Midnight blue eyes narrowed as they focused on the dark-haired girl, blazing with hatred. She looked human enough; there were few very monstrous features about her, save the odd coloration of her skin, and with that exception she could have passed as one of them. It unsettled her, infuriated her that they could masquerade as a person, and yet fed off their terror as if they were cattle. It didn't matter that MeiXiang looked like a person, could have passed as a friend or a peer or someone she passed on the street, there was no sympathy in her eyes. Just because it looked human didn't mean she'd hesitate.
Swinging her mace once in front of her, just for show, Petra flexed her fingers on the hilt, listening to the sharp spikes slice through the air with an audible 'whoosh.'OOC PETRA is targeting MEIXIANG! She didn't like the look of that weapon the Hunter was slinging around. And she most certainly didn't like the look the Hunter was giving her either. The intensity of her hatred radiating off of her it was almost startling. On the other side tho, Mei wasn't a creature fueled by hatred. And in part she pitied the Hunter in front of her. She probably knew little yet held such prejudice against her kind it was palpable. Rolling her shoulders, she had to ignore the wound in her side. Crouching, she lept forward. Dashing side to side before coming in low to sweep the Hunter's legs. OOC Meixiang is targeting Petra! There were no words exchanged. In fact, it didn't seem to the Death trainee that the girl was taking this seriously; the hatred Petra felt for the creature didn't seem at all reflected in the other's eyes at all. Of course, this only pissed her off further. Was it playing with her? Unafraid because it was unimpressed? Or perhaps it felt nothing at all. Any one of these options were distasteful to her, the possibility that it was all three only strengthening her resolve that much more.
Lips peeled back over her teeth, Petra growled low in her throat as Mei charged her, twisting her body to try to dodge it at the last second. The action was only partially effective; at the last instant, she lunged too slow, the impact of Mei's attack slamming into her left leg. The Death trainee recovered quickly, rolling back onto her feet like a cat before kicking off the dirt, swinging her mace diagonally down at the 'monster.'OOC PETRA is targeting MEIXIANG! Out of instinct, the Jiang Shi lifted her already injured arm to block the blow from doing any serious damage. But as it hit she heard a slight crack and pain rippled up her arm and into her shoulder. It hadn't broken the bone but it still hurt. Twisting her body and curling up her other arm she moved forward to hopefully give the Hunter female a bash to the face with her elbow. A small frown tugging at the corner of her lips. Feeling her FEAR grow slightly weaker with each blow. If she got hurt anymore well...the Hunter would certainly find out what exactly a Jiang Shi could do. Mei could only hope that the next attack wouldn't be the last for her. It was too soon to be taken out. To soon to loose. To fail. Again. OOC Meixiang is targeting Petra! The sound of that crack under her mace was satisfying in a way that was a little unnerving. Petra felt a swell of pleasure rise in her chest, constricting and pushing her to swing again, eager to feel the creature's body break, bones snap, until she disappeared. She had seen what happened to the monsters; she knew they merely reformed back in their little demonic world, unfortunately not really vanquished. But at least it would be one less creature attacking Deus. And she'd heard it hurt like hell.
Jerking her head back quickly, the pale-haired girl arched her back to narrowly avoid the elbow to the face, feeling the air move from the sheer force that had almost connected Mei's arm to her cheekbone. Scowling further, Petra took a single step back, bracing her weight on her back foot; her right one. The left one throbbed angrily from the girl's previous attack, any weight on it making the pain scream through her entire leg. Still, a little pain wasn't about to stop her. It wasn't broken, and that's all that mattered. Spinning her mace again, she lunged, this time feigning to the right at the last second to slash horizontally, aiming for the monster's ribcage.OOC PETRA is targeting MEIXIANG! The slash connected. She could feel flesh tearing. Her clothes ripping and shreading as the mace traveled long her ribs. Well, at least she wouldn't bleed out. All that was left on the mace were bits and pieces of flesh, cloth and dark coagulated blood. Groaning, she lurked forward towards the Hunter. Almost as if she were falling but at the last second she kicked off with her left foot. Clamping her teeth down on whatever body part she could reach. Her nails tearing and clawing at the Hunter's body in a last ditch effort before she knew she might dissipate. OOC Meixiang is targeting Petra! So close. She could practically taste it in the way Mei was getting more and more desperate, lashing out at her wildly. Her teeth grazed her shoulder, and Petra hissed in pain, but it was minor. And she had more important things to think about. Namely the death of this creature. She was itching to bring upon this girl's destruction, so much so her eyes seemed to blazed with a cold fury, a hatred that not many, not even other hunters, seemed to understand.
Except she would never get the chance. Shoving the girl off her roughly, Petra lurched, finding herself tumbling to the ground along with her, unable to deal the killing blow. (Exit!)
