She was lost. Just like Stitch. She felt like that poor little blue dude. Albireo was sitting in the park again, just staring into space, like she had been doing when Jarosite came to make his grand apology. Honestly, she still wasn’t sure how she felt. She felt confused inside. Like she really didn’t belong.
She didn’t feel safe with anyone, not senshi and surely not with the Negaverse. Hell, she didn’t even feel like she belonged with that team of what Acubens had called ‘misfits’ anymore. Great. It was just her luck. She was too different to even fit in on a team for people who didn’t fit in.
The senshi put her face in her lace covered hands and let out a groan. She just didn’t know what the hell to do. This crap was starting to affect her civilian life again too, she spent most of the day in bed, blankets over her head, just staring at the bed sheets. She just wanted a friend. Or some guidance. Or, a quick way out of all of this. Just…Just something that would help rather than add to the downward spiral that Albireo found herself trapped in.

"Ohhh?" The sound rose quietly on the almost silent night, coming from somewhere... or nowhere?
It was a familiar voice, and if she hadn't figure out who it was from the short utterance, the one that followed would quickly give her away. "I'm glad you're safe. I was a little afraid when I didn't see you the other night."
It was true. Dahlia had been pretty busy fighting other cats, but she had hoped when she got back to the Rift that she'd see her friend there, in a slightly darker outfit. When she hadn't.. there had been a soft worry considering all the starseeds she'd seen snatched and used up.
A purr rattled loudly through the cat as she finally jumped up from around Albireo's ankles to the park bench.

It was like fate finally wanted to send a bit of sanity to Albireo, and she was very, very grateful for it. “Dahlia…” She scooped the cat up and hugged her, hugged the cream colored fuzz ball as though she was a teddy bear. Honestly, it was all the senshi could to keep herself from bursting into tears. Really, it was. She felt so emotionally taxed, so ready to just..just give up and do something stupid, that she squeezed the cat, almost forgetting that it was a living creature.
Finally, some sort of realization came to her and she released her death hold on Dahlia, putting her down. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry…I just…” She broke off and shook her head. “Life really, really sucks right now.” Albireo hesitated, then looked at the cat, frowning. “You were there the other night too…? Are you okay? Nobody hurt you, did they?”
It was stupid, really. This shouldn’t have been her first reaction. No, her first reaction should have been, how could you? Why were you there? So many people died and you were a part of it? But no, the mauvian meant more to Albireo than the lives of any of the senshi that met their end that night…including the poor boy that died by Painite’s filthy hand…
She shuddered at the very thought. There had been nothing but nightmares about his empty gaze.

She was swept up in a hug, which was perfectly fine. Until that hug got a little tighter.. and a little tighter.. and then even more. Dahlia had to specifically TRY not to dig her now detracted claws into the girl's shoulder, her tail giving a quick and startled flick.
Her trust in the senshi was enough to keep her calm though, waiting until her emotional grip loosened and more appropriate affections were given. Lifting her head she gave Albireo one quick little sandpaper tongued lick on the cheek, before she nuzzled it in with her more delicate nose and tickley whiskers. "I was there yes. Keeping an eye on my senshi mostly, though I did get into a little tiff with a mean old Guardian there."
"I'm really tough" She mused playfully, before letting her expression somber a bit, returning to the girl's concerns. "What has you down Albireo? That fight the other night? Or is it something else?"

Albireo shrugged. “I just…I don’t like it anymore, I guess.” Her hand gently stroked the guardian’s fur and she sighed heavily. “The fight messed me up, and it wasn’t just the death and almost dying a few times, it was just..the other senshi too…I just…”
She glanced up at the sky and shook her head. “They all just argue all the time. And then the girl who I was supposed to be joining with on a team, she was yelling at me when we were on the moon, and I just…”
The senshi shrugged. “I just…give up. Maybe I’m done. I’ll just hide my henshin pen in my closet again and ignore it for the rest of my life. That sounds good to me. I don’t need this stupid senshi stuff…I don’t need it, and I sure as hell don’t want it. I never did.”

"The moon?" Her ears flicked a little in curiousity, dual colored eyes looking up in the sky at the celestial object.
It seemed simple enough. A little on the selfish side.. but then.. they were just teenagers weren't they? How could anyone expect them to be anything but. Dahlia didn't try to berate her, simply listening instead. It was pretty clear that the swan senshi had been unhappy for a while now, and it only grew with each time they met. That made Dahlia sad in a way.. even though she knew that the sadness was just the thing to help push Albireo in the right direction.
"The White Moon senshi are a mess. Plain and simple. The brainwashing that they receive obvious does something to them... saps the logic from them or something. You're lucky that you're able to see the light."
Shifting around to get more comfortable, she settled into Albireo's lap, continuing on. "You could hide if you'd like.. but I know I would miss seeing you. There is always the other option though. To join a side that actually has leaders.. and teams.. and people that work together."
"You could help us protect the earth." Or if that didn't appeal to her. "Did you know that we had a party after that battle? We sat around and ate pizza and talked like friends."

Albireo sighed. The senshi were a mess. A complete and total mess. She was absolutely right about that. “I would miss you too…you fluffy cat you…”
She listened as the guardian promoted just how organized the chaos side was, and how they partied after killing so many people, how they sat around, talking as so many people…albeit not innocents, not if you were looking at it from the prospective of it being a war…but after so many had died.
She sighed heavily once more. “So you guys got a pizza party, and we got to go up to some lifeless rock in the sky and listen to a ghost lady tell us how we should ban together. Honestly, Dahlia. I think you got the better end of the deal by far. I don’t know. I don’t know what to do, and my ability to think or car is just diminishing night by night. I had all but given it up, you know? For a few months, I was avoiding everything. Then utter stupidity made me come back to it. Duty, I guess. I should have just kept away. It would have done me so much more good…”

Moon? Ghost lady? Cryptic words made Dahlia's eyes narrow for a moment, trying to make sense of and piece together the tiny bits of information. Had the senshi.. gone to the moon? That seemed an awfully ridiculous idea.
"Well.. maybe if you decide to hide your pen away and give up on all of this.. you can let me know your identity outside of it. I'm not supposed to really talk to regular civilians, but I've been known to break a rule here or there."
It wasn't exactly what the Guardian wanted. Senshi were supposed to be proud of being what they were. Connected to their powers deep down. But if her choices were to have the little dancer minus her senshi side or not have her at all well... Her claws were already too deeply entrenched to want to give up and go without Albireo.
"You could always come back anyway. Eventually."
"It seems like bad luck always comes in waves. Bad days follow after each other like a never ending wave. Who knows though.. with the right push you might just find out that you do like being a senshi and start enjoying yourself."

Albireo looked at Dahlia, somewhat hopeful. “You mean…you’d stay friends with me even if I gave it up and just…just left being a senshi?” A real smile began to spread across the swan senshi’s face and she hugged the cat once more, taking care to be gentle this time, however.
“Oh Dahlia..that…that’s the nicest thing I’ve had someone say to me in a long time…” It was relief. Real relief. For once, it felt like she wasn’t being used. It felt like…like Dahlia was honestly her friend. Honestly wanted what was best for her…the rest of them…hell…even Jarosite. They all just…seemed like deep down, they were using her. They wanted her for something. Maybe just so she’d go to their side.
She had considered it, sure. But, she still wasn’t sure about it. She wasn’t content on this side, sure…but what made her think she’d be any happier on that side? Everything was just dumb. That was all. It was all dumb. “Um…my name…my name’s Odette. You know, in real life. Kinda fitting…I guess. Swan lake and all. Though my mom was just…a big fan of the uh…the Swan Princess movie that had come out like, right before I was born…so that’s why she…she named me that…”
She was rambling, sure…but…but it just felt good to tell Dahlia her real name. It really did.

A soft purr rumbled through her chest as she was hugged again. "Of course." She assured to the question, giving a small kitty nod.
The given name brought a soft upturn in her maw, both with the show of trust and out of amusement. It only proved her point didn't it? How intertwined senshi were with their spheres. Odette, ballerina senshi of Swans. A literal swan princess. How fitting. Maybe one day Albireo, other rather Odette, would understand.
"It's a lovely name, and very fitting too." Nuzzling her cheek against the girl's arm lightly she mused. "Do you have any pets at home?" Earth animals could be weird sometimes, but she'd made 'friends' with Realgar's cats, no reason she couldn't do it again.

“No, no pets. It’s just me really.” She gave a little smile, and stroked the cat’s fur once more. “Dahlia, why is it that you’re the only one that’s done anything to really help me? You’re my favorite person on this whole planet, I think.”
Albireo did seem a lot happier and sighed. “I think I will, though…but my pen away for a while…but, maybe I’ll give it another week. If things don’t get better by then, then I’ll take a nice, long…very long break from all of this.”
That seemed fair. The addition of Dahlia’s support made things much easier to shoulder, and she knew it was her duty and blah blah.
“Though, I don’t think I’m going to be a part of that team..” The girl muttered to herself, scowling, though looked at Dahlia a moment later. “I just. Let me hear what you think about it. I was approached by a senshi to join this team of…of what she said would be senshi who didn’t know where they belonged in the war and stuff…but, even when I first met her, she all but accused me of being lazy and not doing my duty, and I don’t know. That made me uncomfortable, then…then when we were up on the moon, she started yelling at me…I don’t even know why, Dahlia! I wasn’t…I wasn’t all that…you know. Right in the head at the moment, sure…but she was yelling at me and asking why I even wanted to join her team in the first place…and damnit. I want to see her again to tell her I don’t. Misfits be damned…”
Albireo shook her head, almost sadly. “I feel bad for any confused senshi that end up on her team…they’ll end up worse than me if she’s that crazy…”
