"We recognize your ssscent," Mahir's shadowy arms whirled and snapped at Malodore like snakes, the claws threatening to slash and puncture. Only a few of the flurry managed to do anything. "You are like usss. You mend, you heal. You give your FEAR willingly. Sssurely you can underssstand what mussst be done." The real signs of insanity were on his hands, or what remained of them. Insanity flaked off of the remaining skin like ashes, dissolving away in the wind. Stony grey had impeded the reformation of his hands, and the skeleton was blackened by repeated failure to cure himself. It would have to be agonizing, in any other circumstance. OOC  MAHIR is targeting MALODORE! (Quote them please) at the bottom too, and roll your dice mechanics. Malodore's gaze narrowed behind the lenses. A horseman, yes - and of Famine, it was fairly sure, though not one it had met before. The Insanity flowed freely from his hands, and though the plague doctor was able to evade the horseman's grasp fairly easily, it knew the creature was powerful... " Si, I mend, I heal - but I cannot do so if you strike me down," it said, trying to remain reasonable. The last time it had encountered Insanity - oh no, no, no. It would not think about Riley rearing up against the sky, striking down, turning to stone- no. It could not happen. She wasn't here. She was safe. If it had had a heartbeat, it would have sounded like drums. "I am Malodore - I am of Halloween! Save your fury for those who wounded you," it repeated. holding its hands up in a neutral gesture. Ashford stumbled upon the duo, his breath a quiet rasp.
"We must find it," he hissed, growling, snarling.
"Do you know where it is? Where we may seek it?"
The reaper was oblivious to his cordial relationship with Malodore, unaware of anything but the needing, burning urge to find IT.
They were MISSING SOMETHING.
"WE MUST KNOW."
He slammed his blade upon the ground, trying to pry the information from the stranger with a layer of guilt, focusing in on the plague doctor with a needling intensity. Malodore reared back, wings flaring as a sudden wave of emotion slammed into it - guilt, crushing, wrenching. You didn't save her. You didn't protect her. You can't save anyone.
Can't save anyone-" Silencio!" it shouted, clapping its hands over its ears. As if that would help. It stared at Ashford, at the grey shining over the reaper's body. He was weak, wobbling... close. Oh, perhaps he was close to... but did it dare try? Now? How cold, how cruel... and yet... Its hands trembled with indecision. OOC Malodore is targeting Ashford! The horseman turned his eyes to the curious newcomer, Malodore seemingly forgotten. Under the surface the guilt was stirring, that he had been too distracted, too self-absorbed to save - to save his - Home.Instantly he lashed out with several claw-tipped arms, trying to draw blood, FEAR, to feed the hunger both within and without.
