Katori is a very practical man, he treats his Pokemon well but at the same time, he likes to pit them against strong opponents to make them fight and get stronger themselves. He has a problem with drinking, he tries hard and often goes long periods without any alcohol at all but there are times when he fails. During these times he can be somewhat neglectful of his Pokemon but he feels horrible about it when he's sober, he often will battle until his pokemon are exhausted and/or hurt, only then does he seem to realise, in a drunken haze, that he needs to snap out of it. Recently Katori has given up Alcohol for good (or until he relapses again) and he released all of his Pokemon, wanting to give them some peace and a good life after their rotten time with him but Katori is a very lonely man and is unlikely to be too long without a Pokemon in his life, perhaps this time he won't drink again and he can be good to Pokemon once more. He's slowly coming to the conclusion that he's not REALLY a bad man, just one that's made a lot of mistakes that he is always trying to redeem himself from. He now has several Companion Pokemon, including the son of his arcanine IceFyre, as well as a battling Cyndaquil (who didn't give him much choice in the matter) and he is determined to take damn good care of them.
