided that would be enough for now. He laid down next to his catch. Than he spotted at a distance a wild dog. His ears perked up with interest. During his travels he had little to no interaction with others. He couldn't decide what to do. His first instinct was to run away. He realized how stupid that would be though. Not only would he be unable to out run the other wild dog, he would also lose his only meal.
After thinking on it he decided to go with a different, more friendlier approach. "Hello there," he called out as loud as his voice would let him. When he spoke his voice cracked from lack of use. "I have some fish here if you would like a snack!" He watched the other dog to see how she reacted. Tara de Draiocht Tag! Yeah he is very much a sweetheart. I feel so bad cause he's my first SoA and I haven't rped him much.

The faint trickling of water caught her attention and made her ears twitch. That was a good sign atleast. Water meant fish and fish meant satisfying her current feeling of hunger. At first she didn't see the male purple wild dog lounging on the ground near the edge but his words made her start a little. "Oh, why hello there to you as well." She blinked her dark red eyes as she took him in. His offer of sharing made Isabis perk up happily and wag her tail. Back home there were sometimes meal shared so the concept of others giving food away wasn't too unheard of. "Why, thank you. I will gladly accept your kind offer! I was almost at my wits end trying to find something to munch on. I missed morning meal." She leaned down to take a delicate bite. She wrinkled her nose cutely and stuck out her tongue a little when she bit into something bitter. Ignoring the fleeting taste she continued to eat as one couldn't be too picky about food.
"That hit the spot," Isabis let out a contented sigh as she left more than half of the fish incase the male was hungry as well. " I am Ancientheart it is very nice to meet you!" She gave out her PekeNa wolf name holding back on her real name for now. Isabis eyed him curiously. The marking on his shoulder was quite lovely and she noted the way he held his front paw. "Are you alright?" She gestured with concern to part in question.

"I know the feeling. I've been missing meal for a while now." He was thankful that she was closer and he didn't have to raise his voice. "I am very thankful for this little stream. I don't know how much longer I could have walked." He took a couple bites of his fish. It was good to get some food in his stomach. He glanced at the pond debating if he wanted to try and catch a couple more fish or not. Occasionally he would glance up at her to see how she was doing. When she wrinkled her nose he did a soft chuckle to himself.
"It is nice to meet you too Ancientheart. My name is Mirie." With the question about if he was alright, he glanced down at his paw. "I am fine. It's just an old injury. I was hoping it would be better by now. I haven't been as gentle on it as I ought to. All my traveling is making it worse I think."
Carefully he made a circle motion with his paw to stretch it out a bit. "It will be fine in a few days time I am sure of it. Until than I should probably rest. Do you know of any decent resting areas around? Somewhere quiet and remote. If I can find a good spot, I should be able to dig out a den for myself."

"Oh," Her ears drooped a bit at the thought of multiple occasions of no food. At first she hadn't noticed the timber of his voice and how it cracked every now and then. Now she was beginning to realize it could have been cause by lack of use. "Mirie." She tested it on her tongue before nodding. "I like it, it rolls off the tongue. Oh I see." She eyed it curiously and debated before going ahead to give advice. "I know of a healing paste, it smells something awful but since we are near water... we can easily wash it off. I learned the recipe from an old warrior when I first moved into PekeNa lands, it helps soothe the muscles. It is up to you if you'd like to try it." Isabis smiled to let him know there would be no pressure if he were to reffuse. "Well! I do know of a few places that would be well suited to your needs. Plus, the pack I live in... well I am an offical den digger so I wouldn't mind helping out such a handsome fella." Isabis winked saucily. "Free of charge for a bit of company. I haven't chatted with anyone in ages it seems."

"Healing paste? I've never tried that before. It is worth a shot. What material do we need for the paste?" He had learned a little about healing during his travels, though he had never learned how to do it himself. It was something he regretted. Even if the paste didn't work at least he tried. He wouldn't worry too much about the smell.
"Thank you for your help. It is very generous. Even though you say free of charge would very much like to return the favor at some point when I get better." He wasn't used to others being kind to him. It was a nice change of pace. For once he didn't have to always feel on guard, like someone was going to attack him at any moment. "But for now I will do my best to keep you company." Tara de Draiocht Tag! And no worries. I am going pretty slow myself.

"Yes," Isabis nodded in affirmation as she listened to the male speak. "The paste is in the form of grounded herbs, water, and other things in the form of a paste. When it touches fur it reacts in a helpful manner." She blinked and leaned closer. A small smile spread across her face at his offer for repayment. " Very well, if it will make things right between us then I accept your future favour. Wait one moment please. I will be right back."
Isabis got up and made her way back to where she had deposited her travel bag. She never left home without it for instances like these ones. Bending down she picked it up and trotted back towards Mirie. "There we go." Humming a tune she used to sing to her pups she began to bring out all the things she needed to provide care. In no time the paste was made and she gave warning before putting it on. "It is going to heat up pretty quickly. Don't worry it only lasts for a few seconds, it is an indication that the paste is working." She smiled before gently applying onto his achey paw.
Club Snails Tag! Okay, that's alright. Things are looking a bit better now. My grandpa woke up today/ate, it was good considering... But its better; for now.

Mirie nodded as she explained the paste. "I'll wait her patiently," he said with a grin as she left. While she was gone Mirie decided he would catch a couple more fish. He was able to catch another fish before she got back. He set the fish down and laid back down.
As she made the paste, Mirie watched in silence listening to her hum. "That's a very pretty tune you are humming." He stated. It had been a long time since he heard any sort of music other than the twitting of birds.
When the paste was applied to his paw, he instantly tensed up despite the warning. Once the heat was gone he allowed himself to relax. "Sorry about that." he muttered. He had never been able to handle pain or heat well. He did try his hardest not to react, but he couldn't help it. Tara de Draiocht Tag! I hope he's doing okay.

"Why thank you," She softly smiled at the thought of her cubs as she washed away the rest of the paste on her front paws. "That little tune was used to get my pups to sleep. They are all grown now." Her ears drooped a little as she missed how little they had once been. Out the corner of her eye she saw his tensing and reaction. Isabis placed a paw on his shoulder " Please, don't trouble yourself. We all react to pain in our own way. You did pretty good-" She winked. "- another wild dog I knew reacted by screaming bloody murder. Phew, were my ears ringing afterwards!"
Isabis stretched a little with a small groan before laying down on the grass. "Might as well make yourself comfortable Mirie, it takes a bit for that to dry and you should be feeling the affects now." It was days like these that made life enjoyable. The weather was nice and she had good company. It had been so long since she had just a simple chat. "And I see you caught more fish. Smart thinking, always good to have something for later~"

"Your pups were lucky to have you. You are a very caring." He looked down at his paw. When she mentioned about her previous patient he laughed quietly. "I promise I won't scream. I don't think I could even if I wanted to. For the most part I think I am a fairly quiet patient."
It wouldn't be hard to relax here. There was no danger around that he could tell. Plus it would be a nice change of pace to just relax instead of fretting. "I thought we might be here for a while and so I thought it might be helpful to catch a fish. In a little bit I will try and catch some more." His paw was already feeling less achy now and he thought it wouldn't be long till the majority of the pain was gone. Tara de Draiocht Tag! I never actually heard of Tiger Balm before.

"Why thank you, and I am lucky to have in my life." She grinned and laughed a little. "Oh, well that is good to know for the sake of my ears then." She spoke knowning she sounded somewhat corny. She dug into the earth enjoying the feel of the dirt between her paw pads as her tail thumped the ground every now and then showing her contentment. "Good, good. I agree and I can help catch some fish as well. I can show you my hunting skills lacking though they are at times." She yawned and felt her eyelids drooping. The warm sun felt good on her fur, it gave sleepy-vibes. "For now lets just take a nap and go from them." They had plenty of time, thought as she eyed Mirie with interest.
Maybe he will stick around for a bit. Isabis thought as she cuddled up to the male enjoying his scent and company. That would be nice. She fell to sleep with images of purple, red, and pink pups playing on rocks.
