It was a rough day, so far. Crouching low in the tall, thin grass, paws pressing firmly, but silently, against the dry, grainy dirt terrain, Heiko trained his light rose colored orbs on his prey, not daring to move a muscle as the head of the gazelle lifted, sniffing the air, ears twitching about. This would be his prey to stalk of the day. The thought irritated him, causing his tail to twitch only the slightest bit. The gazelle twitched. Heiko stilled his movements. His fur was warm against his body as the sun bared down on him though, he wasn't bothered in the least bit. This was normal weather and if the need to feed hadn't occurred, he would have chosen a nice, flat rock to laze about on, bathing in the heat.
The gazelle, seeming to think it was safe, lowered it's head to resume grazing on the grass. The male jaguar took his time, eyes watching closely for body signs. He took a cautious step forward. He was not yet in pouncing distance. His first attempt of hunting of the day was clearly his fault. He had been too impatient to wait, too much in a hurry to sink his teeth into the black and white flesh of the zebra. The other two times, however, the wind had changed directions, coincidentally give his prey a nose full of his scent. It took all he could to not growl at the reminder of that as he pressed the thoughts to the back of his mind, taking a few steps forward.
He was now close enough to jump. Crouching down low, his muscles bunches up and tensed, he was just about to spring forward when, suddenly, two more gazelle galloped out from behind a cropping of rocks, alarming his current target into motion. Heiko, quite aware that his food was getting away once again, let out a snarl and pounced, just missing the gazelle. Unwilling to give up, he set after it, legs thundering against the ground. His neck stretched forward as he gained more ground, shortening the distance between him and the galloping antelope. He almost had it. He pressed harder against the ground, pouncing, claws fully unsheathed and with full intent to sink them within the flanks of the hoofed animal. His mouth fell open in preparation to bite down on anything he could get a hold of. Heiko felt his claws just barely graze the warm backside before dirt and dust was kicked up into his face, a hoof catching him in the jaw.
Slightly stunned, the jaguar was forced to stop his pursuit and, after working his mouth several times, let out an angry growl as he realized that once again, his prey had gotten away. Muttering under his breath, he glowered his eyes in the direction of the gazelle, who had gained too much ground to even consider continuing the hunt, before. Heiko let out a sigh then, shaking his white and pink furred body, before trotting back to the rock cropping. He would take a small break. His irritation was obviously getting to him and, if he didn't calm down, it would be a day before he would catch anything. Lopping back to the rocks, he hopped up to a spot with just a bit of shading before stretching out upon the rough surface. He would relax until the sun reached high in the sky, he promised himself.

Despite how hot it was, Raaze still had his fur around his neck. He liked to think it was part of him, giving him a slightly more fluffy look about him. He was sort of vane when it came to looks, but generally he didn't care one way or another. He flicked his tail, not giving a damn at all. He had seen a gazelle run past him only moments ago. Bright red blood on its a**. It had suggested, perhaps that it had just gotten away from something horrible.
He raised his eye brow and decided to go in the direction it had come from. He didn't bother trying to catch the gazelle, as it had seen him before he had seen it. Not that he was hungry anyways, he had a bit of a snack before moving hours ago. Enough to keep him settled for a few more hours. The only thing that lingered now was curiosity. He was determined to see what had lost it's meal. Not that he'd really wanted to communicate with someone. That didn't stop the curiosity that was building up.
He had imagined that whatever it was, it was small. The dark brown leopard nodded with agreeing with his thoughts. Sometimes they were all he had to talk to. Perhaps that made him crazy, but at least he didn't talk to himself when he was in front of others. A frown crossed his face as he got closer, it smelled like another leopard, though he could be mistaken. Wasn't the first time he had mistaken another feline for one. He always hoped it was a leopard, but eh... what could you do?

Heiko rolled over on his back, staring up at the clouds unwavering, and was just about to doze when the noise reached his ears. His nose twitched. Something was close by... Really close. Scowling, he rolled over onto his side before sniffing lightly in the air, ears fluttering to catch more sounds. Smelling the faint odor of a leopard, he gathered his feet underneath him, crouching low. Inching across the hot stone, the male feline peered over the edge, light rose orbs zeroing in on the other feline.
He was, at first, very impressed by the fur wrap around his neck, though a logical part of him critiqued that it was much to hot for that accessory. His eyes then took in the rest of the leopard, marveling over the markings before frowning and looking at the wrap again. He really did like it.
Deciding it was high time to make an introduction and to inquire why the male had trekked over to this specific crop of rock, he hopped down onto a lower rock before landing on the hard, cracked ground. Heiko's eyes regarded the other with suspicion and it was quite clear by the way he kept his back well guarded that he didn't trust the others intentions. In the Rogue Lands, that could certainly lead to wounds or worse. After observing for another moment, he finally inclined his head in greeting, eyes trained on the other steadily.
"Is there something you want?" He blurted out and immediately bit his tongue on how rude his tone was. He didn't want to come off as mean. He was cautious, yes, but he had manners. And yet, at the present moment, it seem to have deserted him. He decided to make amends for what he said by showing some hospitality. "Erm... nice fur wrap." He commented lamely, ears going down at his sudden awkwardness and decided to hurrily add, "Isn't it a bit too hot, though?"

There was many things that Raaze wanted, but nothing that this male could give him. Raaze wasn't about to say that to him though. He didn't want to start stuff, at least, not when things had just begun. Then again, the last male he had met did try to get with him. It wasn't something he wanted to experience again. He flicked is tail and eyed him for a moment, hoping that perhaps things wouldn't be how they had gone in the past. Though, he couldn't let that stop him from getting acquainted with others.
"No, not really" He simply said. He was one of few words."I suppose I'm just use to this being on that I forget about it." he said honestly. Perhaps it would have been more hot than it was to him if he had just put it on. Though, it seemed about normal to him. He wanted to say it wasn't a wrap, but than he'd just be fooling himself. Sometimes he wore it mostly because it scared others away thinking he was some type of weird lion. It worked from time to time. It seemed he didn't need to meet those scary paws anyways.
"It's like if you had something heavy on, after a while, you wouldn't realize it was there until someone pointed it out." he shrugged. "So, was that your Gazelle then?"

What a strange leopard... Heiko stared at him blankly for a while, disbelief etching across his features when the darker male stated it wasn't hot. "Uh-huh..." He really couldn't stop the skeptic look that crossed his face; he was sweating in his own fur and he was expected to believe the other wasn't sweating under two?
Flexing his claws, he frowned at the aches. Today had been too long and the distances too far. His ears perked up at a bit of noise and he swung his head in the general direction, ears folding as he spotted more gazelle galloping off. Damn beast... Heiko's ears perked back up as the leopard spoke spoke again and he swung his attention back to his sudden company. "Mmm, I wouldn't know. I don't usually carry things on me." He gave the pelt an appraising look once more.
He was about to look else where once more, hoping to spot some prey, when the darker feline commented on the gazelle, startling Heiko. Abashed, he sputtered for a moment, tripping over words to try and explain it. "Yes, well the noise- It had been a long- Damn sensitive hearing- Gah. Yeah. But it got a way." Heiko shook his head in frustration before suddenly grinning, flashing off his pearly whites. "You wouldn't happen to know where a waterhole would be? I'm new to this particular part. I usually stay near where I had called home and well... Change of scenario." Heiko stopped rambling, frowning. Was it necessary for him to blurt out an explaination?
Goodness, the heat was getting to him, it seemed. "I'm Heiko, by the way." He paused, waiting for a name to go with the darker stranger.

Raaze had a feeling the other didn't quite believe him. He supposed he hadn't been in the places Raaze had ventured. This heat was almost nothing to compare to, but he left that bit of information out. He didn't care if the other believed him or not, it wasn't really his style. He just grunted and shrugged at the male's answer.
Great, he was dealing with a tourist. A frown crossed his face more than the usual one. He wasn't really sure if he should help this male, but he felt a little obligation to do so. IT wasn't part of his fortay, but sometimes he couldn't help it. Sometimes he found himself caring far more than he should ever let out. At least, considering his choices in life.
"I suppose I could show you where one is." He said almost as if not wanting to say it. It came out before he could really decide if he wanted to help, but... now it seemed he had no choice. Damn mouth sometimes didn't know when to not say a damn thing. No matter, he'd deal with this and then go as soon as it was over. Then he couldn't say he ever associated with this other. The sooner, the better... "Raaze," he said. Great, now he's telling the other his name? Oh well, it wasn't like he knew anyone around these parts anyways. He couldn't always be the way he was expected to be. Sometimes you just ended up doing things you were less likely to do. He let out a sigh, he could tell this was going to be a bit of a battle with himself.

Well, he’s a happy one. Heiko noted sarcastically, noticing the frown. He kept up his smile, however forced that it was. He be damned if he was going to piss of his, currently, only source of direction. When the other spoke, his ear flickered just a bit. Eager to boot. It was becoming increasingly hard to continue smiling. “You suppose?” He asked lightly, albeit just a bit tightly. The sun was making him parch and water was becoming an increasingly important factor. Because of which, his fuse was becoming continually short. He was half tempted to ditch the reluctant, pelt brandishing feline and try his luck at searching for it himself. When the male gave his name, without complaint or being vague, the grin became sincere. Ah, finally, they were getting somewhere. “Well, Raaze, would you be so kind as to show me the way?” he asked, walking forward as though to give a little prod; hopefully, he trotted in the right direction. “So, bad day or are you usually rather, well, socially awkward?” Heiko mused, attempting to keep his voice with a bit of jest, though he was genuinely curious. “Not that I have a problem with it, of course; I mean, who am I to whine about a guy who’s helping me out?” the pink leopard hurried to add, realizing that maybe, just maybe, the other could take socially awkward the wrong way.

He shrugged. "Well, I don't have to show you, but I could chose to." He said annoyed by the question. Did he not know what that meant? "Or would you rather I let you sit here and die?" He questioned the male with a raise of an eye brow. Of course, he didn't care either way, but he was attempting to be civil. Being in a land full of leopards who just didn't give a crap made it hard to socialize with civilized creatures.
"Well, since you asked nicely" He said rolling his eyes. He moved in the same direction and then stopped for a second. "That's not the way, it's this way." He nodded towards. "You don't want to go that way." he said. It was the direction straight into Bhanu, and that wasn't a place for a leopard who smiled like this guy.
"Socially Awkward?" What was that suppose to mean? "If you want to stay alive out here, you best not ask questions that might get you killed." He said with a snort. The more this male talked, the more he was curious how he got out here. "Why are you here?" he asked finally. It wasn't a nice way to ask, but it was blunt, and straight to the point. That's how he was. Simple, and clean. Most the time.
He flicked his tail and started to continue to walk the way he had pointed the male. It wouldn't take too long to find what they were after. "Out here, you want to watch what you say." he paused "There aren't very many kind creatures out here.." He went on "Even the smaller animals are deadly, maybe even more so."

Just keep on smiling, keep smiling, Heiko repeated to himself, smile tight as he tried to keep from glaring. The muscles in his face ached at the effort. "I don't really fancy the idea of dying," he replied in an attempted light voice. He really didn't. When Heiko was corrected in the direction, his grin soon took on a more sincere note. So, Raaze was going to help him! From what he gathered from the few words exchanged, he was rather surprised. Not knowing the leopard very well, he was very much prepared to be left to his own devices and probably end up wandering for a while.
Step a bit light, he kept up pace with the other lion. Maybe the other guy wasn't too bad... "Mmm, I've managed so far. I don't think my luck is going to run out any time soon," he mused, tossing a sideways look at the brown leopard as he questioned him. Heiko blinked, cheerful look dropping for a bit. He hadn't expected the other to be so interested...
A grin was soon creeping back upon his face and Heiko, mustering up a look of pride, regained his rather idiotic happiness. He answered, not paying mind to the bluntness; he just summed it up to the other simply being grouchy. "Mmm, no reason, really!" he replied in a rather boastful voice, before giving him a sidelong look with a smirk. "I come from a family with three older sisters. After many... circumstances, I've decided it was about time I got out of there and find my own life," he hummed, wrinkling his nose at the circumstances.
Of course, the circumstances were nothing dramatic. He simply got tired of being in an almost all-female household and, after having a talk with his father, left the poor man to deal with his sisters and mother by himself. Heiko much preferred finding a lifestyle beyond his home and get away from the oppressing females. "How about you?" he questioned, looking around eagerly for the waterhole.
Heiko's ears twitched at the warning. Even the smaller ones? He looked around uncertainly, speeding his footsteps up so he wasn't lagging too far from Raaze. As much of a stranger he was, he preferred the stranger he knew. "I don't see why anyone would be offended by talking," he muttered, eyeballing the tall grass. Did they have violent hares on this side of the rogue lands? He sincerely hoped not.[ Lady Kiya ] Sorry if this seems a bit OOC for Heiko... this rp has made me realize just what kind of personality he has. u w u He's idiotically cheerful, relies on others a lot, and not used to hardship. u w u I kiiinnndddaa want him to bug and follow Raaze more after this rp. > 3> Kinda like those scenarios where, if you feed a stray, they keep coming back? Probably think of him as a buddy. UP TO YOU THOUGH!

What a direction the male turned. Raaze was surprised the male made it this far with this happy-go-lucky sorta personality. It was only a matter of time before someone or thing decided to end his pink life. Of course, Raaze wasn't the one. He liked a good fight at times, but he didn't like beating someone to death. It wasn't his style.
"You have much to learn." He said with a huff. "If you stay out here, you have to learn to survive in every sense of the word." He said. There was reasoning behind his fur on his neck. It kept him alive and scared most creatures off. It made him look like a lion from afar, but it also kept him cool in this area. It may look as if it keeps him warm, but it was quite miss leading.
He'd learn the hard way, even though Raaze wasn't sure exactly what that would be. Not that he should give a crap about any of it. He moved silently, trying to not become more annoyed with his own choices. He could have easily just disappeared before saying he'd help the male. "Not much farther" He shook his head at his own thoughts and tried to drown them out by something else.Lollipop x L u x u r y Hahaha, that's fine. Raaze could use the annoyance.
